Description
The Coleman 600 Lumens LED Lantern with BatteryGuard stops battery drain so you'll have power when you need it most. Conventional battery-operated lanterns experience residual power drain as long as batteries are connected to the circuit, even when the device is turned off. With BatteryGuard, the batteries are automatically disengaged from the circuit when the lantern is switched off to extend their life by as much as 25%. This technology also reduces the chance of damaging corrosion so batteries can be stored in the device for years (up to their inherent shelf life). Additional features include a single button to turn the lantern on and off, up to 30 hours runtime on high using 3 D batteries (sold separately), water resistance, impact resistance up to 2 meters (on dirt), and lifetime LED bulbs that never need replacing. No matter the situation, from power outages to roadside emergencies, this BatteryGuard lantern with a 12-meter beam gives you Power When You Need It.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from On off knob is very poor quality. Lamps useless I bought three of these lanterns. One after another the on-off knobs on the top began snapping off. The underside of the knobs has almost no support material so these seem designed to fail, or it is an elementary design mistake which is completely inexcusable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Problem Knob A perfectly good and functional lantern has been rendered USELESS by a poorly designed knob. Knob failure appears to be a common and widespread problem with this model. Instead of sending or selling a replacement knob, the company would rather give you a discount to purchase another item from their website. Avoid this item at all costs!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Yet another broken Coleman lantern. I've used this lantern twice, and after two camping trips, the on/off knobs on mine also broke. I would expect this of the innumerable off-brand lanterns you can buy for under $10, but not from a $30 product with the Coleman name. Based on the comments above, this sounds like a real problem, and it's disappointing the Customer Service responses make no effort to right this wrong.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from On/Off Knob Broke First Use The lantern on/off knob broke off the very first time we used this lantern. The plastic snapped inside the knob, making it unusable. I tried to order a replacement piece from eReplacements, which Coleman partners with for their replacement parts, but they no longer carry the part. Disappointed that our lantern did not last us longer than 20 minutes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very disappointed Only used this two times during power outages. As I am preparing for an upcoming storm, turned the knob to be sure batteries are good and the knob broke! Upon reading the reviews I see this is a common issue. I believed colmans to be quality. Sadly proven wrong. Unfortunate as the lantern itself provided great light.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken Knob Bought this in 2020. Worked great up until last week when the knob inexplicably broke while camping. Examining the knob reveals poor craftsmanship as the knob's plastic became weak and brittle despite basic and reasonable use. The most annoying thing is that this occurred outside of Coleman's 3 year warranty. The Coleman brand used to mean something, but the name means nothing now as they have their products cheaply made overseas like most other brands. I will shop elsewhere for my camping needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good choice My husband and I bought these lanterns replace the same ones that finally wore out after seven years of hard almost daily use in camping and lighting up a storage area on the property that has no power running to it. When we are doing fun outdoor activities, they not only light up our tent and picnic table really well, they are also safe to use indoors, as there is no fire danger or harmful fumes. And they are easy on the batteries with both lanterns lasting two weeks of heavy use. If that were not enough, the battery guard feature keeps the batteries from corroading when we do store them. The best part? We can also safely use them in our home during a power outage. Thanks for a good, durable, lantern, Coleman.😃
