Rated 2 out of 5 by Cruz27 from Small for my Class B RV First I want to say I love Coleman products and was excited to see they had come up with a grill smaller than the full size Roadtrip. Being in a Class B RV I have limited room and the Roadtrip took up too much of my limited storage space. However, there are two issues that have lead me to rate it as a 2 star. First there is no lid latch. The 225 on the stand does have a lid latch. Second, short of having the latch it would be nice to have a travel case. But I asked about the future availability of a case and was told by customer service one is not being planned in the near future. Really, a small travel grill without a case? So now I have to come up with some way to keep the lid closed while traveling and how to protect the grill when in storage on my RV. Wished Coleman would have thought of these two things when producing this new grill. I would not recoomend this grill until Coleman at least comes out with a carry/protective case.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Donovan from Don’t buy this grill This grill can barely cook at all in cold weather, and cooks very unevenly in fair weather. It came with sticky stuff on the inside of the hood to hold some paper that had the model of the grill on it. I can’t even manage to scrape all of this sticky stuff off so I just have to cook with it. Would absolutely return if I didn’t have to get it dirty and greasy first to find out how bad it actually is.

Ever did like that it’s hard to ignite as you can’t even see the flame when/ if it starts and the slightest breeze and flames gone! Went camping on Monday July 8, 2024 for 3 days. Could not get it to light at all with the auto striker. Had to go buy one of those fire long lighters. Finally got it going, but had to baby it along and shelter it all around from the slight breeze that was present. Went to Web site to fill out warranty form. Form asks for State / Province and Zip / Postal Code. Well you put this info in and there is nothing shown for Canada at all anywhere it is only states listed!!! Why ask for it if you can’t deliver!

Easy to take care of, put tin foil on (or small grill easy cleanup sheets), and very portable. I have taken it to state parks and bbq’d with the kids, just sat it on the picnic table. One downside is the propane tank should be upright, but it’s hard to get the tank to do so unless you adjust it just right in conjunction on whatever surface you are using, the valve setup alone doesn’t hold it properly.

My wife struggles with this disorder so it was important that it went off without a hitch. Instead of 30 or so people 70 showed up and the grill may have been the only thing that went well that day still at the end of the day the people were fed and happy all because of my Roadtrip grill

Rated 5 out of 5 by aleta17 from Good travel grill for camping I purchased this item after purchasing and returning the Fold N Go grill (which was flimsy and not up to Coleman standards). I have yet to use this grill but have explored all the ins/outs of the unit. I like that there is a removable drip tray which will make clean-up much easier. Like some of the other reviewers, I am a little disappointed there is no latch to hold the lid closed and that Coleman also does not have a travel case for the grill. I attached a propane cylinder and lit the grill to test all the connections, and everything worked just fine. That said, another reviewer purchased several travel cases on Amazon based on the measurements of the grill and settled on one that was the closest / best fit. The grill fits in the case along with the additional griddle I purchased. There is also room for several propane cylinders, so the case was a good purchase. Another reviewer advised that they made material sleeves for the grill grates so that they did not rattle around and possible scratch the top rim of the drip tray. Great idea, and since I am not good at sewing anything I used some old pillowcases - works just fine. I also put the griddle in a pillowcase before storing it in the travel case. The grill, the grates, and the griddle can be a bit heavy - all stored in the case I have so I plan to remove the grates / griddle prior to lifting it into the vehicle, then putting them inside for travel. I will do the same when removing the case from the vehicle, first taking out the grates / griddle as well as the propane cylinders. Just a few extra steps but it will be easier to move everything. I will be using this grill within a couple weeks, on our first 'truck camping' adventure and expect it will work just fine.

Heats up very well but I don't know how well. I hope experimenting with it will provide a frame of reference over time.

Recently though our rubber gasket/seal that goes from the propane regulator into the grill (not the other side that attaches to the 16oz tank) finally broke and we’ve been unable to use the grill. Can not find a replacement for that gasket/seal anywhere. Wasn’t wanting to have to buy a new regulator. Does anyone know of where I can get that part? Thank you!

Called three different times to make sure it would fit the 225 before ordering ( was assured by all that it was made for the RoadTrip. Didn’t Fit ) however after some grinding and welding a bracket to keep it from sliding it’s perfect with lots of surface area and a grease catcher. Took it camping and used it in various cooking setups Love It

Rated 1 out of 5 by Benaya from Can't find regulator anywhere I didn't find the gas regulator in the box. Looked for it in: Kohls, Ace, Runnings, Walmart.. No one has this part! The website here doesn't have it. The specifications of the product doesn't say which part is needed. I have another Coleman gas stove that uses a different regulator so I am stuck with this huge, heavy grill where I can't use it!!!!

Also, there is no cover or carry case made for it either. I wish I had kept the box because I would return it for a different model but its too late now. Not too late for you though...save yourself some hassle and get a better model.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Don’t buy this from It’s a piece of garbage! Why is this called a “roadtrip” grill? There’s no way to move it in or out of a car or truck. No case you can purchase to carry it around. Just say it’s a grill to keep on a small table on your apartment patio and hope your neighbors don’t report you. It’s no good for tailgating, the beach, or anywhere you travel to.

I didn’t experience any flare ups while cooking, however getting rid of the water is a pain when you’re at a campground since it has grease in it.

I love how easy it is to clean and store. I like the drip pan and removable grates for easy clean up. Yes, I would recommend to family and friends.

Figured Coleman would not warranty the grill with the time that has passed. Have tried to find an ignitor wire and replace myself with no success. Maybe Coleman could help me out?

The Coleman Roadtrip 225 does fit in the bag, the bag is just a little big, but at least it is well made, has a zipper closure, handles, and a shoulder strap. I will also put the Swaptop griddle in this bag. There are 4 outside pockets which will hold the propane cylinders.

I also saw another reviewer state that his wife made (sewed) a material case for the two grill pieces so they would not scratch the drip pan edges during transport. Not competent with a needle and thread, or a sewing machine, I resorted to an old pillowcase, and it worked just fine.

Since this grill is on the heavy side, I will transport it with the grill pieces stored separately in the carry bag (they fit just fine) and will then remove them from the bag prior to lifting the case, or just lifting the grill out of the case, without the grill grates. This will lighten the load considerably.

Since the grill does not have a latch to hold the cover closed, I used a bungee cord, through the handle and tucked under the legs - again, a suggestion by another reviewer. Not the best solution, but with the bag there should be no chance of the lid popping open during transport.
