Description
The 1000 Lumens LED Lantern with BatteryGuard™ stops battery drain so you have power when you need it most. Conventional lanterns experience residual power drain as long as batteries are connected to the circuit. With BatteryGuard, batteries are automatically disengaged from the circuit when the lantern is turned off to extend their life by as much as 25%. It also reduces the chance of damaging corrosion so batteries can be stored in the device for years (up to their inherent shelf life). Additional features include a rotating dial to switch between high, medium, low, and flashing modes, up to 14 hours runtime on high using 4 D batteries (sold separately), water resistance, impact resistance up to 2 meters (on dirt), and lifetime LED bulbs that never need replacing. No matter the situation, this BatteryGuard lantern with a 16-meter beam gives you Power When You Need It™.

Overpriced
This was a very disappointing product. Its materials appear to be made of cheap quality and when installing batteries it would not close nor would the lid unscrew. It is stuck without being able to open or close it. I am not sure of its brightness because I can not open it or close it.

Battery compartment issues
We have always purchased Coleman products and had great experiences. This lantern battery won’t open or close properly making the item completely useless. Started with customer service months ago sent in what they asked for and still no response. Sent it again today! Very disappointed

Battery compartment design flawed
I bought this in Dec 2021. I just tried to use it today, Feb. 21,2022. I put the batteries in and now can’t get the compartment to close. We are in the middle of a ocean snowstorm and have no power. Bought this light specific for these issues. Bought Coleman on top of it due to positive brand experience in the past. Why do you not fix this design instead of just perpetuating the problem by continuing to sell. Very disappointed in this product snd Coleman.

Impossible to install batteries
The reason it saves on battery life is because you can never install them in the first place. We’ve had 4 adults and 2 teens attempt to get it open to put in batteries and we all give up. It’s now a paper weight. Save your money - the design is flawed.

A very good lantern
I bought one these days and I love it. The light is strong enough, material quality is very good, the size is good too. I have read some people complaining about the batteries compartment, about an issue. I don't have anything to complain. I can close and open very easily. I really don't understand what problem they have with it.

On/Off knob broken
The knob on top of the lantern broke as many others have experienced. What is the part number of the knob?
Many of your replies have been included parts websites to check but this is difficult without the knob part number. Please reply with this part number and better yet how to order.

Don’t buy the junk Battery guard lanterns
I have two battery guard lanterns both are now junk as the cheap on off switch is broken on both of them. And no replacement knobs are available. This is crazy that you can not purchase new knobs.
