Rated 5 out of 5 by GreatLakesBoatNerd from I LOVE THIS TENT! You will too! Want room? Have dogs or kids? (Or maybe just a lot of gear)... then this tent is the one for you! There is plenty of room for everyone (and a divider wall if you want one). It goes up easily with another person's help in under 15 minutes. I love the dark room tent colors, but what I really appreciate is that I can easily walk around in this tent. (As someone that is over 6 feet tall - I find most tents to not be as accomodating). There is a nice cross breeze that comes through the tent and I love the two doors the tent has on each end. It truly is like a cozy cabin - it even has a door that has a pole in it that allows it to operate just like a regular door on hinges - complete with a little pull-handle! We even bought a little screen house to go with the tent so we have a place to sit and not get bothered by sun or mosquitos! I am really looking forward to the camping season this year with our friends dogs! If you are looking for a nice and roomy tent, this is the one for you! Happy camping!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Montana Camper from Great with some common sense additions This is not a rainy weather tent. Sprinkles sure, rain no.... Unless! The entire bottom seam needs to be sealed. Use Gear Aid - Seam Grip +WP and a 1/2” brush to apply. If it rains figure out a trp to cover the main door. I use adjustable ground poles for tarps and rope to creat a covered entry. After these simple additions this tent is prime. It sets up fast. With the flu and custom door cover it takes me 15 min by myself. Best part is kids can go to bed early/on time and they actually sleep in past dawn(5am). The only draw back is if you do not use the rain fly you have to use rope tied to the pivot joint on the 2 middle poles and anchor them out a few feet or wind will cave it in. However this has been almost any cabin tent I have had so. Also I apply waterproofing to all my tents at season start. A little prep goes a long way an be no tent material stays waterproof forever. Considering if you want this tent or another tent, realise all tents you really need to seal the lower seam. This tent is a great buy and worth the money. With proper prepping it got us through a 5 day downpour perfectly dry. Prep well, and happy camping!

Rated 4 out of 5 by camp4everfam from Good value tent, but needs some improvements I have owned the non-blackout version of this tent for about 10 years. It has served me and my family well. Being over 6' tall, i can stand up straight inside. The floor is 10'x14' and fits two cots (for my wife and I) and an air mattress for the boys with room left over. The tent sets up pretty quickly but there are some caveats. Even with the tent staked down, the poles will still rack either left or right so it won't stand straight. Once the rainfly is on and staked down the tent won't rack and you can straighten up the tent. But with the rainfly on, there's no viewing stars. To work around this, I bought webbing, ratcheting tie-downs, and ground anchors to hold the tent without the rainfly. Once these are in place, the tent is very rigid, the door works well and no issues. The bag that came with the tent is very light and has a light duty zipper that eventually broke. Also, there are no compression straps on the bag. After the first use it was impossible to get the tent small enough to fit in the bag without opening the bag's expansion zipper. I addressed that issue by using tie down straps once the tent was collapsed to compress it. I've purchased a large duffel bag with compression straps as well to further shrink the tents packed size. Overall, this tent has been a great value, but I had to add my own improvements to make it truly excellent.

It was AMAZING!! The tent stayed dark so we could sleep and it even stayed cool in the hot sun! Definitely the best tent we have ever purchased! Super affordable and well made! We give this 5 stars 100%

I l9ve this tent it's huge inside and ACTUALLY IT'S GOOD IN THE RAIN...If you remember to zip it ALL up there are little holes in the corner for like an extension cord and you have to zip the door up (so the zips are up top) our first trip was in the rain it stayed dry inside except for us walking in and out. Well worth the $200 we paid for it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Gene50 from A Good First Use I initially thought that the attached set up instructions were in English on the front and Spanish on the back. I called and talked to a person there who seemed befuddled, and said she was going to e-mail me the English instructions. She never did. Then my son noted that there were actually two instruction sheets close together, and after peeling them apart we found the top one was in English and the bottom one was in Spanish. Problem solved. The instructions should be more complete on just how to get it popped up easily, and also back in the bag when done. I had to uncover one of the pop up joints to understand how they worked and what to expect from them. On my first actual use in west Texas, for the last 7 days, a strong wind blew it in during set up after I had it popped it up and staked it down but before I got the rainfly and guy ropes attached. I needed help from a fellow camper to get it popped up again. After that, the structure remained solid and stood up to the wind without failure. Importantly, the front of the tent was not marked so I was unsure of how to set the tent on the pad. The main entry door was difficult to zip open and closed. Otherwise I liked all the features of the tent. The dark room worked well, but the morning sun on the main entry door side still heated us up pretty quick. I did not use any of the storage pouches. It would be nice to have a clothes line and lamp hanger hook built into the ceiling. There were no reviews on this tent and no other venders when I purchased it directly from your Coleman site.

Two of the poles were put together incorrectly so it couldn’t be fully set up. Of course we found this out hours away from home with a 9month old so needless to say the vacation is/was ruined and I’ve completely lost faith in Coleman!

Rated 2 out of 5 by AlmostRuinedMyTrip from Poor Quality Control Tent arrived packages well enough. Went to setup and one of the legs was installed backwards. Didn’t notice on setup but take down the leg would not collapse down. I had to remove the whole leg assembly with a Phillips screwdriver which was easy enough. The leg was stuck on pretty good from the incorrect assembly from the factory. Glad we did a practice setup otherwise it could have been a bad situation. I seen this same issue from other reviews on this particular tent. Coleman you can do better. Customers expect better.

Tent walls are floor are completely waterproof. However we had 2-3" of wet snow which loaded the tent fly and snapped 2 of the fiberglass poles that plug into the main spider support structure.

