Description
Light the night using disposable or rechargeable batteries with the Coleman® CPX® 6 Rugged 400L LED Lantern. CPX® system compatibility lets you choose your power: four D-cell batteries or one CPX® 6 rechargeable power cartridge. This 360° light has two settings — high and low. With a runtime of up to 30 hours on high and 70 hours on low, the sun will come up before you need fresh power. The LEDs run cool and never need to be replaced. The light is designed to reduce glare and create comfortable, streak-free beams.

Wiring, switch, board, or LED Problems
I have one of these, and it's great, when it decides to work.
I believe the date stamp says 0516 (May 2016), so out of warranty, but it should last forever, especially given how little it's been used.
There's problem somewhere in the wiring, board, switch, or LEDs themselves. Maybe a solder issue, I don't know.
It randomly works, but not enough to trust it for camping or an emergency.

Rotten Quality
I purchased the older version of this lamp about 6 years ago. Different bulb and battery, but the same design. I use it a few times and while preparing for a camping trip two weeks ago, brought the lamp out only to find that it was not working. I quickly replaced with an LED lamp from Amazon that did work. My issue with Coleman products is that I remember them as a solid company from years past. Their equipment was durable, reliable, good quality. That seems to be ancient history. I will NEVER buy another Coleman anything. EVER.

Looks like a great lantern but not so
Unfortunately same issue for me as others I see. I wonder if I can get a replacement LED if that will solve the problem. First time I used in a hurricane - worked well. Next hurricane didn’t light. Not sure if connectivity issue or bad LED - brand new batteries and it won’t turn on. Lifetime warranty was the selling point so I hope you honor it.

Battery Lantern Model 5329
Had battery lantern and NEW batteries just in case.In N. California PG&E shut down all electricity. Power went out, No problem says I breaking out new lantern. Put in TESTED new batteries, Lamp did NOT work!! (Bulb also test good. Conclusion bad Switch.

Bad choice
I am a local here on table rock lake and only about a minute and a half from the water. I catfish at least 3-4 nights a week. I have two other colman gas lanterns that I can't get to work so I went a different way. I got this rechargeable one in the 700 lumens. First low is so low seeing your line is impossible and on high is not much better. It might be good for a camp site but for cat fishing leave it at home and take a flashlight. I wish I could trade it back in and get another gas one

Thought this would be a good product!
I bought this lantern several years ago and have never used it because it has never worked. I keep taking it out every couple of months, change the batteries, and think, maybe this TIME! However, my optimism is gone and I am throwing it out. No, I do not want to call and talk about the problems, there are enough reviews to indicate that Coleman has a problem with this product. Just fix it so that the next customer doesn't waste their money.

While many people use it with standard D-cell batteries, it&rsquo;s also compatible with a CPX&reg; 6 rechargeable power cartridge if you prefer a rechargeable setup. To install the batteries in our 400 Lumens Personal LED Lantern with 4D battery, simply turn the lantern upside down, twist off the black bottom, and place the battery inside.
