Great tent
Best tent I have ecer purchased. I love the dark room technology. Been able to keep the tent cooler and I been able to sleep in longer. Only issue I have with the tent is after set up for two days the fiberglass poles are bending. I’m not sure how long till one breaks.

Good enough...
Returned the Coleman 7man quick set up tent that broke on the 3rd use for this. Cabellas was great. This has a more familiar set up to another 20 yr quality tent I still have. Poles seem strong, easy set up. Did not like that the 2 walls are entirely mesh with no option to block. In the Colorado Rockies it is often windy and spring and fall nights can be cold. This seems like a hassle to keep warm. It -was windy and I staked it down solidly with 9" nail stakes. (Love the reflective cords) tent held firm in 20 mph gusts, and surprisingly only a mild breeze inside. Roomy, compact, like the "darkroom". Zippers and stress points all seemed strong. I did buy the $30 protection from Cabellas. : (

Nice tent.
Used for 2 week trip to Glacier National Park. I was going solo so had to put up by myself. It was fairly easy to put up. Luckily both times it was put up there was no wind otherwise it would have been impossible. Took a two man tent just in case. It rained for 24 hours once and not a drop come through the rain fly. Had my Gander Mountain cot, zero gravity chair, suitcase and table inside tent to wait it out rain. Main reason buying this tent, it is the smallest tent and still able to stand upright and not hunched over all the time. I have nothing negative to say about it. BTW Many Glacier area was amazing!

Dark Room Blocks Heat - Captured Cross-Poles Snap
This 6-Person Dark Room Sundome was the 4th Coleman 10x10 6-person tent I have purchased over the past 25 years. They all got lots of use and held up as expected except the newest "Darkroom" version. I REALLY love the sun and heat blocking ability of the Dark Room tent, but I found the half-screened doorway much harder to use than older versions. I liked the captured-main cross-poles but was disappointed when a moderately stormy passage of a cold front snapped one of the poles, ripped through the fly and flattened the tent soaking the inside. The older non-captured cross-pole tents survived many similar storms undamaged. Replacement parts for this $180 tent are not available.

Rod broke before use and zipper stitching is bad
The rod for the canopy broke before first use and the stitching on one of the windows is so bad we cannot open it all the way. I am not impressed. :(

Good dark-room tech, weak tent poles....
Hello! I'll echo what's already been posted in these reviews. The "dark-room" aspect does not disappoint, but we suffered a busted pole on our fifth or sixth use of the tent (we bought it new), and - like the other customers on this sight - I'm finding that getting replacement poles is nearly impossible. Coleman sends you to a third-party (e-replacement), and they carry a very limited amount of replacement pole sizes, and unfortunately not in the length we need for our SunDome 6-person. Their customer service could only recommend I "check-back" with them in the event their warehouse inventory changes.

Easy to use for casual camping
I used this tent for a three day camping trip with some friends. You could probably squeeze three people in but I’m not sure how you would fit 6. We fit two people with plenty of room for our mats/sleeping bags and our stuff.
I have to give this tent absolute props where it counts — it STORMED hard on us on our last night of camping, severe storm warnings, wind, torrential rain, and we stayed secured and DRY in this tent with the rain shield on and the vents open.
Easy set up (from someone who has never set up a tent) stayed in place and held up in storms. Good ventilation but definitely retains heat.

I like it!!
This tent is hella roomy, easy to put up, and I love that the footprint is built in. I have had zero problems with the rainfly - it has stood up to rainstorms and strong, sustained winds (4+ hours' worth!). I love that it has windows you can see out of while the rainfly is on - that's not all that common. I have used this place as a comfortable refuge with a friend during storms. I have had my cot set up, two camp chairs, two coolers as coffee tables, and three dogs (one large, two medium) in their own dog beds, all at the same time - it was LOVELY. As far as the "dark room technology"....well....it's better than a light-colored tent...! After having this tent for years, one of the tension cords in the poles finally broke. Just have to get that fixed and she'll be good as new.

