Rated 5 out of 5 by from AA batteries rule! Excellent item I have used for years. I string em above areas where I want on/off lights in camp. Wrap em along a line with the battery box at a convenient location. A simple on/off button even kids can use. And since kids often forget to turn off...AA batteries really help. [AAA, solar and rechargeable batteries like to lose power at exactly the wrong time (you're camping!)]. Orient your whole program to AA batteries and simplify things (you're camping!). Headlamps are #1 emergency/go-to lights. As they dim, rotate in fresh batteries and move the dim ones to a secondary use. At the bottom priority I have a couple nightlight led globes I want on all night ...where dim batteries go to die (you're camping!)

We are Coleman people through and through, so I thought these would be a special treat at the campsite , although they were more money than I would usually spend for this type item. Bought 3 strings to go the length of the camper awning. Bought battery operated since we often state park camp with only generator twice a day. ONE string lit for one weekend. Two strings NEVER lit and the third one didn't light the second weekend. We are not novices at this and believe me, I checked every single thing at least three times because I thought I must be doing something wrong. Since we bought them way before camping season,the time for return had passed. Money down the drain -- Coleman, I am so disappointed in you!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't last! I was given the set of Coleman String Lights as a gift, and got barely one season out of them. They were not stored in the camper, as we don't store any electronics in the camper due to temperature extremes. Used on one trip, very disappointing.
