Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inferior product design. Bought 2 ea. 600 lumen lanterns about 2 years ago to be used for power outages at home. Checked both units for operation when bought. Operated about 20 minutes to make sure units worked properly. All OK. Stored both units in kitchen pantry without batteries. Unneeded for about 2 years. Power went out last nite. Inserted fresh batteries. One lantern worked. Second lantern worked for about 2 seconds and then simply stopped working. Careful examination of both units exteriors and battery compartments showed them to be identical. Foolishly, I did not save the receipt after initial checkout 2 years ago. My bad for that and for not examining the product for thoughtful design with respect to serviceability. I appreciate that seems like a good idea to make these things idiot proof, but that said, I'm disappointed in the product and won't be buying any more Coleman products.

I know we had the center piece stuck the last time we changed the batteries but here we are again, the center piece is stuck and I can't remember what we did to get it on again. It comes off fine. It just gets stuck going on and then we can't do anything. Coleman - help!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you want a reliable durable outdoor lamp Colema We have the older version of this Coleman lamp as you can see in my picture. These are amazing to keep around for weather disasters. As in floods, you lose your power and you have a reliable Coleman lamp for indoor and outdoor and they are very durable The light is also very bright and this is the best outdoor lamp I have ever owned.

I have not verified the battery life but the documentation indicates it should be pretty good, I do like the top control, very simple to use. Fairly easy to add batteries, the bottom compartment opens up to install the D cells.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from rain will pool around the switch The switch is designed with potential problems which I couldn't overlook. The switch is recessed in a dimple/divet on top of the lantern. I see water pooling there if there is rain. It's IPX4 but I'm not sure that's enough for a rotating switch with water around it.

I have a 45 year old white gas lantern and stove that continue to impress...when we lost power for 3 days last winter I went to buy a "modern" lantern that I could use inside. This lantern felt sturdy and worked well during the outage. After that I put the lantern in my emergency kit. After pulling it out to use on a camping trip the ON button was damaged and fell off. There is no other way to turn it on so it was as useless as a brick for light. It's not the same quality as my other older Coleman products that have been used hard for 45 years and continue to deliver. Not sure how you can even put your name on a substandard product but at least you stand behind it. I called today and spoke to Rodrigo and he is sending me a new on as there are no replacement parts for this lantern. I will never take this product camping but will keep it in a safe location for in home emergencies only. Thanks for standing behind your brand but maybe try and take a page from your founders and make a product that is not only tuff but field serviceable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken power knob no replacement parts Purchased at Lowes. Used once or twice. Very useful lantern with good lighting. On and off knob broke off. No replacement parts. on what level does that make sense???? We use a needle nose pliers to operate, but it is hit or miss and a pain.
