Terrible Drain design
Love the cooler. It does keep things cool if you precook it ahead of time. I’m giving it 3 stars because of the terrible drain plug design. It’s where you would pull the cooler. First time we used it, it ripped off. Now we have to replace it and hope it doesn’t happen immediately again.

Did not work for the Vintage Coleman ice chest
The diameter of the threads were too big to fit through the hole on the Coleman ice chest that I have. And the threads we're not long enough to reach all the way through to the inside of the ice chest.

Coleman is the best
The drain plug arrived and was easy to install. I really appreciate Coleman listing all the models this plug would fit. Our Coleman cooler is pretty old but the plug fits perfectly and has saved us from having to throw out a perfectly good cooler. Any outdoor item we need in the future will definitely be a Coleman. It's great to see a company make quality products and stock any replacement part you may need due to normal wear and tear.

Wrong Part
The description for this part on Coleman's website clearly lists the plug as compatible with Xtreme Cooler model 6270. The part I was sent only goes up to 6268. In other words it is TOO SHORT for the width of the walls of my cooler. Irritating. If you are shopping for parts for cooler model 6270, look elsewhere.

Missing
Coolers cap on the drain broke. Ordered the part for model 5863 which is said on website and was sent wrong drain. Only two choices and the one I ordered is wrong even though directions were followed. Now what do you suggest? Purchase another cooler for the $6.99 part plus tax and shipping?

Repaired a 50 year-old Coleman Cooler!
I borrowed a Coleman cooler from my parents and broke the drain plug. I was thrilled to find a replacement! The parts don’t come with any directions, but I found a video on YouTube that showed exactly how to replace the old plug.
