Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad poles The shelter part is good, no problems with it, but it’s useless when you can’t hold it up with poles. The cord in the poles lost elasticity quickly and snapped shortly after. Even after we were able to tie the cord back together, multiple times due to multiple snaps, there was no stretch in the cord so the poles don’t bend correctly. I’ve seen a bunch of reviews and the poles are a continuous problem with this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Was a loyal Coleman customer We have bought and used coleman tents 20 years. My oldest kids would assemble a tent and periodically sleep outside in the summer and they always lasted for years. This is not the case with this one. Tent was easy enough for my 8yr and 13yr old to assemble with little supervision. Once it was assembled I double checked and all the Velcro and stakes were good. I did assist with the ropes before staking those. 13,8 and 4yr old were thrilled to be able to “camp” in our yard for 3 nights. The next 2-3 nights some rain moved in and the 2 youngest were scared to sleep outside in the rain which was fine as we didn't know how good the tent was. We were happy to find out in a relatively heavy downpour, everything in the tent stayed dry. A heatwave came through; so it was too hot to sleep in the tent. It was breezy but not any worse than when the storm earlier in the week had come through. We left the house to do some shopping and came home to find the tent flat on the ground. The poles had snapped and ripped the rain fly and the tent. The rain fly pole was even bent/cracked. AFTER 3 nights of use and NOT EVEN A WEEK ASSEMBLED! Extremely disappointed. We use to take the kids camping for 2 weeks at a time in our old Coleman tents which we retired after 5-10 of use due to various issues—pole cord elasticity being shot, broken poles, etc. I can't even imagine if we would have taken this one on an actual camping trip as it would have left us without shelter. I cannot recommend this tent based off our experience. I'm wondering if the Coleman quality of years ago is now gone. Sadly, I cannot find our receipt as I bought it in the fall and stored the tent in the garage til now. According to Coleman's warranty policy we can't even put in a warranty claim.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Super Flimsy Poles Might be the worst tent poles of all time. Tent is a great size, and easy to set up. But don’t plan on using more than once! Poles broke during our first use. Finding replacement poles had been way more difficult than it should be. Why doesn’t Coleman list the pole size (diameter/length) on the product specifications?

However after two days of the FIRST EVER use of the tent (no wind, a bit of light rain), one of the poles bent then snapped. Very poor quality poles. I can not recommend this tent. Save your money for higher quality gear.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible pole quality Bought this tent to go camping with scouts. In less than 24 hours, both main poles broke. The tent was just sitting there with very little entry/exit. One minute they were fine, the next they were broken.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great first tent for solo campers I bought this tent 4 years ago when I first started camping on my own and it's been very reliable. It's easy to set up and take down as a solo camper and has plenty of room. First night out I was caught in torrential rain and winds and it stayed standing and dry. It has since been in several storms (including hail) and has stood firm and solid. I never worry about leaving the site and coming back to a destroyed tent due to weather. My only gripe with pretty much *all* tents now, not just this one, is lack of *windows*. I'm not a fan of a huge amount of mesh with just the rainfly. I couldn't catch a decent breeze and I don't like leaving the tent uncovered and no matter how I rigged the rainfly, it wasn't enough to get good air movement. Tents, in my opinion need *windows* and the two on the door aren't enough. On a hot day and cool night my bedding would get damp and get that "camping" feeling (Ha! ironic right?) where your bedding and clothes are damp but not wet. It's not enough of a problem where I'll rag on the tent and toss it, but just an annoyance factor. Overall, in the 4 years I've owned this tent it's treated me very well. I like that the poles aren't attached and have been rugged enough to me manhandling them into place as a solo camper and have recommended it to other first time campers. I am looking for my next tent, as it's time for an upgrade.
