Description
Light the night using disposable or rechargeable batteries with the Coleman® CPX® 6 Rugged XL 700L LED Lantern. CPX® system compatibility lets you choose your power: four D-cell batteries or one CPX® 6 rechargeable power cartridge. This 360° light has two settings — high and low. With a runtime of up to 8 hours on high and 60 hours on low, the sun will come up before you need fresh power. The large bail handle makes it easy to carry anywhere. The LEDs run cool and never need to be replaced. The light is designed to reduce glare and create comfortable, streak-free beams.

Battery holder dose not connect to lantern very secure. Lights flicker and you have to tap it to get it to work, just like an old flashlite

Works and recharges over and over, for me.
Battery is long lasting and when "low", can be recharged conveneniently, over and over with provided 110V wall charger. A great and long lasting (can be recharged so many times, to save money on new batteries, all the time. And, with recharger, on charge, lamp is always ready "to go", brightly, at moments notice and keep providing bright light for good amount of time.

Solid but one unit didn’t work!
We received 2 Coleman lanterns. We have lots of power outages in our area of dallas. We had 2 older lantern/lights that still work but needed 2 new ones. One of the units worked flawlessly but the other wouldn’t power up. I switched the battery units from one to another and it’s the power unit that doesn’t work. Is there any way Coleman can send us a new unit? Otherwise we’re pkeased with the lanterns.

The non-rechargeable rechargeable lantern
Lantern description says it’s rechargeable. It is not supplied with a recharging module. As if this wasn’t disappointing enough, Colman has discontinued the “optional” recharging module and a new module is nowhere to be found. Plenty of other non-Colman rechargeable lantern options in the market. If you’re brand loyal you need to be prepared to be brand disappointed.

I have a motor home and I use this lantern in my screen house. At the low setting I was able to use the lantern 5 to 6 hours per night for 2 weeks.

Poor workmanship.
I bought this for lighting when power is lost. I in fact bought this an another Coleman lantern
I bought this lantern(700 lumens) as a supplemental source of light/ backup to the other Coleman lantern I bought (400 lumens) as backup, just in case. Good thing I did because I have not been able to use the 700 lumen lantern at all so I at least still have the 400 lumen lantern!. Problem is I need two workable lanterns.
I cannot even get the battery pack compartment door open. I am very, very disappointed. Even the illustration showing how to open the compartment is faded out and not clear at all. The other illustrations are crystal clear. That was surely an ominous sign I guess. I have been an avid camper and we always had Coleman equipment...stoves, lanterns, coolers, tents and flys etc.and never had any problems until recently. Honestly, we are due for a big storm and I wanted some reassurance of having light at least. I am a very unhappy camper!

Good product, bad service.
My third and last Coleman lanter. Lantern is fine. They sent a 20% off email and I tried to use it and the website would not take it. I have emailed them about it and have never received a response.

Replacement lantern
I had to buy a complete new lantern because the battery pack in my previous lantern was stuck in the bottom and when I tipped the bottom of the lantern on a workbench the battery pack fell out and smashed to bits on the floor. I do like the lantern for camping, thus I bought a new one.

got it for power outages. love that it takes standard 4D cell batteries that are easy to find in a pinch. very bright even on low, only down side was the o- ring that seals the lid was broken, but was easy to re-install. wish other LED lanterns were like this, simple and effective.

I need a battery

I bought this because replacing D Batteries is much better than charging Big 12Volt battery.
Or better than a chargeable lantern.
Although my plastic globe is easily scratched and has a hole in it. I need a new globe and I can't find one.
