Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't possibly go wrong This is what perfection looks like. I had one since high school (1973) and thought it was time for an upgrade. I'm so thankful for Coleman and their contribution to the outdoors!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! This little portable stove is awesome. Perfect for outdoor cooking. I cannot wait to take my first camping trip of the year and this thing is going to be the highlight. It’s slightly heavy, but the best part is that you don’t need a gas tank. It’s run by butane fluid and you fill the little tank in front and turn it on. It’s easy to turn on and off and you just use a match to light it up. As you can see from the attached photo, it gets a good flame and fits two pots/pans. The top closes well and then you can tote it anywhere you want. Compact enough to store. It’s perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small but mighty stove! You know that winter storm a short while back that took out the power for a whole lot of people in the Midwest? Well, we caught in that and this little guy came in super handy! Not only is it compact, lightweight, and portable for camping, but it was great to have in a pinch when the power was out. It's very easy to set up and everything can be packed away into a little suitcase ready to go. The cooking space is a decent size and it was easy to clean up after we're done. I'll always keep it ready not just during camping season, but in winter too!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Coleman Stove It was awful and I have returned it. The lid was uneven; the latch was misaligned as well as the tube that went from the tank to the burner. Most horrible item I have ever purchased from Coleman. Not sure what has happened to the Coleman products, but this was the worst! I had a similar problem with the one I recently purchased from REI.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very unhappy. Huge waste of my money I wish I had not spent my money on this stove, because for the price it has too many issues. Every time I use it, the grate gets hot and melts into the green paint on the stove leaving it looking abused. And more importantly It won’t really stay lit for a sustained period, especially if you try to simmer. Ive watched every video on these things and read all the Coleman forum posts but I still can’t get it stop going out while I’m cooking. Overall I find this stove to be stressful and unreliable and would return it if I still had my box because I just got, I also bought a Coleman lantern at the same time so I could run everything on Coleman fuel but since the stove doesn’t really work good I’m stuck with the lantern and a propane stove which means I have to carry another fuel source.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good I'm having some difficulty getting consistent heat output. I've followed all the manufacturers instructions and watched several tutorial videos and the situation persists. I think I may have received a defective model?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Coleman Stoves: Public Safety Hazard Purchased two Coleman Guide Series Dual Fuel Stoves. Both erupted in flames and burned up. The mixing chamber is defective. Use extreme caution when lighting and have an extinguisher near by. Used these stoves for 40 years as an Outfitter, never had a problem. Tried to call Coleman customer service but they do not answer the phone. Tried to fill out online return form, it does not work as well. I want my money back!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money Poor build quality. Cheap, thin metal. Inside bent to house gas tank.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from American-Made Bacon-Slayer Bought to replace an older model that had taken a walk (red tank, ~50yrs old). Same bulletproof reliable design. Makes plenty of heat and runs a good amount of time on a tank of fuel (Coleman Fuel/white gas), and for how we use it for truck camping, we prefer it over the units powered by all natural clean-burning propane. Built like a tank too just like the old one. Still made in USA too. I love it. Time to make some bacon.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hard to figure out It takes a long time to figure out how to use this stove, which is fine, except if you’re camping with friends and sharing it and have to do step by step tutorials for each person using it. Also the fuel did seem to Leak at some point which caused a mini fire in the stove. Overall frustrating user experience and even after following the complicated instructions it didn’t seem to function well or feel safe.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Coleman Dual fuel Stove This is not my 1st Dual fuel Coleman. I love it ! The earlier stoves were used to the point of wearing out (many years) This one seems to be built of the same quality and durability. Looking forward to many years of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for camping and emergencies This is a stove that everyone should own. It's ability it run on multiple fuels makes it the perfect thing to have during long power outages. It certainly takes a little bit to get the hang of, but once you do it's quite easy to use. I take mine tent camping or get it out for deep frying. It's very efficient for the power it has. Definitely a stove you need to use in a well ventilated area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little camping stove! What a great little stove. It’s the perfect addition to our stock for summer time. We got a rare 40F January day in Minnesota so we had to bust this out and give it a try. We’re not beginners to items like this so we set it up super quick and fried some fresh fish from our day of ice fishing. Easy to use! And it’s easy to fold down and pack away - it not all that bulky!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very cool!! The wind blockers are a bit flimsy and seem like they could break after a lot of uses, the grill part could have an indentation to sit flush and be eye pleasing. The handle and latch could be a little more rugged too. I looked online and for $200 I would not recommend this, cool piece to put on a shelf for display but doesn’t seem very practical, I’d give it a 4/10

