Rated 3 out of 5 by from not durable We bought a Coleman 12X12 Instant sun Shelter, we used it for our week out in Galveston Tx and thought everything was good. On our second day out there, it rained a bit. We were sitting under the canopy while it was raining (not a heavy down pour or crazy wind and rain), just a nice rainy day. Two sides of the canopy colapse and bend the frames on the both sides. It was very frustrating because we were told it could withstand some good weather. Like I said, it wasn't crazy rain or windy. Where I bought it, they won't let me return it and I am stuck with a broken canopy. And I can not get any help from anywhere to replace it or fix it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from EXPECTED MUCH BETTER FROM COLEMAN Purchased for $170 , second time using the frame broke after some rain while camping. There was no wind, the steaks and tie downs were still grounded. Very disappointed as I expected much better from Coleman. I called customer service and expressed that several reviews stated the same situation. The solution the representative offered me was to purchased another shelter for the price of $179. She stated there were no replacement parts for this model. Now that I think about it, we purchased two Coleman chairs that fell apart to, screws loosened and came out, just such a bummer- you purchase a brand that has been known for quality for years, and like many others, these days, they manufacture for profit, and not craftsmanship.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Affordable and durable A few days ago I received: my 12 x 12 Instant Sun Shelter. My husband and I put it together and it was very easy, we just followed the instructions, in the manual it said that in three minutes it is armed, but the truth is that we take longer to assemble it, maybe with practice we will arm it faster. Another of the attributes of this shelter: is that it protects 50% of the sun's rays, the canvas and the frame are very resistant, it is large, it is high in the center, its colors are fun, bring a bag to keep after using it, bring an extra ziper in case we can not fold goods the accessories. I really liked my sun shelter ready for any party, picnic, etc.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Basic design flaw for model 2000004411 We had a previous version of the Coleman 12x12 and loved it. After about 8 years, it finally blew apart in a thunderstorm, so we purchased the referenced model. The main struts do not, with this design, fit into the very center structural piece at the top the way the original did. Instead, there is a pyramid-shaped set of struts that moves up and down as the structure is set up, but no way to lock it in. With any wind at all (over 8 knots), the side accordian struts to windward bends, causing the top to fall down, causing the whole structure to basically fail. We fixed it by lashing the top struts, and I plan on drilling small holes in which to put capture pins to keep that part in place. However, I shouldn't have to do that, should I... :) This is a poorly designed product, do not buy it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly made, broke with once use Purchased 2 through Amazon for a Special Olympics event. After one use, they both cannot be used again. The cross bars snapped with one use. I don't recommend purchasing the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PERFECT ADDITION This sun shelter came just in time. I was helping at a golf outing today, full sun no shade. So I brought this handy dandy sun shelter with me. It is a bit heavy to lift, however the wheels to pull it around is GENIUS! So to lift if up to a golf cart wasn't so bad. Very easy to pop up (I did have help, although I think I can also do it alone). It was HUGE, lots of comments from the golfers with how lucky I was. I didn't use the stakes and it was just fine for the short period of time I had it up. I can't wait to have this for our outdoor get togethers to offer our guests more shade in other parts of our yard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent & Easy Shade for the Beach We use our Sun Shelter on the beach behind our lake house and it works well. It is relatively easy to set up with a couple of people, especially if one of them is tall or you have a step up of some sort to get the canopy over the pointed top of the structure. We have had it survive unexpected strong winds without bending or tearing. The shade quality is great under our hot Oklahoma sun! We have just bought a second one!
