Rated 1 out of 5 by Thomas1952 from Rechargeable Batteries Defective Purchased a spotlight that requires the CPX 6 cartridges or the "D" size battery pack. One battery came with the lamp and one was purchased separately. BOTH batteries show charged but when placed in the lamp it will not light. The D-pack works and if the CPX cartridge is inserted with the power supply attached it will light but the cartridges themselves are BOTH defective. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! It seems to be a common problem based on these reviews. It either works or doesn't and there are too many with this same problem for it to be an isolated situation. The spotlight itself is very good with the D batteries but I will have to give the overall product single stars due to the battery packs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by tschan from Rechargeable batteries Defective Contacted customer support to see what could be done with the rechargeable battery packs. The lantern is great idea especially with the rechargeable packs. The problem is the packs are defective. Two of the three I have are doing what others are mentioning. The light shows green and the battery pack is dead or will not take a charge. I use it for emergency reasons so the concept is great, My packs are over a year old by manufacturing date and I believe my purchase is beyond a year. They will do nothing for you other than sell you packs at suggested retail, plus shipping and tax. The obviously have a problem with these packs, but will not stand behind their product. There are too many people complaining to ignore, but they do.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Died and I never even used it!!! I bought two of these rechargeable batteries to go with the corresponding lanterns. I left it plugged in to keep it charged until the green light came on. Sometime within a year of cycling one of the batteries stopped working. Did not get a chance to use it. Getting a replacement hoping it will last longer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Techguy from Does not last! The battery pack goes permanently dead very quickly and will not recharge. The cost to replace the battery pack is more than the cost of the lantern with a new battery pack.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Red 86 from Stay away If you intend to use this as an emergency lantern DON"T! Apparently long term storage ruins the battery. Recently I attempted to use it in a power outage and it failed. I checked the battery voltage and it was discharged even though I charged it before putting it in storage. I attempt to charge it and the green led illuminated stating fully charged. So battery is N.G. I pulled an old Coleman white gas lantern out of the garage, installed new mantles, oiled the plunger and it worked great after 15 years in storage. Coleman should go back to what they were good at.
