Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bought it yesterday.....big mistake. We are camping in Virginia and it was predicted to ran for the next couple of days so after considering buying this canopy for a while we bought it yesterday and put it up right away. Well today it’s raining and our picnic table in the middle of the canopy is all wet from the water that is coming through the seams and not the top vents. The wind is not blowing at all. Yea and it’s Memorial Day so don’t try calling Coleman cause nobody’s there. I can’t wait to see what I am instructed to do when I finally get their customer service person. I hope I didn’t waste my money on this canopy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Canopy-leaking and ripping So disappointed in the quality of the canopy. Had this product for just a couple of months. Within a few weeks, seams began to leak. At first just some drips but as the spring progressed with more rain, leaks along several seams-impossible to keep anything dry. Canopy fabric began to tear where it rubbed against the frame. Totally useless. Now I have a frame and no canopy. Wasted $. Can’t find a replacement canopy because of the 13x13 size. Coleman is supposed to be the “go to” company for camping and outdoor needs. Canopy did not live up to the company’s reputation for quality products.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from customer service line is not functioning I just assembled for the first time. one of the locking buttons in the upper leg is not visable in the hole and cant lock the unit correctly. tried to contact customer service twice. each time after the phone tree took me to service, I waited in silence for 5 minutes then the phone rang once, back to silence and after 20 minutes (twice) I disconnected the call. my phone indicated I was connected, but nothing happened and no message was played to acknowledge someone would answer. sorry I waited until the day before the event to set this up. Directions are marginal and i went to youtube to see the assembly (which was different from the directions, but seemed to work)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Price good but canopy not durable! I bought this from Costco with an attractive price. It was truly easy to set it up quickly. The only issue I encountered is the top part of the canopy, which is broken just after the use of several months. A wind blow tore it apart like my picture shown as below. I hope to replace it and I think then it can still be used. If the canopy fabric material could be more durable, it would be a great shelter, fair to say. I searched on the internet and couldn't find the part for replacement. I therefore have to come to the company's website and leave a comment. I hope my problem could be solved soon.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke after second day We bought this tent and after the second day on the beach the locking mechanisms would not work. An interior pole also snapped when trying to take it back down. We managed to get the locking mechanisms flushed out with hose water and they began to work again but there was very minimal sand that came out. Needless to say it’s useless now bc we can’t even find the correct replacement pole on the website to use and we definitely won’t get before our beach trip is over if ordered now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from PLEASE MAKE A REPLACEMENT CANOPY This product is not very practical since the canopy tears in a short period of time but Coleman does not make a replacement canopy. I have a perfectly good frame but a torn canopy. I refuse to pay for another Coleman product for this reason.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from just set up - worst directions ever We just purchased this item and tried to set it up using the directions. I have to say that they are the worst directions I’ve ever read. We got on YouTube and found a video that a Chinese couple put out ( only stating this so that you were aware that the little verbiage in the video is in Chinese) but we watched them carefully and saw how to actually put this up. The printed directions that are included with the product are very incomplete. They don’t show that, after putting the canopy on and attaching it via Velcro, that you have to get under the canopy and start pushing it up. Then, you push the corners down to make the canopy taut. This is a critical part of putting this thing up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No parts replacement Don't buy this tent if you expect to get a replacement part to fix it. They don't sell poles or cross brackets to fix it when it breaks. It broke after the 2nd time I used it. This was the 2nd tent in 2 years to break.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Want better ratings? Offer replacement canopy! Easy to put, effective product. Take offense at the other reviewer who said this is a great product, if used correctly. Was used correctly and still ripped. This canopy cannot handle exposure to the sun. I wouldn't mind paying for more canopies but I haven't heard anything back from Coleman when I sent them several emails about the rips. I'm thinking of making my own canopy with more durable fabric to match the durability of this frame.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not durable Nicely made, light, and convenient. Problem is that they are pretty fragile. I am Scoutmaster of a Troop and we use these canopies on our outings when we go car camping, about 6-8 weekends a year. We have had 3 of them break this year alone, all of them less than 3 years old. They are very weak at the pivot points on the frame and they snap easily there. Before you say the boys must have handled the canopies roughly, we also have canopies from different companies that are bulkier and heavier, and as less convenient as those are compared to the Colemans, they have lasted many years longer under the exact same conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement Cover My 3 year old Shelter was getting sun damaged and then a tree branch fell through it .Buy new or replace cover? I just called Coleman and ordered 2 replacement covers. 