good grill for the price
Have been using this grill for the past three years. Keep it stored outside in the weather and use it at least once a week in the spring, fall and summer months. Maybe once or twice a month in the winter. It still grills like a champ. Just started to get a little rust on the lid but I'd expect that from all the use and sitting in the PNW weather. For me, this little grill has been a workhorse.

Leaks gas, rattles, Grease collects inside
How on earth this grill has not CAUSED a major fire yet is a mystery. It leaks gas if left connected to bottle through the CLOSED valve when not in use. When rolling across ground (parking lot, campsite etc) it rattles so loud that its just embarrassing. If you have to go up/down a curb - forget it, the legs/rails catch and scrape on the curb lip.The grease from cooking burgers has nowhere to go and collects inside the housing, making what my family calls a "Giant Grease Life-Ring". Its a disgrace that this thing EVER made it to market.

Not A SAFE HEIGHT TO COOK ON
I bought this Grill put it together. when i had it fully assembaled it stands way to low and is an unreasonable height to cook on. My Inlaws have a Coleman Roadtrip LXE 2 Burner stove and I can cook on that just fine but the sportster is just way too low.

Regulator went bad...
I got this 1.5 years ago, and the regulator went out a few months ago. I've looked for a replacement, but cannot find one without spending $75+ on ebay.
Seemed like a good deal when I got it, but ended up being a total waste. The grill did an adequate job for about one year, and then quit working.

putting together pain!
Directions to put together are poor to say the least. I am an experienced DIYer but the directions are not clear or complete. The latch to keep the grill in portable position won't latch. I also wish the wheeled leg front actually locked into place not just slid into position.

This is a great Grill! it works great for portability and having to move a grill to a location... Think about all those other grills that are on a tripod... i.e. 2 wheels and you have to awkwardly lift the grill or drag it along... This is much easier

Regulator sucks. Always on high. Waste of money.
This grill is a waste of money. I bought one for my wife and it had issues with the regulator right away. I went back to Coleman on their warranty and they sent me a second one as a warranty replacement. That unit hasn't worked right from the beginning. The regulator on this one doesn't work either. It's always on high. This one will go to the road also. At this point, I'm buying her something different that will actually work. Not sure what's happened to Coleman, but their quality control sucks.

Guys, hands down to this grill. I took it to a camping trip with family and it perform better than we imagine, my father even stolen from me because it fit perfectly on his truck. Highly recommend for outdoors trips.

The grill worked last year great now this year can not get any flame to stay lit. Put new 16oz porpane can on and it clicks when turning dial so no longer safe. Scrubbed it clean but still won't light correctly. Bought it last year at ACE hardware end of summer sale. Now it is Father's day an can not grill. Disappointing in the product. I see another review had same issue. I thought coleman made good products but this one failed. Has 3 year warranty did not last one.

Cant find regulator
Let me start by saying this would be a 5 star review if we could find the proper regulator to replace ours.. We have the 9955 series roadtrip sportster and love it. But the gas control knob broke on the regulator and i figured might as well replace the whole thing instead of just a knob that 'might' fit. However, virtually impossible to find. Any help would be appreciated. Im not looking for a free replacement but to be pointed in the right direction. Thanks

Burns too hot
Grill is great quality. Light weight for transporting and easy to clean. But grill burns way too hot even on the lowest setting. I think it needs a smaller gas flow orfice . Working with Coleman to correct the issue. Ive NEVER used anything but the lowest setting and still have a difficult time not burning whatever I am cooking. Thick meat is impossible to not char.

The right grill, at last!
I looked for a long time, thinking that the Road Trip grills would work, but glad I waited as this Sportster is perfect. I don't have a dedicated space for a grill so must take it back and forth to a detached garage. This one is the perfect size, was easy to assemble, is easy to clean, and works well. Attractive outside my front door as well. Plus, Coleman had a good sale!

Not a quality product
This is for my home on a small balcony. It work for about 3 months then the regulator stop working. No gas is coming out to ignite the flame.i tryed to find a replacement on Coleman site and on the internet was unsuccessful. The grill is useless to me and a waste of money.i don’t recommend this unless you only want it for a short period of time.

Awesom grill
This grill is amazing. I purchased it for my husband for camping trips since he hate lugging around are larger grill when we do our large family camping trips. This grill was able to handle burgers, hot dogs and steaks out for our large (22 people) quickly family quickly. And didn’t take up a lot room.

Issues with drip pan, cleaning, wheels.
I wish there was a better system for drip pan. The bottom inside is flat so not all grease goes into drip pan, some stays in bottom of body... drips in trunk of car unless I tear completely apart and clean prior to travel. Wheels are loose and bowed out. Otherwise I am very happy with it!

Just bought this grill - FAILURE!
I was assembling the grill - I opened up the package, sorted out the parts, and immediately noticed there were no spacers (Item D in the horribly written documentation) already. If you can't even provide all the necessary equipment to assemble the grill, how can you call it quality?

Perfect for Empty Nesters.
We no longer need, nor have room, to feed a big family. Having downsized our home the Coleman Sportster Grill is perfect for two people or maybe 4 if you are cooking burgers. It gets flaming hot very quickly (750 degrees in 5 min.) and does not use a lot of propane. We love it.

Poor quality
I gave it a two because it it did cook . The unit does not lock when it is folded down so the barbecue flips backwards when you try and wheel it on the wheels. Spend a few more dollars and try and find a built model you can look at before you buy .

Not Coleman quality
I’m used to high quality and durability from Coleman products. This grill is not either.
Grease pan is poorly designed. Grill is not hot. Handle broke after 1st year. Leg screws feel out after 2nd year. It a cheap grill and it’s cheaply deigned.

Great little grill
I have the Sportster and have used it A LOT over 7 years and I do mean a lot. Yes burner went out because I use it a lot at our D Log cabin and travels Love it. Plus it has sat out in weather sun, snow, rain, year round and never ever failed me.

Great Looking Grill

Bought thru Walmart last year only to find out if you need parts such as a new grate they no longer have parts anymore, wish i would have known before I bought!! Also hard to regulate the heat

The worst detections on how to put together. The instruction that came with it are worthless and tell you nothing, can not even find a YouTube video on how this stupid thing goes together.
