Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible quality I dare anyone to try and get both mantles from a single pack to actually work. It's pretty sad when you install a brand new mantle and it rips apart on burn in before you even light the lantern. These new Insta-Clip 2 mantles are awful and shouldn't be sold. Find an older package of Insta-Clip 1 mantles and compare the 2 side by side and you can fill the difference in quality. The older Insta-Clip 1 tube mantles will burn in nicely without any rips and produce a much brighter light once you actually get to light the lantern. Dear Coleman, I will gladly drive to Wichita to meet with the mantle production line and bring a bunch of the older Insta-Clip 1 mantles to show the difference in quality so that y'all can get back to making #95s that actually work. You can't have a proprietary lantern mantles that only works on your products and then make the mantle so awful that it can't be used. Buying a new pack of Insta-Clip 2 mantles is literally like throwing 8 dollars in the toilet and flushing it. Seriously Coleman, fix this issue. You know I'm not the first person to say this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good, no issues so far. Purchased as spares for my northern Nova lantern. So far , no problems with burning them in or with the lantern in operation. I strongly suggest reading the instructions on the mantel packet and burn them in before lighting the lantern.

It&amp;rsquo;s a quick step that helps the mantle form its proper shape.&#10;&#10;To do this, clip the mantle in place, then carefully ignite the bottom of it with a match or lighter while the lantern is off. It will shrink, turn white, and form a delicate ash shell. Once it&amp;rsquo;s fully burned in and cooled, you can light the lantern normally.
