Outstanding brightness!
I have had this product for a little while to put it through the paces. This relatively small unit packs a punch in the "light" department. It's also very easy to use too. There are a few settings, even an emergency flashing setting which is a wonderful safety feature. I've been using it on my patio at nights, it looks great and gives me enough light to serve food and even read outside. Will take on hiking camping trips. The blue is so pretty as well!

First impression: It looks like a 200A!
I have had a number of Coleman LED lanterns over the years. This one absolutely captures the vibe of the original 200A lantern. Most of my older Coleman LED lanterns still work and I expect this one to do the same. Besides the cool vibe that this lantern exudes, I like the fact that it provides several light intensity options in addition to an emergency flashing option if needed. This lantern produces a more natural and diffused light unlike the annoying blue/white light that some of my older Coleman LED lanterns produce. I have included a photo of how the light compares to an original fuel version. You can tell that this LED lantern produces a light very similar, although not nearly as bright, as the original it was designed to look like. So, overall first impressions: I like the light it produces, the options for brightness are several, It is IPX4 water resistant and should be able to withstand a tumble off a picnic table. Finally, I like the feel of bail handle with built-in-carabiner for hanging convenience... a nice touch.

A must have
I am so happy with my Classic 500L Lantern Blue Nights Lantern, I love the settings it has (just click the knob for each one and go from small light, meduim size light, to big bright light or you can set it to a flashing light reminds you of a flame burning. This lantern is beautifully made and a must have for any camping adventure or even when the power goes off. I highly recommend this lantern and I will be buying more of these to use for all of our needs for light.

Good Battery Lantern
Purchased this on line from Coleman along with a new dual fuel gas 424 stove. This was purchased for use in the tent and other spaces you wouldn't use a propane or gas lantern. Works great, no problems, easy on batteries and shines bright. We mostly used the low setting as it was bright enough for the tent. Overall I would recommend and I would buy again. Pros - easy on batteries, can use D cell rechargeable, multiple light settings for different situations, nice "carabiner-like" handle making it easy to safely hang, long lasting LED light, safe and easy to use/kid-safe.
Cons - plastic, not sure how durable it will be.

Nice features!!
This lantern is very light and easy to carry. But it is also very sturdy and strong. It has four settings. Three brightness settings and one setting where it flashes. The brightest setting is very bright. It can be hung up inside of a tent or anywhere. It won’t weigh the tent down. It uses D batteries.

Nice and bright
I love Coleman lanterns and the classic 500l is no exception. It’s designed to look like an old fashioned fuel oil lantern down to the texture on the led light cover. It has 4 settings of brightness and does a great job during power outages or at the campsite. It uses 4 D cell batteries but isn’t heavy like some of my old battery lanterns. I’m glad to have it.

Bright!
This lantern is so bright! It runs of 4 DD batteries but doesn't drain the batteries like others I have owned. It is very light weight and easy to add to any gear. I like the clip on the handle so I can just attach it to the bag as we hike.

Very Bright
I was really impressed how bright this battery operated lantern is. At 500 Lumens its perfect to light up the general area. Has a classic design and very authentic to the actual lantern. As a camping family this is a safe alternative for use inside tents. Material is durable and it has a nice handle that stores down beside the lantern instead of sticking out. One thing that stuck out is the mantle like bulb, this lends to its authentic look.
