In times of hurricanes we took one by surprise and being the house well tied did not suffer a single fracture. Rated 5 out of 5 by Tori from 4-Person Instant Cabin's maiden voyage review I just took this tent out for its first road trip. It was super duper easy to set up and take down. I was all alone and could easily set up in less than 5 minutes, and take-down was a similar time, although sometimes it was hard to roll it small enough to fit into its bag. But that's normal for tents so that's not really a negative. It lightly rained while I was camping and I didnt get any wetness inside. It didnt even need stakes to stay up properly, which was nice since day 1 I forgot stakes and couldnt get any until day 2. Took her out for 5 days, was totally fine at the end of it. Ill definitely get coleman tents in the future whenever this one wears down.

Leaks very bad I purchased and used this tent on a dry weekend(worked fine). 2nd time using this tent during a rainy weekend and it leaked from one of its pouches which left me thinking there was a bad seam. I used seam sealer adhesive and waterproofing spray and let it sit for a couple days on my deck. Finally had a rainy day and I was surprised how much the tent leaked water. I'M NEVER GOING TO BUY COLEMAN AGAIN!!

The tent can fit 4 people if you don't bring a lot of stuff with you. It has a spot to hang a lantern inside which is pretty important when you are out in the wilderness. There are two windows that can be zipped up for privacy, but they are perfect in the summertime when it is hot and you need a breeze to cool you down! This tent does pretty well with rain, but like most other tents it can get damp. A good way to prevent this is by putting another tarp under your tent. I received this product for free from Coleman and Influenster in exchange for my honest review.

This is so easy to set up but there are some things you might want to know if you are thinking about purchasing this.The windows are only on only three sides, that is including the door. The door zipper is in two pieces that meet in the bottom corner which leaves a small gap. When it’s dark, it’s hard to tell if it’s fully closed which leaves one to wonder if snakes and things could get in. The ventilation isn’t great because there is only one small vent at the top. It’s a big stretch to call this a 4-man tent. In my opinion, 2 adults and maybe 2 young children would fit comfortably.

I unfolded it, and within a minute, the tent popped up effortlessly. Its compact design allows for easy portability in a small pocket. The tent effectively keeps water out and provides good airflow with the built-in rainfly. Comfortable for four people, though additional gear may make it feel snug. I find it durable, but in rough weather, extra support like guy lines might be beneficial. Our family loves camping, and this tent is our go-to choice. We sometimes camp in our backyard, and I can say it's very convenient for us to enjoy the tent.

I love how easily it is to set up... However, when it comes to rain.. this thing sucks. I guess i just didnt deal with hard rain before? But the past few days i have been in montana in the pouring rain and woken up SOAKED from this thing. It is so much water, its unexcusable. They advertise water proof which is why i give the low review, it is a lie. I love the easy set up but waking up freezing and wet gives yall only a star.... Not ok. Just say its only for dry weather so i dont fall for it... I am very dissatisfied. I want it to work so bad because everything else is great... But not waterproof???? And its supposed to be for regular camping???? Not ok. I am so sad. Want to switch to another company maybe. Idk what to do now.. water just pouring in and puddling in my tent sucks so bad. I am so sad...

The tent was super easy to set up and a very nice size to stay in. We slept in it comfortably and when we got up the next morning we open the zipper ticket out of the tent and when we zipped closed the zipper came right off at the end and frayed with very little pressure added to it. It’s unfortunate that this happened, and I hate to leave this type of review but people need to know but to trust and what not to trust.

