Can't Beat Coleman Lanterns
We now have 4 Coleman lanterns with this purchase. Two of them are from the 70s and still look and operate like new. I tried several battery operated lanterns a few years ago because I got tired of replacing mantles but realized how much I miss the glow of a gas lantern.

Great Lantern!
I was gifted this lantern in 1996 from my Father. It has been through many camping trips and I use it on my deck at night due to being able to adjust the brightness. I love this lantern! A word to the wise... be sure to have a back-up fuel generator if you plan on using unleaded fuel as it will eventually clog. If you only use the White fuel and and keep it maintained, it will last for many years to come.

It's a Coleman Lantern!
Received it today, assembled it, fueled it, pumped it up and lit it. After the mantles burned up, it put ou tlots of light - like a Coleman Lantern!!! Seriously, having used Coleman liquid fuel lanterns throughout my short 50-some years, This is just what I expected. A quality, durable product that just works. I had an OLD lantern (was my parent's before me) that I finally got rid of because the tank had developed a leak and the generator was shot. Needed a replacement and decided to go with dual fuel, with the intent that I'll use Coleman fuel, but have the gasoline option in an emergency situation. The case seems like it will protect it well. I've always transported my lanterns inside 5 gallon buckets, now I don't need to take up extra space. Although a little pricey, it's as expected, a great product.

Warm Glow
I was happy to have this lantern on a recent camping trip. I had seen another camper using one in a park a few weeks prior. I was impressed by the warm glow and brightness produced by the lantern. It lit up our site very well. Very easy to use with instructions right on the lantern base.

Coleman Duel Fuel Lantern review
Seems well constructed. Solid material and quality made. Have been unable to use it other than the initial lighter which was a little difficult due to the pressure on the pump. However, I found a video on YouTube to help. All said, I’m pleased with my purchase and hope it will last for years. I had a friend that has had one since the 70‘s and it is still going strong. I have a Coleman gas stove that I have had since the 80‘s that has been fantastic! Would purchase again for an extra in emergencies.

The Perfect Companion for Peaceful Evenings
As an occasional camper, I wasn't sure how much use I'd get out of this Coleman dual fuel lantern, but it's become an absolute favorite. Yes, it's fantastic on camping trips, but it also shines my own deck at home. We don't have an outdoor fireplace, and honestly, this lantern gives me that same sense of serenity I've been craving. There's something magical about the warm, golden glow paired with that gentle hissing sound—it creates the perfect ambiance for unwinding after a long day.
The adjustable flame lets me dial it down to a soft, flickering glow for a relaxed evening, or crank it up when I need serious light.
Pair it with a cup of tea (made on my Coleman 533 with a tea kettle) or a glass of whiskey, and you've got the perfect setup for an evening to unwind and slow down.

Best lantern's
Just replacing an old lantern with a new old, had the other one over 45 years tank started to leak a little, was time to get a new one for our new home built camper. Best lanterns going, always like the fuel one's.

The Coleman Consumer Care, is wrong. The 285 and 295 are not the same. The 285 is smaller and comes with carry case (it is the model sold here). I like the more compact 285 vs the 295. When I grab a lantern, I grab one of my 280's and the larger lanterns usually stay home. The 285 is the same size as the older 288 and 286 (the 286 is the single mantle version of the 288 and these lanterns are about the same size as the single mantle model 200 they replaced, The 295 is a larger/full size lantern and does not come with a case, but the carrying case can be bought separately. The carrying case for the 295 also fits the 290 and the 220F-220K (the 220E and earlier are too tall).