Very nice tent!
The Coleman Dark room tent is great! I really love the size of it! It says it will fit two twin size air mattresses in it and it will but we only used one because that’s all we needed. With only using one queen size air mattress we still had a lot of move around room and storage room. It was very easy to set up and take down. We went camping over the weekend and really really enjoyed staying in this tent. It’s made of nice quality material and actually fit back in the carrying case very easy. It really does stay dark inside so now I can’t wait to try it out again during the really hot summer months. You can’t go wrong with this tent and you will enjoy setting it up and staying in it.

Great Concept VERY Poor Execution - 2nd Defective
Great concept - VERY Poor Execution 2nd Defective
I'm currently wet, cold, and pretty cranky. This is my 2nd one after warranting out the first as it had sizable holes in the seams allowing for leakage one the first use. This one stayed sealed HOWEVER about an hour ago I was awakened to the wall caving in on me. I initially assumed a faulty stake and quickly inventoried the contents of my tent putting the heavier, water proof items in the corner and the other heavy non waterproof items on my chair in front of the door to prevent more water from entering. Once the rain let up a little I went out to find that the plastic piece that secures the tent and pole to the ground had snapped (only 25mph gusts). Thankfully the stake held and even through without the counterbalance of the tent to keep it in place, it only flipped around somewhat keeping the pole in place to prevent the tent from entirely being drenched inside rather than just the front half. It is still raining so I manuvered some extra steaks to hold both the tent and the pole in place and will have to swap tents today. Unfortunately I'm just outside the 12 month warranty period so it's an expensive lesson to stick to what works and not be wooed by features like fast pitch and dark room. It's a great concept, but to be honest I've lost more sleep in the 5 times using this model to water emergencies than I ever have to heat or sunlight. My suggestion, save your money and your sanity and get something else. My cheap 6 man Ozark trail lasted over 100 nights of camping and much larger storms than the one now. I'm pretty disappointed as I have two 4 man and a 6 man Coleman that are older models and they are solid... Like I said, I just really liked the idea of keeping the tent a little cooler and not getting as much sun in. But I'll take a little more sun ( and really it is only a little more sun) than waking up wet any day!

Amazing!
This is an amazing tent for our family of 5! Set up and take down is so easy and not stressful. There is plenty of room for my husband and I, plus our 3 children. We were able to move around and be comfortable. The darkroom feature is great and our kids actually slept past sunrise. It does a nice job blocking the sun and keeping the temperature right. It did rain, but we had no water in the tent another huge plus! The tent overall is very well made and durable. I do believe it will last for a long time for lots of fun. We have been looking for the perfect tent for us and our camping adventures, and this one is perfect. We can't wait to camp again. I would definitely recommend this tent!

Camping for music Festival and don’t want light shining in your tent all night get this tent! But make sure you have a light cause you will not see anything inside your tent once your inside.

Not My Tent But Good
I bought this tent for a friend to replace his tent which requires the Army Corps of engineers to put up. I was looking for a comfortable size tent for two or three with minimal number of poles and conventional construction (no hinges and minimal plastic parts). A couple of the other reviewers here seem to have bought the Costco Fast-Pitch version of this tent by their description and have confused it for this tent. I had my friend pitch the tent for me to make sure it this was not a Fast-Pitch edition which has a different pole system and more plastic parts. I cannot speak to its ability to hold out water but it certainly keeps out the light. We are fair weather campers anyhow. The poles and construction are generally more durable than my own tents and I believe this tent will serve him well. I am going to drop a star because the clips that hold the sides to the shape of the poles appear rather frail as they are quite narrowly molded. While they are no doubt strong enough for the purpose of holding up the sides of the tent, I wonder how long they hold up to the strain of being snapped on and off the poles.

