Rated 1 out of 5 by Nick Vadasz from From a top quality product to cheap and worthless Bought this to replace an older Coleman cooler that got damaged, looked the same as the old one but very cheap quality. The latch is no longer the steel hook style but some useless over sized bulge that goes into a piece of plastic that doesn't hold the lid down for anything. My old Coleman cooler used to keep ice for 3-4 days, now I'm lucky if I have ice at the end of the first day. Thank you Coleman for years of great products but since you quality has gone to from a 10 to a 1 and the price is outrageous for what you get now, I'll never buy any of your products ever again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Chase from Which genius designed the plastic latching system? A $.10 part could make this cooler great.... Bought this cooler because it reminded me the one I grew up camping with. Good sturdy cooler, steel belted, and Made In USA, as it should be. Took it on its first trip that weekend and immediately realized a major design flaw/cop-out by Coleman. The latching system. The handle and latch bolt are made of metal but THE STRIKE PLATE AND THE CLIP THAT ATTACHES IT ARE BOTH MADE OF PLASTIC!! The strike plate pops out and falls off under the slightest amount of pressure. The original Coleman cooler had all metal components and lasted for years, who had the bright idea to cheap out and add plastic parts to the locking mechanism???? If you are like me and are going to buy this cooler because you want to support american manufacturing be sure to call Coleman first and demand they change their latching system back to the original design before paying $100 + for a cooler that wont stay closed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JohnG77 from Does not keep ice long. I filled my bro-in-laws cooler (the one holding ice) and my cooler (iceless) about two hours apart. Each had 20 lbs of ice in them and each were kept overnight in the same room, same temperature with the a/c on in my house. My bro-in-laws was filled first, mine second. Mine as you can see won't even keep the ice overnight in an a/c house. His did. I guess I would buy with caution if you do decide to purchase this cooler. That latch on mine seems to have a little more wiggle than my bro-in-laws..maybe that's part of the issue???

Rated 4 out of 5 by frank90 from Almost like my dad's! Like the title reads this is almost like my dad's trusty & well traveled Coleman metal ice chest. It holds a lot of pop (as well as adult beverages) & food. There are only a few things I would have liked to see on this one that were in the original model- a food tray would have been nice, a metal lid with a tighter fitting latch, & the bottle opener beneath one of the handles (for those afore mentioned adult beverages). The only other thing I noticed was that it seemed smaller than my dad's, but then again as a child everything seemed bigger; remember that scary sledding hill behind the house? lol Those things aside this is a great cooler made by a great company & I would buy it again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kodac48 from Misleading I'd been wanting a cooler like this for long time. My company gives really cool awards from a catalog for every 5 years service. Each time the awards are more expensive. For my 15 years service I chose this cooler because it stated up to 4 days staying cold. It doesn't. Ice is melted by the end of 1st day. Still cold into the 2nd day but you have to drain water and add more ice. My lighter plastic cooler with wheels did just as good. Soooooo disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by MikeP from Vintage look, not so vintage quality Received this cooler last year (2017) as a Father's Day gift. After one year May 2018, the plastic top fell off. Please keep your receipt as it is required for a warranty claim....

Rated 5 out of 5 by 614Splatty from Old meets new This purchase was to upgrade to a new Coleman steel belted cooler. The original was purchased back in the 70's. Why do I still have the box? Usually the boxes I have are for items that no longer exist. The price has definately gone up. See photo. The new cooler is of the same quality and I hope it to last another 40 years like the first. Same features only 2 quarts smaller. Both versions made in the USA!

Rated 1 out of 5 by James L from Latch does not latch Not to pile on the hate train, but why did they have to ruin such a great cooler? My parents have had an older model for over 15 years and that thing is totally bomb proof. This one simply sucks. With even the lightest tug, the latch mechanism will rip out of the latch housing. So the latch doesn't latch. Now I get to figure out how to return it and find a cooler that actually works.
