Montana™ 8-Person Tent
Set up a home base with some extra sleeping space with the Coleman® Montana™ 8-Person Tent. An extended door awning creates a dry space to store gear and enter the tent. If it rains, the included rainfly and the WeatherTec™ system with its patented welded floors and inverted seams will help you stay dry. Additionally, angled windows, which you can keep open in the rain, help keep the water out while allowing for extra air circulation. Setup is simple with snag-free, continuous pole sleeves and the patented pin-and-ring system. A hinged door makes for easy comings and goings. Inside, there's enough room to stretch out on three queen-sized airbeds, and storage pockets help to keep small items organized. When it's time to head home, the tent easily packs up into an expandable carry bag with a rip strip until you're off on your next adventure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Satisfiedcust from Great tent, not so easy to follow instructions So, the tent is GREAT! The instructions are not. Coleman color coded the tent poles, which would be helpful except they didn’t tell you what the colors mean. The instructions were mislabeled and I was confused about which pole to use. I happened to glance at the Spanish sheet to see if it was labeled differently, and it was! I don’t speak Spanish, but using the Spanish instructions were more helpful than the English. The tent itself is very good. I don’t care much for the Velcro used on the hinged door. After one day of use, the Velcro was coming off. Also, the door wouldn’t always latch to the Velcro easily. Other than that, I love the hinged door and the tent overall

Rated 5 out of 5 by jjk149 from Spacious and "homey" We've used this tent as our home away from home at least two dozen times or so and it has been a blessing each time. Set-up is quick and easy. The "D" door is a wish come true! It eliminates the cumbersome zipper when you need to come and go frequently, but still keeps the bugs out, then just zip it closed when you are ready to settle in. The high ceiling is a must for my husband who is 6 foot tall and still has plenty of room to spare. All in all this has been one of our favorite Coleman purchases so far. Price, quality and ease of use are all rolled into one great product. Keep up the great work Coleman!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bobanis from Great Tent I have used this tent for 2 seasons now - I also have the 4 person fast pitch tent. I use this one, the Montana when there will be more of us in the tent. I typically have 4 adults and 2 children in this. 2 Queen sized mattress fit perfectly with room to spare for a few sleeping bags for kids.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Quimby23 from Not very durable. Zippers and poles failed 8 or so uses the zippers and the door pole failed. After being a lifelong avid Coleman user (passed down from my father) i have collected many Coleman products some of which are over 30 years old. I have never experienced an issue with any one of these products until i purchased this tent. On the first use the carbon pole in the door broke on the first day of my camping trip. I used tape to fix the issue. Use number 2 another piece of carbon in that pole broke so i used more tape to fix it. Use number 8 (this past weekend) the zipper on the door failed completely. I gave Coleman plenty of opportunity to make this failure right in my eyes (replace the tent or repair the zipper) but because i am out of warranty the best they were willing to do is a 25% discount on the purchase of a new tent via the Coleman website...... I'm not sure that I would want to spend any more money on another tent with the same quality??

Rated 1 out of 5 by SaraDy from Nice and roomy, but leaks badly in the rain We loved the spaciousness of this tent and it was easy to set up. But it's only meant for dry weather camping. Their "Weathertec Stay Dry Guarantee" as stated on the packaging is completely false. In the two times we were rained on, once within the first year we owned it, the rain dripped right through the fabric. Sure the bottom is waterproof, but that doesn't matter if rain is dripping directly on your face and pooling up in the bottom of the tent. We even tried using the Coleman brand waterproofing spray after the first incident and it STILL leaked on us, and it wasn't even raining very hard that time!!! When I contacted Coleman they basically said 'out of warranty, oh well' so they clearly don't stand by their products for very long. Once a long time Coleman customer, now a never again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Seas from after 2 years, tent is STILL in PERFECT condition! So far, this tent has lasted 5 trips including camping 3 days in windy Wyoming, and a severe thunderstorm in Colorado. Here's what we've done that's managed to keep our Montana 8 like new: (1) always stake down the tent and use the rainfly (2) put a ground tarp under tent (3) Relax, and take your time with set up/take down (ignore Coleman's silly claim of "15 minutes") and expect at least 30 minutes minimum (4) When threading poles through slots, be patient and gentle (not rough or in a hurry) . Use your hand to gently feed tent material over pole as you inch pole through, and then PULL (not push) the pole out the other end (5) don't stake guylines with excessive tension (6) don't be forceful with zippers (if any of your staked guylines put noticeable tension near seams, OR zippers are reluctant to zip: push on tent wall, or pull tent fabric in the same direction you plan to move zipper, all the while keeping an eye on tent fabric so you don't blindly cause a snag)... These 6 tips have literally kept our tent looking like new, and performing like a champ. Bottom Line: be good to this tent and it will be good to you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mldgrave from Durable and reliable My husband and I just got home from 7 nights of camping in Moab, UT. This was our first time tent camping and my husband received the ten as appreciation of 10yrs service at his employer. 2 nights early in our vacation there was record setting weather, thunderstorms with wind gusts of 60 miles per hour. The tent held up well and did not leak, tear nor the rain cover come off. We used cots w/sleeping bags and still had plenty of room for our bags, coolers and dog bed. We are so pleased and surprised at how well the tent weather the bsd and good weather. Would recommend for sure

Rated 5 out of 5 by adubh@bigD from Plenty of room at an affordable price! I arrived late in Colorado and found myself setting up for the first time in the dark. It went great! Easy set up and plenty of room! The Montana handled the light to moderate winds and rain of Buena Vista without a hitch!
