Rated 3 out of 5 by DetroitDan from High-quality, but difficult to light In the description it says that it uses "standard charcoal." Since it is a "chimney design" is assumed it didn't require lighter fluid. The enclosed instructions specify to use a wooden match to light the charcoal. I messed around for over an hour with wooden matches, paper scraps, and a propane wand lighter. Eventually, the bottom row of standard briquettes started, but the chimney-effect was not good enough to start the rest of the charcoal. Luckily, I had a bottle of lighter fluid left in my RV from the previous owner. So, I squirted, lit, and eventually ate. It is a great design, well-built, and cooks perfectly. I am just very disappointed about having to use fluid to light the charcoal. If I have missed some trick with fluidless light please let me know -- I would move my rating to five stars!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jacksmommy from Neat!!! Grilling on the Go!!! Bought this to use when we travel. Pros: It was larger than I thought. Can travel anywhere with you. Perfect for a family of five. I would recommend this. Adjustable grates on both sides. Cons: You have to use the charcoal that has the fuel already in it. The ashes tray is hard to clean. The base at the bottom is a little wobbly. Can’t light with just a wooden match. Had to use candle lighter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by gbmt from A Hidden Gem.. I love this grill...it's compact yet powerful. I can take it anywhere and still get the best of grilled foods without the bulk of a big grill...this is definitely worth the purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Kitty too from Disappointing The Fold N Go Grill (Charcoal) is a great idea, but it needs more work. There is a need for neat, compact grills that close up for travel/storage, but this isn't the answer. Clasp didn't work, kept falling open, match light coals never lit because pan is too shallow and matches kept going out. (Perhaps a well-like panel on one side for additional depth would facilitate lighting.) Apparently returned before - soiled, broken styrofoam packing - and no one bothered to check it out before sending it out again, and parts were missing. I returned it and replaced it with The Part Pail. The Party Pail is perfect. No breakable parts, easy to light, easy to clean up. I have a Weber Gas grill (not crazy about the non-taste of gas grilling, and it's a chore to clean) that I'll continue to use for larger meals, roasting, etc, But for a couple of quick steaks or sausages... this is the answer. I put about 12 charcoal briquettes in it, and it burned for four hours. Too bad they don't make it in a larger size. I cooked two 1-1/2 inch strip steaks on it. They cooked perfectly, but there was no room for anything else on the grill, and I didn't want to cook in installments.