But of course over 20 years plus it wore out. So I purchased two more now that I have kids. And they have been wonderful. I think we are on our third year with no issues and we just, had a downpour have a solid hour of rain and we were bone dry . However, our neighbors had the six person tent and they said Water got in. I was looking at upgrading to the six person tent, but the reviews aren’t quite the same as the four person. I’ll probably wait another year and see. They highly recommend the poor person. super convenient.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Big G from Good price, but flaws Good price, easy to put up and take down, but not easy to get back in the bag. The biggest problem is that is came with ZERO waterproofing from the factory. On the 4th nite of use on a trip this past summer, it rained fairly hard. The tent leaked terribly! For the amount of water that weeped through the fabric, there could not have been even a hint of waterproofing on the fabric. I had the proper rainfly on the tent, too, but that didn't stop anything, either. Rain seeped in slower where the rainfly covered, but still came through. By morning, there was at least a couple of gallons of water on the tent floor! Fortunately, I was able to pile water sensitive items on top of things that were not susceptible to moisture, so nothing valuable was damaged. This is not my first tent and I know that waterproofing has to be renewed, but there to be zero on it from the factory is ridiculous. There is no indication in the instructions that waterproofing is needed before first use, either. Were it not for this one issue, I could give it 5 stars as a quality product for an excellent price, but this is too serious an issue to ignore.

I had a tarp below the tent and above. However still woke up covered in morning dew. The tent itself is fairly decent outside of this flaw. Easy setup and takedown, sturdy poles. Minus and additional star for not including the rainfly like every other company and coleman tent.

The people I camp with are always jealous of how quick and easy setup and breakdown are. I'm 5'6 and can just about stand up in the middle, so that's great too. What prompted this review, however is the supposed "weather tech". My last camping trip saw a bit of rain and as soon as the tent fabric was saturated the water began to go right through. Totally ruined the last night, actually cut the trip short a day because everything on the tent was soaked.

I've tried several times to reach Coleman an they give you pages of crap to fill out an wait. No one ever answers the phone. Completely disappointed

I bought this because a close friend that I camp with bought a tent by another brand that has the instant up feature and the tent performed great in every way including being water proof. The instant up feature on my tent worked just as well as my friends, however my Coleman leaked horribly. My friend and I camped together last October and it rained all but 1 day of our 4 day trip. My tent did fine during the first rainy night but then it leaked the rest of the time. The only difference between my tent and my friends is hers has a rain fly whereas mine does not. The description says it's built in but whatever aspect of the design that refers to is definitely defective. I won't be using it in the future unless there is no chance of rain.

Rated 1 out of 5 by jasonfromny from doesnt live up to the hype bought this for my daughter. very easy to set up. strange to not have to put on an additional rainfly and i was correct. sprinkled day 1 and she got wet. took it down reset it up to make sure everything was correct. last day of camping and there is a thunderstorm and so much water in the tent i needed to send in a life raft. dont know if we just got a defective one but this one just is no good. im not adding photos as there isnt anything to see. looks as the pictures in the product details just doesnt work

If you get this darker colored model; don't forget to add the rainfly...however, there is a light blue model that doesn't require a rainfly. My son prefers the darker colored one; because he says he can sleep longer in the morning. Either model is perfect; in my opinion!

Its quick setup and takedown are a huge plus, making it convenient for all campers. The tent is well-ventilated and stays dry even in rainy conditions, thanks to its WeatherTec system. The interior is roomy enough to comfortably fit four people with some gear. However, we use it for just me and my husband because the space is nice to hold us and all our things inside the tent to keep it safe and close to us. Within less than an hour of setting the tent up water was leaking right through to top and Sides. Everything we had was soaking wet. We had no other choice so we had to sleep in it. The tent had such poor ventilation that by the time the sun can up we were having a difficult time breathing.

I'm greatly impressed and love their culture of supporting customers. Second the tent is very easy to set up. I usually go camping 3-4 times a year during summer, and occasionally set up the tent in the backyard for my kids to watch movies. This tent is perfect for summer activities and in the backyard since I mentioned above it is very easy to put up and down comparing to my other tents. As others' reviews, this tent is not water proof; therefore, you will need to look for extra tent-top cover. Overall I love this tent and great customer support from Coleman.

Only concern I have is the windows have to be completely closed when it rains. I bought the extra rainfly but it does not extend over the windows enough to keep the rain out. If Coleman company could design a rainfly that extended out over the windows, I’d give it 5 stars.
