Rated 3 out of 5 by CloudedK from Good design, poor qc, worse warranty service The tent was purchased as an online order from Walmart (only vendor I know that sells it). When I got it home, one of the pair of awning poles was wrong (two lefts rather than a left and a right), and the duffle had a broken plastic bottom with a zipper already burst in 3 places. Coleman's warranty service appears to be based solely on initial contact by phone, and not designed for quick turn around. I'm using my own duffle, and I was able to drill a correct hole and re-rivet the pole so the tent is working well for me, though I hesitate to ever buy another Coleman tent without fully assembling it in store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JoeCamper from The Big Easy We have only used it once. It is a really big tent, bigger than most bedrooms. Room for two queens, air beds that is, and room to walk. A front door and a back door, but only poles to make one a swing door, which is a really great feature. It is also very easy to assemble, about ten minutes the very first time out of the box. It also comes with a hard bottom case on wheels for storage. The only problem is that one of the zippers on one of the doors is defective and would not open at all. Good thing there are two doors, because only one works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CarolO from Engineered to perfection! For 2 people, this is a hotel room that sets up in 15 minutes. We use a queen air mattress and 2 camping chairs. The chairs go out in the morning and back at bedtime. A 12 ft round tarp is a perfect ground cloth. The steel poles in the ceiling and corners make a strong building. The full fly means full protection. On nice days we open all windows and nap in the breeze or sit and read when we need a rest. Our "yurt" becomes a "gazebo." Rain and wind has never been a problem. We have even extended the camping season with a heater (though not efficient, it works). The headroom is awesome. Of all the Coleman Tents we've had, this is a crown jewel. We applaud the engineers. The design is simple enough to manufacture well, set up easily, live in comfortably, take down easily, store easily, and is better than a camper for all these reasons! Kudos!

Rated 5 out of 5 by MAAWWKK from Best car camping tent there is! My wife and I purchased this tent for a weekend getaway in Acadia National Park in early August. We did a lot (months) of shopping around and reading reviews and ultimately decided between the Coleman Steel Creek Fast Pitch Dome Tent with Screen Room, 6-Person and the Octagon 98 Full Fly. The Octagon far exceeded our expectations, it had more than enough square footage to store our supplies, setup a queen air-mattress, with plenty of room to walk around and easy entry/exit. The two door entry/exit is a nice touch, however, we only used the amazing hinged door for this trip. Not having to zip and unzip every time you enter and leave the tent was a very nice touch as the hinged doors kept the mosquitos out with no issues. The tent setup took about 10 minutes, however, it was super easy with the color-coded poles. I should note, I set it up with my wife and cannot comment on trying to do it on your own. The quality of the tent, poles and floor was great especially for the money. We had rain and no issues with rain getting in the tent. One note is the rain fly can only be zippered open/close from outside the tent which could be an issue if you wake up at night to pouring rain and scramble to find a light and shoes to go outside and close it up. However, that was a hypothetical comment as we did not run into this issue. We fully zipped up the fly at night time and let some air in through the door vents which can be zipped open/close from the inside. On a complete opposite note, if you know the weather is going to be nice you can take off the rain fly entirely and enjoy gazing at the stars through the expansive mesh roof! I've had plenty of experience using 2, 4, 6 person tents and it can get stuffy especially with an air-mattress and camping supplies and will say that having this octagon and large square footage was stress free. This is a very heavy tent and I would only recommend it for car camping. Our friends had the Coleman Steel Creek Fast Pitch tent in the site next to us and while the screened porch area was nice they didn't use it much and it took away a lot of valuable real estate inside the actual tent. At the end of the weekend, they agreed the Octagon was the better choice. I highly recommend it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dan H from Easy to set up. Love how the poles were designed to go in/out easily. Wasn't clear from the description, but the hinged door is only for one side of the tent. Shape of tent makes it difficult for 4 air mattresses...tried to get three twins and a queen and it didn't work. Tent height is fantastic, and the rain fly design is great - full coverage, but able to be opened fully to let air in as needed. Ordered directly from Coleman...customer service was helpful, but didn't quote me the full price as they were running my credit card, which I thought was unusual...quoted $209 and ran my card for $224. Claimed they hadn't factored in taxes when giving me the quote.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Solisflos from Simple & Spacious Great for our three day getaway with friends this weekend. Tons of space for us, beds, food, and gear. Rained the whole first day and not a drop of water inside! Loved having the curtain style rain fly flaps for ventilation and light. Easy to assemble and disassemble. Height was very useful for dressing and playing charades lol.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Bri Ox from Cheap bag broke right away The tent is durable and spacious. We set it up and we were in love! We can’t wait to take it camping this weekend. My only complaint is that the bag ripped. This would be a 5 star review if not for the bag. I contacted customer service and they said the bag could not be replaced. Like, not for free and not even for a few. That is a huge disappointment! How on earth are we going to be able to lug this heavy tent around properly without a bag! I’m fairly disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Suzanne16 from Best tent I’ve had! I’ve had a few Coleman tents and this one is by far my favorite. This tent and two fly is extremely easy to put up. With 2 people it probably took about 10 minutes. It is very durable and has a ton of room in it. It also handles extremely well in storms! I’ve camped in it with 2 other people for 2 weeks straight and it was perfect. The full rain fly does a great job at keeping water out. I would recommend this tent to anyone!
