VERY long story, broke globe on current lantern, tried to order new one from website, after several back & forths, was told part was no longer mfd, obsolete. Ordered a new lantern (which is another story), received it, has same globe I tried to order in first place, was in Ace, found the "obsolete" part.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Affordable and works great I picked up this lantern and a Coleman outlet on sale for $20. Its definitely proven to do what I need. There are brighter ones to choose from but this is fine for me. The durability could be a little better. I did a review on youtube you can see, just look up my "nickname".

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaky Shut Off Valve Caused Fire I have used Coleman products for over 50 years and have a Coleman lantern and three Coleman stoves which have give fawless service for over 40 years. I recently bought a QuickPack lantern which after a few hours of service burst into flames. The shut off valve developed a propane leak which ignited the plastic base. I returned the QuickPack lantern and bought a Coleman North Star.

Comparing this model against my old Dual Fuel which was rated at about 700 lumens, the Dual Fuel makes this 810L look like a very dim flashlight bulb. Perhaps I happened upon a lemon, but the 810L I bought has never done better than to waste propane. Will not be purchasing it again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from works great, but crazy burn hazard no complaints at all with the light or usability, my only issue is if its not your lantern, you may not know how crazy hot the top is. Coleman could have at the very least painted the top red with the word HOT on it...or better yet created an extra baffle to keep the top from getting quite so crazy hot. It would cost, what, 5 cents? Family member is dealing with 3rd degree burns (but fortunately small) because he thought that little nut on top was loose and tried to tighten it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dangerous handle The cary handle comes off and i see no design or instruction on how to make it secure . The handle is the best way to keep a lantern from falling over , if it is secure to the lantern and hanging from a lantern stand or other secure place. A dog chain or similar is a great way to hang from a secure high support. A high placement in a camp gives great light over wide area and prevents accidents But the handle must be secure as well as the point from which it hangs!! The Protective case isnt going to prevent damage wen the handle won't stay attached. Also there is no cover to protect the bottle attachment. Open to threds and gas orfice seems likely toget dirt water or ice . A bucket would provide better protection. Even without a lid but Obviously better with a lid and a good carry handle

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quick Ignition does not work I gave it 3 out of 5 stars because I can still manually light the lantern and it works fine. The quick ignition just won't light and that was the main selling point for me to buy this product. I've tried several times along with moving the spark point distance. Other than that one thing it works fine for me.
