What an awesome tent!
I havent put it up just yet, but i cant wait to put it to good use!! It stays hot just about year round down south and this tent will be perfect for us. We are hikers and can't wait to use it!

Kept us dry in the rain
Great tent. We like that it keeps it dark on sunny summer mornings so we don't wake up at 5am. It poured rain for two days / nights straight our first time using it and it kept us very dry.

I love this tent even with its flaws
I bought this tent from a Dick's Sporting Goods around 5 years ago. I have used it nearly every year for around a week and a half total nights of camping at festivals since. It could use a second coat of water resistance at this point, and I cut the base (and my hand) with a broken mirror but it is SO fast to set up and SO good at blocking out the sun. I never want another tent. If I had to set this tent up by myself in under 10 min I am confident I could. I always have someone help me because with two people its seriously like two minuets. Break down is equally easy. I never once fit it back in the bag it came in but that may be a me problem. Its massively vertical for a dome tent and the perfect size (10x 8ft 6in) if you're someone like me who brings a lot of things and likes to setup a whole room inside your tent. I bring a queen sized air mattress, drawers, table etc. With the flaps closed as they need to be for the light blockage and water resistance to work there isn't super great ventilation, however if you open them up in the daytime, even with the rainfly on you can get a good breeze going. :)

Cheaply made
On my first outing with this tent we had one day with 25 mph wind gusts. Three of the fiberglass poles broke and one metal joint bent. I would not trust this tent at all in wind.

Compact and easy to assemble
We are loving camping and really looking forward for summer to use it every weekend! We tried to assemble it in our living room and it was quite easy! Tent is very spacious !

PROS:
- The darkening fabric really does block enough light to allow our young children to fall asleep before dusk and sleep past dawn during the longest days of summer!
- When both floor AND fly are *properly staked and tensioned*, this tent should resist moderate rain and wind.
CONS:
- I hate the "easy pitch" attached poles. Maybe easier for beginner tent campers or pitching the tent solo, but if you have any tent experience, it's not really that helpful, and it makes it SO much harder to repack the tent into its bag.
- Light and ventilation aren't great. Properly setting up the fly takes time, so you're not going to want to take the fly off every morning (or at least I'm not!). With the tent fully pitched, there's only a smallish window on the door. Why not make the entire door a mesh window?
- As is common for most tents with this design, the overhang over the door doesn't extend the dripline far enough to keep your tent floor totally dry during rain.
- Don't take this tent out in severe conditions. It's taller and boxier, so no matter how well it's pitched, it's going to catch the wind more than an aerodynamic design.
- Rather than 1 large tent wall pocket, I'd much prefer multiple smaller pockets spread out across the tent. That way, each kid can get their own that they can reach without stepping over others.

From my experience I can't find any evidence of waterproofing. Mine has leaked since day one, so I just put a tarp over it.
