Description
The Coleman 600 Lumens LED Lantern with BatteryGuard stops battery drain so you'll have power when you need it most. Conventional battery-operated lanterns experience residual power drain as long as batteries are connected to the circuit, even when the device is turned off. With BatteryGuard, the batteries are automatically disengaged from the circuit when the lantern is switched off to extend their life by as much as 25%. This technology also reduces the chance of damaging corrosion so batteries can be stored in the device for years (up to their inherent shelf life). Additional features include a single button to turn the lantern on and off, up to 30 hours runtime on high using 3 D batteries (sold separately), water resistance, impact resistance up to 2 meters (on dirt), and lifetime LED bulbs that never need replacing. No matter the situation, from power outages to roadside emergencies, this BatteryGuard lantern with a 12-meter beam gives you Power When You Need It.

Stopped working

ON-OFF Knob breaks - NOT Recommended
The knob broke on the second use. I have not yet been able to get a replacement. Finding the part on their website is impossible.
DO NOT PURCHASE ANY OF THESE LANTERNS!!
I'm throwing this one out, yet another landfill stuffer.

Good lantern can’t use anymore
Knob breaks. Just look at all the other reviews. It’s ridiculous that they don’t sell replacements considering how bad the problem is or even if they do sell replacements it’s almost impossible to know what to search for.

Not durable.
Bought this lantern in the spring for use at the cabin. It’s been used 3 times this summer with fresh batteries and already it has stopped working and the small rotating switch on the top broke off. While it was working this was a very nice lantern, good size, very bright, it’s just unfortunate that it is not as well made or designed as previous Coleman products I have purchased.

Stopped working after light use, can't be repaired
I picked this lantern up at a box store and it was wonderful while it worked. Like other reviewers, the knob stopped working altogether after a year of only occasional use. In the process of trying to repair it, the inner attachment broke off. Extremely disappointing given how lightly it has been used. It is not appropriate for regular outdoor use.

Great for when the power goes outm
Maybe I just happened to get the batch before things got bad looking at the other reviews and maybe because we don't use it often and outdoors.
We bought ours from a target back in 2019 when we had an extended power outage and its done great to light our rooms when we lose power. The multiple light options are great and have served us well.

Great little lantern
I’ve had this same lantern for years and it’s lasted so long! It’s great when there’s a blackout or when we stay at our cabin. There is a dim mode and a bright mode which is great if you don’t want a harsh light. It does take batteries so keep in mind you will need to change these every now and then.

Coleman Lamp Switch Knob
This a nice handy stationary light for our patio. However, identical to the prior rating, I purchased a Coleman LED lantern and used it only a few times (never dropped or abused) around the home when the top knob for the on/off switch broke at the internal spline rendering the light inoperable

OK lamp. Bad knob. Is replacement knob available?
I see from the other reviews that the knob commonly breaks on this lantern.
I take a pair of pliers along with the lantern when I camp now. Even with the pliers,. it's hard to operate. But better than trashing an otherwise functional item.

Broken knob, DO NOT BUY!
On/off knob completely broke off after only two camping trips. Coleman used to be my go-to for camping supplies, not any more. Completely ridiculous that something as simple as turning it on or off will outright break the product.

Quality For A Lifetime
I camped with Coleman equipment for years and I found that the two lamps I just purchased were of the same quality of my old Coleman lantern and stove which are still in use regularly 50 years later. Can’t beat quality like that.

Great lantern for camping
This lantern worked really good when we went camping at Readwood State Park . Very bright and battery stayed long. My husband loved it and not only use it for camping. He used it at home when power go off. Highly recommend!!

Bottom won't open

Broken Knob
Just like all the other reviews the knob to turn it on and off borke.
I would suggest that no one buys this product.
@Coleman there is no excuse to not have a replacement knob available.

For anyone that finds this, there is a center locating dowel that is keyed (poorly) to one position. But, you can accidentally put it in not directly lined up and it jams. Use something to pry that you can insert and push up in the middle from and it should come loose. Make sure to reinstall in the correct orientation.