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Paint burning off on 1st use! I bought a new one of these from REI in March 2024 after my 20+ year old one started getting flaky. I used it the first time this past weekend (July 2024) on an off-grid camping trip. It lights up easily and the initial yellow flame condenses to a clean, tight, blue flame pretty quickly. My only complaints are that it was 'woofing' and popping when the burner was turned down to low, like the fuel is flash-burning in the venturi tube on occasion. But my larger complaint is the paint used on the body was melting and the grate would be adhered to it at the front after use. On the last day, I was heating water in a big tea kettle and the paint on upper front lip of the body started burning which turned into a sustained fire as the paint burned away. I had a nice, clean, blue flame going and the tank was well-pressurized. We'll see how long it lasts. Maybe I'll end up refurbishing the 1960's one that I have and using it instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great camping stove! I’m really happy with this camping stove. It’s perfect for camping anywhere, hiking or even tailgates. The metal case is really sturdy and travels well. Anytime I’ve cooked food with it, everything turns out great! The heat generated from the stove is perfect to cook any type of food. I’m looking forward to using this in years to come with my family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great and dependable Product My family (mine, my parents and my grandparents) have been using this type of stove for more than 85+ years. They are dependable, cheap to operate, easy to repair, store, to operate and maintain. Read and follows the directions follow prior to use. Practice using the stove prior to going out on your adventure. Do not over fill the fuel tank.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Portable and works with unleaded gas easy to maintain Assembly of this product was straightforward with the instructions that were included. Fairly easy to use. Will come in handy for storms when we loose electricity. Or simply going camping. Good size for pots and pans when cooking or simply boiling water for tea or coffee. Even warming water for showering when camping.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Coleman let us down when we really needed you. I am hugely disappointed in Coleman. We just got pummeled by hurricane Helene and have no power, and my brand new out-of-the-box Guide Series stove has a bad valve/generator assembly and won't run. I have tried at least 10 times, and I've used Coleman stoves and lanterns my whole life. All I wanted to do was make my neighbors a hot cup of coffee since they have an 80-year old oak tree in their living room now. Luckily, my 90-year old dad gave me his 426-D (from 1966) about a month ago and it saved us. And before you folks at Coleman go giving yourselves a pat on the back, the 426-D is from from an altogether different generation of Coleman folks: folks that cared about the quality of products they made and sold, folks that took pride in what they did. Those people have long since left the Coleman company. There's nobody at the Coleman company that has anything to do with the 426-D that came through for us. This Guide Series stove is junk. And I don't recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A mini stove you can carry anywhere This is sooooooo convenient, a packaged box - movable stove that you can carry anywhere for camping , hiking or outdoor parties. It has wind block panels , removable chrome plated grate for easy cleaning. Two 10 inch cookware fit for the two burner stove . I am so glad to have this and I Like this so much .

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Thank You for Still Making These! Do you want to lug a tank of propane on your camping trip? What happens if you slip and fall? Liquid fuel is much safer for this application. I have lots of old units that are rusty and fussy to start, the new grill was ok. While it is not promoted or recommended by the the manufacturer, I find that Coleman stoves also work great with Ethanol, E-85, which is safer in the winter when it may be used inside a tent (not recommended by the manufacturer), as E-85 has much less CO. It may be a little harder to get going, but I found the dual fuel versions work better with E85 than the original old ones. They sometimes have the flooding / flare up issue where the propane do not. I always say that Coleman Liquid Fuel stoves are not for Millennials, but that is stereotyping....Sometimes OLD technology is still not obsolete, these things were great in the past and are still great. Sorry to hear about defects. I also love the lanterns that they make! I like the fact that parts are available!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smaller than the 414 Bought the 424 Guide Series because the 414 is discontinued. Coleman typically gets 5 stars on their product, but I deducted a star because the 424 is smaller than the 414 and you need to unaffix the right windscreen retainer to get a 10.5 inch skillet to sit centered over the right burner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can’t wait to try it camping I love the brand Coleman, first time trying a burner stove and I absolutely loved it is practical, the fire is perfect not too high or low is just the perfect amount of fire for cooking. Loved the pretty green box where it comes it looks like a metal suitcase. I can’t wait to try it camping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great camping accessory This stove is coming on every camping trip! I love that you can use both unleaded gasoline and Coleman fuel for this stove, and it's very easy to light and get up to temperature. Cooking a nice dinner of steak and potatoes, and then breakfast of bacon and eggs was very easy with this stove.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Present for the next gen I have had a Coleman stove in my family as long as I can remember! We used to do a lot of camping. Now I can pass on the torch to the next generation. Don't know how the new ones work compared to the ones 50 years ago? It will make a good Christmas gift! Thank you and Merry Christmas!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great addition to have I really love that this stove is lightweight and portable. Another great feature is everything fitting inside it. My family and I don't really go camping but we do go fishing and crabbing a lot so this is the perfect size for us to cook and enjoy our fresh catch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So thrilled to use camping! I couldn’t believe this popped up in my instant grabs! These little stoves are so nice for camping. We can’t wait to try it out the next time we go camping. My fiancés parents and grandparents have had and used this stove before and they work exceptionally well!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great longevity and always ready to go. Have had one of these stoves for years. Very reliable in all weather conditions. Fantastic ease of food preparation with the two burners too. Make sure you practice proper safety procedures as you would with gas as well and your set for many enjoyable occasions.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Touchy It's a little bit touchy. Sometimes it pops and the flame goes out completely. I looked for leaks but could not find any. The tank does not seem to fit securely and won't go in all the way on right side, it is as if something is bent or getting in the way.
Date published: 2023-11-27
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice campstove This stove is perfect replacement for our 1982 Coleman stove. It is made just like it as the only difference is the gas tank is silver. I'm sure it will last just as long. So happy to have this emergency back up for home and years of cooking while camping.

We understand that you would like to know why your Guide Series® Dual Fuel™ Stove has a yellow flame until you turn on the other burner. We would be delighted to answer your inquiry. As per checking, It is normal for a Coleman. liquid fuel stove to burn with a large yellow flame when first started. Until the generator assembly is hot enough to vaporize the fuel, the stove will burn with a yellow flame. Once the generator heats up enough, the flame will turn to blue and settle closer to the burner. Under normal use, this can take from 20 to 60 seconds depending on the outside temperature. The colder the stove and fuel, the longer it will take.Hope this helps to answer your inquiry. Please let us know if you need further assistance.