Easy set up and great sun coverage
This tent is very easy to put up. The poles are preset and corded to how they're supposed to connect. You just pop everything in place and tie them where they need to be. I can set it up on my own without looking at the manual. The room darkening is great compared to other tents that I've tried. Definitely helpful for people that don't like waking up with the sun. This fits 3 cots comfortably and you still have room to wiggle between cots. Can fit 4 cots but less room for your things and you'll need to put the cots side by side. If you're doing sleeping bags, it can definitely fit the 6 people.

Set this tent up in the backyard on the grass for the kids first time use.The plastic component that inserts the tent pole to each corner where it stakes down broke within an hour of setting it up.

Perfect for families
We used this tent while camping in Alaska. I can easily say it was the best sleep we have gotten while tent camping. The Dark Room feature truly does work and allowed up to wake up so much more rested than we would have without it.

Quick set up
Quick setup, the main reason why I bought this tent is because I can standup inside the tent. The external frame does not hold up well in 15-20mph winds. The tent has two large mosquitoes screens that DO NOT HAVE AN EXTERNAL cover to keep the rain out. It appears they figure that the rain fly would keep the rain out, the rain fly failed miserably on my tent. As far as the DARKROOM Technology I do not know what sensors they used to come up with the “Blocks 90% of sunlight” I used a Cen-Tech P98674 DVM that has a Lux setting I did not see a 90% drop in the Lux number standing outside and then walking into the tent & zipping up all the flaps, and made sure the rain fly was in place. I also did not see a 90% blockage of sunlight coming into the tent with my eyes. They also show that this is a 6 person tent, if there was five other campers in my tent I would
have been a very unhappy camper.

bought because we were curious about the darkroom tech and to replace out 15yr old tent. This tent, like many other dome tents coleman is making, the side walls are half screen, leaving the rain fly to provide all the protection. after setting up, which was fast and easy, we noticed the material is thinner than expected (compared to our older tent) and the seems were weaker. The center pole that holds up the rain fly pushed its way through the end of the fly and tore out. We also found it odd that all the tent poles were all connected to the hub, it took us longer to untangle than to put up the tent. We were also not impressed that the poles went into plastic and not metal pins like our old coleman tent.

Great price and easy to use!
Best tent I’ve ever slept in and I’ve been camping my whole life. The dark feature is great! Normally in tents I wake up sweating but not this one! Stays nice and cool and you can sleep in past sunrise because it blocks out the sun! Loved it so much I bought another one for my best friend as a wedding gift! Also the set up takes no more than 5 minutes!

Performance worth the price
First off I’ve read through the reviews and I’m slightly confused with some people’s issues. I camp more than most and I use my equipment. This tent was 100% purchases for the dark room effect because I hate waking up at 5:30 am because of heat and sun. I have used this tent now for 1 year and it’s probably been put up close to 30 times now. Every camping trip has been in Wyoming and if you know the winds there you’ll understand what abuse it puts on tents. 20-65 mph winds is very common. I have never had any failure due to winds, in fact I’d say this tent performed exceptional in high winds. I’ve also been in extreme rain and thunderstorms and not a drop has penetrated through the tent. I have had slight zipper issues just recently which seems about par for any tent on the market. I have camped from -20 to 100 degrees F and this tent has prevailed. If you don’t like early morning heat and sun waking you up this tent is absolutely amazing and for the price it’s extremely durable.

High expectation, low wet weather performance
Bought the version that comes with the screen room recently and first used this past Memorial Day weekend trip with some friends. We checked the weather report prior to the trip and expecting some rain overnight, but wasn't too worries as I read so many reviews about how well this tent perform. After setting the tent and rainfly up and set into the night, the rain started pouring. The tent itself was nice, pretty spacious for two adults and two small kids, and we really like the dark room technology to keep the inside dark. The next morning I found portion of the tent floor wet, so we wiped everything dry and reset everything. After returning to the tent couple hours later we found the floor wet again, so we cleaned up everything again and start tracing where the water came from. In the end we found the two corners where the tent and the screen room connects have been leaking the whole time, and just so disappointed about the quality of the tent, and the so call patented corner welds and protected seams.