This tent leaks at the window seams and at the bottom where the tent fabric meets the tarp like bottom. - On our first camping trip with this tent it rained for 6 hours, we had water trickling in at a steady stream. We took it home and sprayed it twice with waterproofing spray. - On our 2nd camping trip it leaked again and sleeping bags and pillows were drenched after a 3 hour rain :( In my opionion it might work better if the rain cover actually helped water drain away from the tent and not onto the tent!

The tent was great but I and others (we all had the same tent) experienced one big issue. When it would rain hard or have light but consistent rain fall. The tent's seams would get saturated and then the start leaking inside. Another note, the dark room only works at night. Totally not getting a dark room once the sun is up. I would recommend this tent only if it would not be raining to hard. Please note i did not purchase this tent.

If your tent arms collapse and your push button poles bend or break or the button drops in the pole, or your plastic hinges break Coleman does not have replacement parts your $259.00 tent is worthless.

Finally one of the side poles (not corner pole) snapped and bent. The tent is now unusable. Lots of money spend on a tent only used twice

One of the plastic connector/hinge pieces on the top of the pole broke on the fourth outing and Coleman doesn’t have any Replacement parts for this.

It’s the middle of winter here so can’t fully test everything out at this moment however set up seems to be fairly easy and the black out feature is great. Great size tent and love that it has a storage bag. Nice colors. Seems to be sturdy and material does not feel cheap. Only time will tell over a couple of trips so I’ll definitely update my review after a number of uses but so far so good. Received this tent in exchange for my honest review from Influenster and Coleman

Rated 1 out of 5 by Stacie from Water Leakage We bought this tent for a camping trip 2 years ago and it has only been used twice. The first time, the experience was very good, dark, kept the bugs out and good ventilation. Though the first problem we run into was on the last night when it stormed and water leaked through the seams not only on the bottom of the tent, but on the windows as well. The water went through the fabric; not only that but the gray covering lining the floor has a design flaw where it doesn't tuck in which causes water to get through the seams quicker. However since it was our first problem we dismissed it and thought it was something we did wrong. Second time using the tent, it rained on the first night, and we woke up to water all over the floor, soaking all of our belongings. We once again thought it was a flaw in how we set it up. It is not; it was a flaw in the tent in which the fabric, and seams were not water-proof. I do hope Coleman fixes their designs because 3 people in my family had Coleman tents including me, and all of them let water in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sea Bee from Instant and Fast pitch (dark room technology) Coleman Dark room 10 person fast pitch tent, took 26 min to set up tent, another 10 minutes with the tent guy lines, plus another 15 for rain fly and rain fly guy lines, an additional 30 min trying to adjust for the hinged door. We have lots of experience setting up tents of all brands, with and without directions. Over all an amazing tent if the hinged door and it’s zipper worked correctly. All other zippers in the tent worked perfect. I will be taking it back to Costco. My last tent was the Coleman 10 person instant up, which I sold to upgrade to the dark room technology. In my opinion the fast pitch tent is sturdier than the instant up tent in wind and rain storms. The fast pitch technology stood firm and the instant up technology would fold in on us being easily pushed back into shape. Pros: 1. Sturdy in wind (hours of heavy wind and rain). Amazing in the rain and wind!!!! 2. Dark room. That and the hinged door is what I bought the tent for. However it does heat up fast as soon as the sun is up. I opened the windows a couple inches on the shade sides of the tent and it cooled right down. Still dark enough to sleep. This same strategy works when in the tent during the day - opening the windows on the shade sides helps keep it cooler. Cons: 1. Leaked at hinged door in heavy rain (and yes the door was zipped shut). 2. Difficulty zipping hinged door and unable to adjust hinged door so it fit correctly, there is a gap at the bottom of the door. I did read about this problem and difficulty zipping the hinged door in the reviews and thought that it was either a defective tent or they didn’t know how to adjust the door. Something isn’t right in the construction (sewed funky?) and the bottom flap doesn’t lay correctly. This is my third Coleman tent with a hinged door, the other two were easily adjusted to fit and zip close. The hinged door on this tent was impossible to zip close (not smooth like the other two tents) it kept catching. This was a continual annoyance the whole time we camped, we zip the door when we’re away from the camp site and at night. 3. There are pin holes in the rain fly, it looks like a defect in the fabric. Didn’t leak though. After the wind and rain I also noticed that the tent poles rubbed off the sealer on the tent side of the rain fly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by CGHines from Expensive, Flimsy and not with the money We were very disappointed in this tent. We bought last fall on Amazon Prime Day, but did not use it till this weekend. The blackout part of the tent is fabulous, but the tent is flimsy. The poles are weak and it did not hold up to the wind at all. The doors are slanted which mean you have to bed over to get in and that makes the end walls slanted inside. We are only 5’3” and 5’4”, and it was not comfortable for us to stand. We thought becyit was a Coleman it would be better made.

I will be returning the tent for sure. The rain fly doesn't cover enough of the door so if it's raining at all... everything by the door WILL get wet. The door isn't very easy to unzip or zip back up. Would be a nuisance! Not as dark as I thought it would be either. I'll go back to my old tent and throw a tarp over it.. it'll be darker than this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Licht from Great, but missing a hook for the fly Easy set up, however, the rain fly was missing a hook when we assembled. We ended up having to take a piece of the ribbon that was wrapped around the tent in the bag and tying it to the fly and attaching to the stake. We looked all over the ground and inside the bag and didn’t find the hook anywhere. It still worked, but for the money we spent it was a little aggravating to be missing this key piece that we had to untie to release when we were breaking everything down.
