Rated 5 out of 5 by from This lantern is a beast I have owned my Coleman Powerhouse dual fuel lantern for over 25 years. Always reliable , very bright and durable. I do recommend that if you buy the lantern to always keep one or two packages of replacement wicks just in case. Awesome that they are still USA made !!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is exactly what you remember… Just like the old days…but improved functionality! Works great…first time, every time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use. I use it for the hurricane Irma Maria for 2months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient Great lantern updated with modern conveniences such as the rubber non slip base, the guard around the globe and the electronic ignition. If I am in a hurry for light it's the lantern I grab.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Larger size and fuel capacity Have been mostly happy with it. It’s survived several rough damp trips so far. Did a 3 day on the Mississippi River and filled the fuel tanks before hand on the powerhouse and my DF single burner stove and was able to cook and have light without a refuel. Was too concerned anyway because I could have siphoned out a couple pints from the boat fuel if needed (it’s a 4 stroke motor, no premix). My only real negative is I wish they offered a larger mantle option for more light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Instant easy start Just add fuel and go. Have had this product for a few years now. Still on original mantle too. Has had a lot of use and just works. Bright too. Throws light a good distance around the camp site.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Campers friend Lighting a Coleman fuel-powered lantern is so much more satisfying than merely clicking the “On” switch of a modern, battery-powered lantern. If you’ve ever used a Coleman lantern, but like most of us, have since switched to rechargeable battery lanterns, you’ve probably forgotten that. I had forgotten that myself until a few months back when the boss man assigned a story about the history of the Coleman lantern for Adventure Journal’s forthcoming summer issue (subscribe right here so you don’t miss it). Feeling like it wasn’t possible to properly cover the lantern without using one again, I did my journalistic due diligence and picked up the Coleman Premium Dual Fuel Lantern and waltzed down camping memory lane.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1990 and still going strong My wife and I got one of these for a wedding present in 1990 (marrried in Yosemite). Just got back from camping on the Sonoma Coast in Northern California and it still works perfectly!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from tons of light and heat I own 2 Nortstar Dual Fuel Lanterns. They have seen a lot of use camping and hunting. The wind has a habit of blowing the pilot light out in my camp trailer so with a Buddy Heater and my 2 Northstars the place is well lit and super warm. We elk hunt in November so -0 temps are common at night. They light every time. Just use Coleman Fuel or the equivalent. Coleman gas products go out with me every time from cooking to lighting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lemon lantern. Our new lantern worked well for 5 evenings. Then the mantles would light but would not get bright as it should have. We will be returning it and hopefully the replacement will be better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliability They Work wonderful in Extremely Dangerous Weather Conditions. My Husband and I have used them in Colorado and right here in their own Backyard. We've used them in Extremely Dangerous Weather Conditions and they've saved our lives. Just don't use the petroleum based fuels in them. They'll clog the fuel lines up and they don't burn the same as they do with their camp fuel. They're worth the investment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Be Careful With Using Unleaded Gasoline I purchased this lantern back in 1991. I’ve used unleaded fuel in this lantern several times, and the generator got fouled up. I recommend using Coleman white gas whenever possible. Other than this, this is a good lantern.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The gold standard for camping light: incredibly br I am beyond impressed with the Coleman Powerhouse® Dual Fuel™ Lantern. The construction is incredibly solid, featuring a rugged metal base and a high-quality glass globe that feels like it can withstand years of heavy use. Installation and setup were a breeze; the instructions for the mantles are clear, and it pumps up easily to create great pressure. What I love most is the Dual Fuel versatility, allowing me to use either Coleman Liquid Fuel or unleaded gasoline, which is a lifesaver during long camping trips or emergencies. Despite its heavy-duty build, its portability is excellent thanks to the sturdy bail handle. It provides a bright, warm light that far surpasses any LED lantern I’ve tried. It’s a piece of gear built for a lifetime of durability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best Coleman Fuel lanterns built! This is a great mantle lantern that works in all weather. Fueled by Coleman Fuel and has a battery operated lighter, hence no need for carrying matches. Has a tremendous range of light output thought its adjustable control knob and a large fuel tank. You can hang it from a pole or tree. Makes a nice table lamp while camping. A great lantern for the outdoors!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I’ve used Coleman products for Camping for years and learned to operate and maintain my lanterns from my Dad whose Vintage Coleman lantern I still use today in addition to the Duel Fuel lanterns. When your looking for a quality product look no further than Coleman Products that are still proudly still made in the USA..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Alpha Lamp This dual fuel high output lantern is the epitome of lamps. When you pull out your lamp and its bigger then everyone else's there is a silent statement being made. Alpha lamp. The best part is that when you forget your naptha, you can just siphon a bit of gas out of your buddy's truck to get it going.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great product bad shipping Lantern is great. Bad shipping though. Box was untapped when it arrived. The hood has a half quarter size chunk of paint broke off. Had to fumble through the box to make sure I had everything and it wasn’t broken. Prepare to contact Coleman for warranty work upon arrival due to bad shipping and packing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's old, it's green, some of Uncle Sams' best. It may be OD Green but it always, always delivers. I acquired this single burner multi fuel lantern as a favor from a supply E-6 track supervisor who repaired and issued M-60 tanks and M113 APCs. Reforger Warehouses had everything you could ask for. Tracks, wheel, engineer vehicles, jeeps, MUST Hospital blow up tents. In '94 we gave the Kaserne back to the Germans and they built a new FussBall stadium over it. It had 5 or 6 thick glass sections but these can be replaced by the single clear glass "new" type .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lanterns!! Bought one for hunting camp. It was so good; I bought a second one for outside the tent. This was ten years ago and they are still the best lanterns I’ve found.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old school, new school I’ve been a big fan of Coleman for years. Most of my Coleman stuff was passed down to me from my grandfather and dad. With the way the world is going I thought it was time to add to my collection to have more resources available. Admittedly the new stove and lanterns don’t feel as robust as the older ones but make no mistake, they’re just as dependable when maintained properly and not thrown around. Take care of it like you want it to take care of you when you need it the most.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Disappointed, I've been using coleman lanterns for 35 years and never had problems until I bought the powerhouse. The generator seems to me leaking or not functioning correctly. Once I light the Lanter it spills fluid from the top by the mantles and the flame won't go out while lit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coleman duale fuel lantern is reliable! I have had a previous one for over 30 years and it still works after backing into it at least three times with the car over the years. I've used gasoline before it works but i find less fumes from lantern fuel .but now it needs new pump kit .so I bought the two more lanterns for my campsite of 8 people used for a week and only used one and a half cans of lantern fuel burned until daylight every night booth lanterns I love these lanterns

