Additional Information

Take some cold drinks on your next road trip while leaving the ice at home with a Coleman® 40 Quart PowerChill™ Thermoelectric Cooler. More than a cooler, but not quite a refrigerator, it cools up to 40 °F below the surrounding temperature without any ice. So if you use your cooler in an environment where the temperature is 70 °F, this cooler will maintain an internal temperature around 30 °F. You can use it like you would any other cooler except, instead of throwing ice inside, you simply plug in the 12V car power adaptor. Then add your pre-chilled drinks and snacks. Your cooler will reach maximum coldness in about three hours (you can speed this up by adding Coleman® ice substitutes) and stay cold as long as it's plugged in. Large enough to hold 44 cans, you'll have plenty of space for refreshments for the whole trip, and you can keep all your contents organized with the storage tray. It fits easily into almost any vehicle, especially since you can lay it down for use as a chest cooler or turn it upright to fit in narrower spaces. The door converts to open from the right or left sides to offer even more placement flexibility. No matter where you set it up or how far you travel, with this cooler, you can always be sure to have some cold refreshments on hand to keep you going during your adventure.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Works good when everything is working I use in a semi truck. The fans go in 3-6 months. I replace them and get another 3-6 months. After 12-15 months the cooler unit fails. So sad, how much would it cost more to put in good ball bearing fans and step up cooler unit. Very disappointed in Coleman on this. And, they will not sell the internal fan to repair, they just sell outside fan. I continue to buy them because even with their miserable life expectancy it is less expensive than buying ice on road for my trucking job. I suspect the 12v power has something to do with all this. However, not all Trucks have power inverters or cats either. Godspeed to you and Coleman research dept. please fix this nonsense. What good are profits from annoyed customers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A shadow of a once great product I'm an over the road driver, and have in recent years had to buy multiple units. They don't last anymore, and you can't buy repair motors as you used to at travel stops. The price went up and the quality went down. The dual motor version is a travesty vs the old single motor.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked While it Lasted Worked all last summer (June to September) and a 6 weeks this summer (early June to July 7). Then the fan died or something. The power LED flashes quickly and the fan tries to start but doesn't. Of course.... just over the 1 year warranty. Other than the power, it is a sturdy product, might still be useful as a cooler, but probably not full with ice since the fan unit goes through the sidewall. Will not buy again, sadly. Sorry.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It lasted exactly 4 days I bought this cooler at Walmart 1 year ago. The power thing lasted 4 days, then it stopped working. I couldn't return it to Walmart because I had thrown away the original carton that had the bar code, so they wouldn't accept returns. I regret so much I bought this. total waste of money. Coleman probably won't help me too as I didn't buy from them. It takes a few hours to cool down when you first plug it and the thing is REALLY cold.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from convenient and portable This cooler is versitile as you can stand it up to work with the door opening hoizontally or lay it down and open it as a standard cooler. The unit keeps item cold when pluged in to your car outlet or with the AC econverter. I haven't tried the heat option as yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good system! I leave Oregon and head to Colorado to see my kids and the cooler plugged in to keep my drinks and stuff cold. I've been camping and it worked great keeping things cold. I'm very impressed with your thurmo coolers. I have 2 of them and I'm using it right now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great keeps things cold on the go I can’t wait to use this when I’m camping. Right now I use it going home from the store to keep my groceries from spoiling. I can stop and eat and don’t have to worry about everything going bad.