Terrible Product
I bought my tent on July 10,2021 and today makes a week I had my tent than I use it to camp in my backyard but to also do some camping now I can’t because my tent is having the same issue that most people are having with the tent linking water.. it’s coming through the material and the seams of the tent.. also have puddles of water in the corners.. I’m so disappointed that now I have to return it.. this will be the last time I ever buy a Coleman tent..

Awesome tent
It is our very first time camping therefore this is also our first using a tent and Coleman brand did not disappoint. The quality is excellent and It is perfect for our family of 5 (2 adult and 3 kids), we were able too ok for in 3 sleeping bags and slept comfortably. The setting up and taking down of the tent is very easy especially for beginners like me and my hubby. I am not a morning person so the dark room sundome is perfect for me and the kiddos. I highly recommend it and ill definitely use this again for another camping on spring break.

Nice Dark Sleeping
This has been a fun tent for us to try out prior to our upcoming camping trip as the blackout technology of the tent itself keeps the extra light away. As a family that camps a lot, it can get ht with the sun and longer days and when you have little ones who need to nap, a bright tent is not always a good thing. With the dark room technology the inside of the tent feels like dusk at all times of the day. I hope that the overall heat is also kept down but hard to determine in January. The tent is true to size and was a breeze to set up.

LOVE THIS TENT
This tent is so easy to put up, even if by yourself. We camp a lot with cub scouts, and this has made it easier to set up camp. I also love the dark room, it really does keep it cooler inside the tent. Our last camp out we had a major wind storm roll through the area, and not a single broken pole unlike some others we were camping with.

A big disappointment
We had a 10x12 Sundome, rated at 6 persons. We misplaced it, or lent it out but forgot to whom, and had to buy a new tent. We got this (except in the "dark room") style to replace it, expecting it to be essentially the same tent that we had purchased some 10 or 12 years earlier. It had the benefit of being "instant up," but the negative changes were far too many. It was smaller - 10x10 - and its sides came in far more quickly. Even short people like us (5'5'' and 5'') could only stand up in the center - which was occupied by our bed. It leaked in the corners. It had only one door, not two as our earlier tent had had.
I cherish a fond hope of remembering what odd place we may have stored the old one, but so far, so good.
We returned our new tent after one use.

Good Tent
Ive had the tent aover a year now and take it on rafting trips. Its nice to have the light blocking feature for sleeping in. My only issue was it had a manufacturing defect and it was a struggle to get one pole inserted. I wrote Coleman and sent pictures. Due to COVID they took forever to get back me and when they did, it was basically a too bad so sad response. I would another one someday but definitely inspect it right away and return it to the store if it had issues instead of trying to get a warranty on it.

Finally can sleep after a long hike.
Was able to try this tent with a friend of mine. We like to hike, but can't really take a power nap because of the long daylight hours. Well to my surprise this tent really works. We both feel asleep quickly and was ready for the night's activities at the campfire.

Not bad price point
So the "darkroom technology" is misleading. The tent doesn't create a real dark room, but it does block a bit of light. We first put up the tent and saw some of the seams stretch. The tent did withstand a night of rain and some pretty gusty winds. There were no leaks or issues. The 6 person tent can comfortably hold 3 people with gear. While putting up the tent is easy, trying to get it back into the bag it comes with takes some origami skill. I am 5'9" and there was a ton of legroom and can say that anyone would be comfortable in the tent. The tent is pretty handy for car camping, but in hind sight I would probably look for something different for our specific needs. Don't forget a tool to hammer down the steaks or a fire log works great. Am I satisfied with my purchase? I think so.

Amazing tent
Tent technology certainly has advanced in recent years. I really like the way this 6 person tent stands up. I pitched this tent all by myself, in minutes .Defiantly cooler in the day and was great for sleeping in due to the light not beaming in at dawn. There is a ton of legroom and I can say that anyone would be comfortable The tent was nice and spacious inside and the dark room technology was pretty nice to keep the temperature down inside the tent.Easy to take down and pack away until next time