5/1/18. $60 each with free shipping. Now I have a new cover and a spare. Awesome customer service!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible!! Don’t last 3 months! Bought to to use when camping (we have a class RV and this is for extra shade area) After using probably 5 times no longer than 5 days each time the fabric was completely “dry rotted” and ripped everywhere! Apparently the UV protection is completely useless at least to the fabric. And worst part: impossible to find a replacement fabric (just the top) anywhere! And Coleman parts section on their website is the most useless and confused I ever saw! $180 down to trash!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not durable The top on the sun shelter is new. I put it up on July 1,2020. Within less than a month it developed holes. This is the second top for this shelter. I should not have purchased the shelter based on my past experience with the Coleman Shelters. I had the old type shelter and had to replace the top twice on that one also. When I asked about a new top they where no longer made. That would have been the third time I replaced that top. I was sent the new type under warranty at no charge. When that new shelter top started to come apart I was told I would have to pay $80 for a new top. I purchased the new top. I did not use the new top last year, but waited to put the new one up this July. Now the new one has holes in it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lasted about 1 year, then plastic brackets broke We loved this tent, this was our second one, as with the first one the second one had the same part failures after 12 to 15 uses. Coleman knows the weak link to these tents are the plastic parts, which we can not find parts. Why not use cast aluminum parts or at the very least offer replacement parts.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor quality material Use this on our deck during the summer. Leaked at seams during first outdoor use in rain. Actually the first day we used it. Sun bleached and dried the canopy top so bad I had to buy a new canopy top this year. Wait till you see the price of the replacement canopy top! We have owned this for 2-3 years. Frame is OK. Wouldn't call it top notch though.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not very durable This is the second shelter I have had. I put the first one up and left it up to cover my deck for two months. The next season when I attempted to put it up the top would tear and rip in many places. I emailed the Coleman Company and they replaced the shelter free of charge. I used the replacement for six weeks last season. When I attempted to put it up this season the top did the same thing. It ripped in three places. The product is not worth the cost.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Captain she is breaking up!!! I purchased this tent twice now and have used it regularly!! I have put it up and discovered that all of the hardware parts have stress crack or completely broken. The tent has been taken down properly and stored properly with nothing being stacked on top of it. I am sure from reading other review about this product that I am out of luck getting replacment parts. Real bummer of a company that has been a standard for camping equipment for many, many years.I certainly hope that some Colemen company rep read this and responds with some help. Look at the pics closely to see stress cracks and broken strut brackets. I use this product when I'm Camping ✘ No, I do not recommend this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won't keep you dry and won't last if left up This will not keep you dry. It's kind of a porous weave without any kind of waterproof coating. I'm on my 3rd unit. I leave mine up all year and the have coated the last two covers "out of the box" with water sealer/repellent. This really helped with you staying drier in the rain. Sun still makes it extremely brittle causing even acorns to puncture the fabric. That's why I have to buy a new one each year (Cheap at Costco). If you used this only as a popup (10 times a year) it might last you a very long time. I love the 13 x 13 size. So much roomier than my 10 x 10, even though I think the legs are still 10 x 10. I wish Coleman would sell replacement covers. It seems so stupid to buy a whole unit every year and throw out all the metal because I only need the cover.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from reasonable price, not very durable bought this to reolace the one I had, because it was bigger, looked good. Expected it to last longer than it has. Used it as a shelter for plants to protect from sun and a place to sit and enjoy back yard.. Thought it would last, but top started showing signs of wear after first year, small holes and thinning, made it thru this winter, it is falling apart. Should have checked on life span for one that you plan to leave up all the time. very dissapointed in it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Large Coverage Area but not durable We use our canopy for soccer games, camping and various events. We have had our canopy for several years but have had several brackets break that keep the arms together for the frame. We forgot 2 broke last year and had to use sports athletic tape to keep them together so we could use it for shade due to being 105 F degrees out during a tournament. I also just noticed that the canopy part is starting to get worn from lots of high heat damage. I wish we could get replacement parts which would have given this review 5 stars. It is heavy but we loved the coverage for shade. I grew up with Coleman products and wish they were more environmentally friendly and offered parts.