Description
Save money on fuel when you're lighting the way with a Coleman® Kerosene Lantern. It's powered by Coleman® Kerosene, which is out most cost-efficient fuel source. The single-mantle design of this lantern creates a steady, bright glow of up to 700 lumens of light that reaches up to 11 meters away. To get your lantern started, simply add some rubbing alcohol (sold separately) to the primer cup, light the alcohol with a match, then dial in the perfect brightness with the adjustable control knob. Once your lantern is lit, the fuel tank provides a steady base when placed on a table, and the bail handle allows for easy hanging. When you're ready to head home, so is this lantern since it doesn't require any disassembly, which means it's always ready to go with you on your next bright adventure.

Damaged lantern
One of the two Coleman Kerosene lanterns arrived in fine shape. The box looked as if it might have been dropped and the globe on the other lantern,was shattered. Can you send me a replacement globe, or do I need to try to return the whole lantern for replacement?

The only camping lantern. These are the best and the brightest. However changing the fabric inside is toxic and you need to do so carefully! They also can start fires if knocked over and land in grass so please be careful when setting these up as well as using!

In times os good and bad.
I’ve owned many products from Coleman, always been intrigued with the lanterns since my first encounter camping as a youngster with family. Living in Florida most of my life hurricanes have been a constant reminder the need for a reliable light source, always used white gas lanterns as a source of light from the beginning. Fuel is always an issue for long term storage, degradation over time has been a problem for me.
Kerosene turned out to be the answer I was looking for. Researching blogs led me to the Coleman kerosene lantern, high quality, stability, economical and reliability that I was looking for. Is it for everyone? Not really, yes it supplies reliable lighting for those fun times camping, ⛺️ but is indispensable during hurricanes. More work to light by adding alcohol to the preheat the generator, but the safety factor being harder to light kerosene over white gas. My first hurricane was Donna 1960, living in the Florida Keys, now at seventy years young Coleman still offers peace of mind I require. Thank you Coleman.

Quality control now what it used to be.
This is my second kerosene lantern i bought from coleman, the first was perfect but the second one had globe issues ...the globe was just a tad too tall and would not turn with the vent on even the bail wire rubs on the glass ..just waiting for it to break.

Perfect
We love our Coleman kerosene lanterns. We use them when we go camping. We use them when we lose power. They are bright and throw a little heat so that’s helpful in the cold snowy winters suringmm no outages. These are my husbands favorite!

Even with the added step of filling the filling the pre-heater cup this lantern is incredibly easy to use. bright enough to illumate a campsite as good as a Coleman gas - duel fuel - or propane lantern. A well made lantern - recommended.

Love using this to camp
Love this lantern for taking camping. It's very portable and easy to hold and move around. It's durable. The brightness level on it is great. I feel like it's an overall safe lantern when you read and follow the safety instructions.

I really wish that they would bring these back to the store shelves for emergency situations like if power outages and exceptional for camping and also put more of a security guard around the glass in case it would tip over

Review of Kerosene Lantern by longtime customer!
Has stamped metal burner assembly which is a far cry from the older models solid metal brass burner tube. A serious future rust problem! However, still like the fact Coleman still makes this lantern model made in the USA.

First lantern I’ve ever bought and it’s perfect. I’d buy two of these before I went to a higher lumen. I struggled to get the alcohol to ignite. Maybe it works better if I use denatured? But once lit it lasted all night.

Built to last
I grew up using these when I went camping with my family. They are not as bright as LeDs are now but they most certainly got the job done. They are built to last, as my dad still has his from over 40 years ago.

I had a Coleman lantern at one time, we went camping and it fell in the water, it stayed lit and floated as far as the eye can see. They give plenty of light and float lol. Sorry I don't have a picture of it.

Nostalgic lantern
Love the lantern. Pretty easy to light and burns a long time. Only thing I have an issue with is it doesn't look like colman makes a carrying case for it and don't sell the mantels on their website anymore.

Gives off lots of carbon monoxide
Generates an astonishing amount of carbon monoxide. Even if used outdoors, anyone downwind is at risk from the CO being emitted. I used a digital CO monitor to take measurements. I’m planning to return it.

For emergencies I use kerosene for heating, cooking and lighting. I liked my fist kerosene lantern so much I bought a second. They are USA made quality, simple to operate and light an entire room.

Wonderful lantern. Outstanding customer service.
Coleman makes the best GPA stoves and lanterns. I have quite a collection of their lanterns dating back to the 50's that still work very well. So since they still manufacture these wonderful kerosene lanterns, I decided to buy directly from Coleman, instead of an older model through eBay. Much better deal on here, especially when they have sales. Now I received my first order from Coleman through FedEx and they weren't careful with the package, sadly the globe was broken upon delivery. Of the wonderful news is that Coleman stands behind their customer service and warranty a hundred percent. I called about the issue and got the information I needed to get it rectified. Then I registered my product and started a warranty application. Now I don't understand why Coleman doesn't have spare globes to ship out but they ended up sending me a whole new lantern and 533 stove because the stove I had was defective. The customer service is absolutely outstanding and deserves a ten star. I am very grateful and highly recommend Coleman to anybody. They stand behind their products and honor their warranty.