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lighting and response The NorthStar is a bit of an alcoholic during the winter it needs a couple of shots of either 50,70 or 91 proof Isopropyl every couple days. You'll notice how it acts whenever it hasn't had any; It gets temperamental, and doesn't want to light up so easily. It has to get lit, before it'll get lit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright Lights I love my new lantern. Its the brightest of brights. Originally received a cooler instead of a lantern which dimmed my light a bit. I felt I was given the cold shoulder, but had a light bulb moment and called in to dispute. The person I talked to was warm, bright, and helped light the way for me to get my replacement, kinda like my new lantern. Overall though a great product and great experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coleman premium dual fuel lantern I love the lantern it's bright easy to use works in all the weather conditions, had mine for ten years now, thank you coleman, don't understand the bad reviews, though, never had a problem, and it runs about 7 hours on a tank fuel, I do leave it run out of fuel I was told that it helps keep it clean thank you Greg

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Get a 285 or 295 this one is dim I don’t know what Coleman did with this lantern but they missed the mark. Spend your money on a dual fuel or powerhouse lantern. This thing is probably only 500 lumens. It’s too much mantel for what the generator can put out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like it but wouldn’t have bought if I knew…… I like this lantern it works very well so far, I bought it along with the Coleman dual fuel stove so I could run everything on one fuel source. But now I’m stuck with both and since the stove has been so unreliable I have to carry propane and Coleman fuel which takes extra room and leaves me looking for propane and Coleman fuel to go camping

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new lantern I bought a new Coleman Dual Fuel premium go go along with some older lanterns I have. Wanted the capablity to run unleaded in the lantern incase of an emergency, but will mostly run Coleman fuel. Lantern is very bright and lit right up after assembly and mantle installation. No complaints and look forward to decades of use.
