My kids and I have been camping out in our yard. There are insect netting that can be zippered down for ventilation. After use, this tent packs nicely into the bag with handles. Awesome tent for backyard or for the woods.

It's dark inside as stated and will easily fit a queen size airbed with approximately 8'x1'5"of space left for any additional items. The tent worked very well with keeping insects out and stood up to a little wind (I didn't tie it down). However, the tent I received had a tiny manufacture "L" shape tear on the second entry door of the tent. Hopefully, Coleman can assist me with resolving this issue. Other than this, I am happy with my purchase and want to continue to use it for years to come.

Darkroom technology kept the tent very cozy to be in during the day. My favorite part is the weatherproof screen room. This tent does lack on the airflow and venting but a fair trade to have the darkroom technology.

I love that the bag for this is extendable so it actually fits back in the bag. There was plenty of room for my husband, my daughter and I. We also liked the screen room for keeping things that we didn't want laying outside while we slept. There are also pockets to keep things like your keys and phones wich was nice. I do feel the dark room technology did help with the heat and the sunlight compared to our regular old tent.

Took it to a weekend music camp out and were able to sleep in well past sunrise! The black out technology is so worth it! Also super easy set up! We are gonna go this weekend to New Hampshire and we’re going to use this tent again and we cannot wait to put it to use will review again after another great camping experience !

We took this camping in Northern Arizona where monsoon season is at full swing this time of year. During the day, we were able to retreat into our tent for comfortable naps. When it poured on us in the mornings, there was no sign of any water! Only giving 4-stars due to the main body of the tent not having a window. Darkroom tech is great for the summer! It’s also really dark in the tent. Like pitch black dark.

I stayed in it with my girlfriend one night it does get very hot in there but there are screens in the side that you can zip up or down. We got our queen air mattress in there it took some time to do it but we got it in there. Where the screen room is condensation came through even with the cover on top I'm now sure how that happens but we slept just fine in there

The only reason i had to buy a new tent was last Dark Room Coleman tent had a break in tent pole. Coleman changed tent design and did not offer replacement parts. I adore this Dark Room style tent, the headspace is ideal for small family sharing the tent.

The darkening room was great to keep out the light so sleeping was a breeze. The tent is quit roomy and comfortable, it held four people plus all our stuff easily. It rained the second night but we were nice and dry inside, very waterproof.

With a quick setup under 5 minutes, this amazing Camping Tent lets me enjoy more time with friends and family on every camping trip. There is plenty of room to stretch inside the spacious interior of this tent as well as the nearly vertical walls offer 20% more headroom, and a wide door design means enables me to move air beds, sleeping bags, and other gear in and out with ease. The Dark Room technology of this tent blocks 90% of sunlight and reduces heat inside the tent so that I can rest at any time in comfort. Moreover, the WeatherTec system's tub-like floor, patented welded corners, and inverted seams help keep you and your gear dry. The strong frame has been tested to withstand up to 35 mph winds, as well as the Mesh storage pockets and a gear loft keep small items organized. Also, fits 1 queen-size air bed. I am totally in love with this awesome tent and just cannot think of using any other tent, as well as carry this tent to every backpacking and camping trips. In fact, I have already recommended the Coleman 4-Person Dark Room Skydome Camping Tent to many of my friends and family and several of them have already purchased and used this tent in their camping trips and they all love using this spacious and functional tent a lot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kenneth85 from Nice tent but not really for big or tall persons First of all, I am 6ft 2inches and mid to upper 50's and have done hard manually labor for employment most my adult life. So, my joints and back have some miles on them. I found the entrance was too short 4ft 6in I believe. I had to get down on my hands and knees to get in and out of the tent. In the sleeping area the was enough room for my Coleman Tritech Air Mattress Queen 22” mattress. But there was less then 2ft or less room left over on one side and had to leave the inner door open to be able to get in and out of bed. The screen area is only big enough for storage not big enough to put a chair in and sit there. I will admit with most the windows covered up with the rainfly it was a little stuffy in there. So if your close to 6ft or more or don't like to get down on your hands and knees and crawl in or out of the tent would not recommend it. But for kids or shorter persons it would be a good tent for them. As far as putting it up even doing it myself was really easy and had no problems.