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Failed first time out I love Coleman, we have been a Coleman family for 50 years. So I was excited to purchase this Shelter to add to our cots, tent, camp kitchen, camp stoves, lights, coolers etc. This shelter was very easy to put up and has a large coverage area. Unfortunately the first time out of the bag and there is a flaw on one of the seams near the top ( fabric was folded and pinched as it was sewn together at the seam).Needless to say during the first rain we had a very big leak right in the middle of the shelter so everything got soaked. Coleman needs to listen to its reviews and fix this or stop selling an inferior product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Should offer a replacement canopy! I've had this easy-up canopy for several years now with no real durability issues regarding the frame and mechanisms. The canopy is starting to fade and under medium to heavy constant rain, leaks through. We don't use it often and is stored in its wheeled case when not in use so it would be disappointing if the canopy wears out before the frame! Coleman, you should offer a replacement canopy!!! Only makes sense for a guy good product...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Canopy Top Torn in 5 Months This is my second Coleman 13' x 13' Instant Eaved Shelter. This first one was used quite a few times before a couple of the trusses bent and the canopy top tore in several places. I purchased a new one this summer, and it seems the quality has gone down quite a bit as compared to the first one I bought. I have only used this one on 3 different occasions (a picnic, a day at the beach, and a weekend camping trip). I set it up on Saturday for use on Sunday and the canopy top is torn. I searched for a replacement canopy, but the cost is 2/3 of what it would cost to buy a new one. As much as I love Coleman and their products, I will not be buying another canopy. :(

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sturdy Frame Garbage Cover Material Love The Frame But the Cover Tore Immediately when I took it down. Cover could have been built better for the money. Been trying to Get a new cover to replace it after spending a high cost on the Item but it doesn't appear available. I would like to recommend this product but I cant because for Just Under 200 bucks it doesn't last.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Difficult to handle My husband and I hurt ourselves while trying to use this shelter, it is so hard to push up and click those top pole locks. Each time we pulled to extend the frame it would snap back, we still don't have it exactly right, the top is lopsided because of those top locks on one side. This is our second 13x13 Eaved Coleman Shelter, the first one was bought about 3 years ago, and it was not this hard to handle. What happened ?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought it about 11 years ago We got this for our family camping trips about 11 years ago and it has been awesome! But the fabric is starting to fade and was thinking about replacing it. But after reading the reviews it sounds like it might be better to contact Coleman and get a new cover. The frame is starting to show it's age and it did blow over one and was cut by the back window on the truck shell. Other than that it has been awesome. But reading the reviews it sounds like Coleman needs to go back to the quality that they had before. Broken metal, cracked plastic, bad fabric. I'll do what I can to keep mine going a little longer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I’ve had better! Sorry Coleman, I’m a life long camper and have used Coleman products for over 30 years but you missed the boat with this one. First time I used this canopy, the seams leaked terribly. The second time I used this canopy, I noticed multiple “rips” along seams during set up. Sure enough, through the day with a little wind, those little “rips” turned to full blown tears... now the canopy is trash afte two uses.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Read the fine print. I used ours for 3 summers in the Seattle area; up all summer. The box says for temporary use....not permanent. The canopy got "crispier" each year and finally started cracking and ripping. A little duct tape got me thru the 3rd summer. Wish Coleman would sell a canopy made of stronger fabric like Sunbrella or something used for car covers that could be used for several summers. The frame is extremely strong & well built....have reused it for fishing trips with just a tarp thrown over it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay away from this You definitely cannot use this as a permanent sun shelter. The material on ours started ripping after being on the deck for only one month. The frame seems well constructed, however. My sister-in-law bought the same one and hers seems to be lasting well but she only uses it a couple of times per year and only leaves it up for short time periods, This way might get her 2-3 years out of it. Bottom line is: Don't leave it up for longer than 3-4 days at a time. The material does not last under the baking from the sun. You might get a longer use out of it if you have a long stretch of weather without any sun.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great shade but not durable long term Purchased this through costco.. had it 3 years and the last year was it's last. The fabric thins out and starting ripping at the inseam. Same issue as previous reviews... loved the amount of shade we got from it but honestly thinking is it worth to purchase replacement if the problem persists.