It keeps us dry when there is rain and it also shades the light. It is very easy to put up and take down within minutes. It is made of great material and is very durable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jereome from A nice tent but not made for Texas summers. This is a good tent with plenty of good features but the bad things would prevent me from buying this tent. First I will cover the good. Quality the tent appears to made of quality components and doesn't appear cheap at all. I expect it will last me for quite a long time. Dark room the tent advertises that it has dark room technology and it does a good job with this. If you go camping in this tent you can expect to sleep a few hours later because it filters out quite a bit of sunlight. Setup time. This tent is very easy to set up and sets up pretty quickly but not in 5 minutes as they advertise. I would say it takes at least 15 minutes to set it up. The bad. While its nice that this tent is dark and the rainfly does a great job at preventing light from entering the tent but it also covers up the windows which prevents adequate airflow. Which would make camping in summers hell unless you remove the rainfly. My suggestion would be to reengineer the rainfly so that you can get protection from the rain but also get adequate airflow.

The easiest tent I’ve ever set up for sure, and now having done it once I’m confident in 5 minutes you could be up and running. It fit my 7 year old son, 10 year old daughter with me right down the middle. There really wasn’t any more space in the tent, which is why the enclosed patio area was perfect for putting our packs and shoes etc. The only drawback is the opening is pretty low and even for a 5’10” guy like myself you have to bend over in half to get through it, but its plenty wide that’s no problem, unless you’ve been hiking all day and old and sore. Definitely would recommend this tent for car camping and even some short hiking/back packing trips. I wouldn’t want to carry it for more than a few mile, but could be easily doable. Didn’t get to test out the ‘Dark Room’ feature as we were up before dawn, but the few times I was in it setting it up during the evening it definitely seemed like it was keeping almost all light out. Had to put the lantern up from the center support to be able to see enough to put sleeping mats/bags in.

I would NOT recommend this tent for a family -- there is no ventilation unless you remove the rainfly and it is one of, if not *the*, hottest tents I've ever been in. unless you're camping in 100% shade at all times or the day the tent becomes a dry sauna. the lack of ventilation also leads to a problematic level of condensation. we camp at high altitude in the Colorado Rockies with low humidity and get "rained" on every morning with condensation. the "quick setup" features are also very annoying as you cannot remove the tent poles. this makes both set up and take down very clumsy. simply color coordinating all corners would make much more sense. it's myself, my toddler and sometimes my husband -- we fit comfortably but if I was to be forced into another Coleman purchase it would definitely not be a tent with darkroom technology. we hoped the darker room would help with naps at camp but it's so hot in the tent when the rainfly is on we are yet to feel comfortable or safe with a tent nap. it is incredibly dark inside -- to the point you'll need a headlamp to set up the interior if it's not mid-day. this may be great for some people but not being able to see your hand in front of your face in the middle of the night is not at all helpful if a child wakes up or needs to be repositioned. we now sleep with a light on all night. overall, I regret this purchase. we got it because we needed more space with our toddler. we've used it ~7 times in various campground vs dispersed camping settings. I would not buy it again and I would not recommend it. we are getting rid of it as soon as I can justify buying a new tent.

Please be advised that waterproof materials do not 100% translate to a waterproof tent. The waterproofing of the tent is measured by our rain testing, which simulates a 6&quot; per hour rain. To make our tents as waterproof as possible we tape all of the rainfly seams, use our WeatherTec inverted seams in other area, and use a patented welding process. We also enhance storm worthiness by our rainfly designs. Specifically our rainflies extend in such a way that runoff or dripping water is unlikely to fall on a door or window area when the tent is properly setup and guyed. Last we use polyester tent bodies and rainflies, which adds inherent waterproofing as polyester is a hydrophilic (water-fearing/shedding/repelling) material.
