I was waiting to use it for actual camping. I’ve used it twice now once in a very heavy rainstorm and it did not leak anywhere so I’ll give it 10 out of 10 for waterproof, it’s very easy Tent to put together. It was done within five minutes. I would definitely recommend this tent to a friend. Depending on how crammed you like to be in a tent, I would say this is more of a four person number six me and my husband and our two huskies had ample room .

Rated 5 out of 5 by Longterm camper from Best tent ever, I will not use another fiberglass Fast 60 second set up. 6 years use. Stayed dry inside with 4" rain storm. Rainfly not necessary, yet recommend separate roof, floor tarps. Floor tent to prolong tent floor, roof tarp to keep sun off tent and provide a sun-heat barrier. Door zipper stopped working after 5 years, yet fixed easily with needle nose pliers. Use included guy lines with stakes on windy days. 6th year the bottom floor started wearig out at the seams, so I used 4 spray cans of plastidip rubber. Floor got worn from folding up and rough forest floor. Also roof poles had diffuculty remaining in position symetrically. Best tent I ever had, but time to get 8-10 person size. 6-10 fits full size air bed, 6ft inflatable couch, camp toilet 2 suitcases, Cpap, boombox, battery powerpack 2 suitcases 6 ft center in 3ft center area .

Rated 5 out of 5 by Honest camper from Excellent tent I have used the tent four times so far with great results. I, a 69-year-old male, set up and tore down the tent extremely fast by myself. I own another instant up tent for many years and still love it, but this one is easier to set up and bigger. I did a water test with a garden hose with and without the rainfly before the first camping trip. The tent had no leaks unless you point the jet stream directly at a zipper or the vent in the center. I think the hanging ring in the inside center of the tent should be a hook to hang things with a handle. The rainfly should be included. The tent stakes while okay, could be better. I am 6'1" and can stand up inside with room to spare. I also like the two side inside pockets.

I’m a single gal so anything I use I like to make sure it’s easy for one person to setup/takedown/use/put together/etc. This tent was as simple as could be to setup. It’s not heavy at all which surprised me. The instructions were easy to read and they were correct. The inside of the tent is so spacious! I am only 5’4”, but there was extra room for someone taller than me by at least a few inches. There are plenty of zipper windows for airflow and they zipped smoothly. The takedown was just as easy as setup. I’d say the hardest part was getting it small enough to fit back in the carry bag. I’m sure after a few times setting up and taking down I’ll have the hang of it. I definitely recommend this tent. Maybe not for taking on a hiking trip, since it’s too bulky for that. It’s nice for setting up outside your car though.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Steffani from Good looking tent - Leaks pretty bad I had been wanting this specific tent for a long time. I had a camping trip coming up so I decided to make the purchase. The very first night of my trip was full of rain and the tent filled with water. There are many great things about this tent. Its tall, has a sleek design and is very roomy. All of that doesnt matter much though when the water comes in. Also, the rain fly is sold separately. Coleman did send a new tent to replace it but I dont have any more camping trips planned in the near future to test it out. I am not optimistic because the other online reviews mirror my experience. In my opinion this is a moderately priced tent and should not leak like it did. I am not sure I would buy another tent from Coleman.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Dontbuythistent from Worst tent ever If you get this tent make sure the forecast is clear and don’t bring anything you’re not willing to be destroyed because this is an absolute joke of a “tent”. We got absolutely soaked our first time using it. If this tent isn’t waterproof/water resistant why on earth even make it a product? At least call it “Non-water proof instant tent”. The ease of set up doesn’t even out weigh the absolute disappointment of waking up at 4am absolutely drenched and all of our belongings ruined. This is a useless tent. Do not recommend and will never be purchasing Coleman again.

Third trip it rained on us, and it leaked water everywhere, soaking all of our bedding and clothes. This is the worst experience in my life camping in the rain, and I’ve been camping for 40 years.

I hate setting up traditional tents even under the best of circumstances, so I figured this was a good test. Not even kidding, it took 5 minutes. I’m so impressed with how easily this tent pops up and comes down. It’s also quite spacious. I could easily bring along a few buddies and dogs. My one critique is that I wish the included carrying bag was a tad larger, but I’m also impatient and want to stuff everything in and go :) With a bit of extra smooshing I was able to fit it all in and zip it up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Itrouble from Great tent. after a few mods I bought the 4 man and 6 man version of this tent over 8 years ago and still use them to this date. work great i bought the rain fly for both of them and seamed sealed them. also spayed water proofing on them once every 2-3 years to ensure they stay water proof. I did manage to tear the floor on the 4 man version, but gorilla tape solved that problem. tents are still in use now and for the foreseeable future. If yours leaks they are canvas (nylon) and they are not water proof resistant maybe spray them with a good aerosol water proof spray solves your leaks

Rated 5 out of 5 by DukeDunk from The best tent you can buy for Non-backpacking I've had this tent for 10 years, camped hundreds of nights with it predominantly around Utah and the West. It's the ideal tent for car camping for 2 adults. Instant setup, cabin style for good interior headroom, great design, good airflow, relatively durable. It's just now falling apart. Not super waterproof but we went through some gnarly storms in yellowstone with it and all was fine, let's be serious you are not taking this thing mountaineering. Also rafted down the upper Colorado river in Arizona with it and camped in cape hatteras with this thing in crazy windstorms and it was epic. Now camp on islands around Florida with it with my kids, the best. Wow I can't believe how many great memories I have with this tent....

Rated 1 out of 5 by six decade camper from Easy set up, horrible water resistance. The tent sets up extremely easily which was a feature I was looking for. The tent is abysmally inadequate in regard to repelling water, as in laughingly bad. All four walls were leaking where the floor material was sewed to the wall material. Water was leaking into both sewed in interior pockets and the interior loops at each window. If there is ANY chance of rain, bring a tarp of your own that will cover over the top of the tent, and be sure to use an elevated air mattress that will keep your sleeping bag off of the wet floor. Plan to have all your belongings in plastic totes or equivalent waterproof bags. Think of this tent as a bug free room or sun cover, but not as a weatherproof haven, because it is not up to the task.

Unfortunately very disappointed when I took it out for the very first time to go camping. The tent went up without a problem but the door Zipper at the very bottom is broken it doesn't zip together. The zipper doesn't look like it was correctly put together, no way to close the bottom of the flap on the bottom. I would like Coleman to contact me as soon as possible about possible replacement or repair of this tent considering it was broken right out of the box

I manualy added some protection to the material and it leaked again I believe in the 4 corners and center. However I was offered to replace it with the new design in this begining of season and I am confident that coleman improved the weaknesses with their new design "Skylodge™ 6-Person Instant Camping Tent, Blackberry" . The rapid mounting design is great and service as well. I am looking forward to go camping again with my new tent and will provide my review at the end of the summer.

We use a king size air mattress and that leaves roughly 2' around the perimeter to walk or store clothes. We used a heater in ours for nights in the 40s and stayed very comfortable. Its single wall, so in the cool mornings the inside of the tent had condensation on the walls (occasionally dripping on the floor) but thats normal having 3 people (myself, my wife and son) in the tent and having it sealed up completely. The tent is absolutely water and rain proof, even if its pouring. We opted for the separate rain fly which gives added support but isnt absolutely necessary. It does allow you to open the top vents and windows if there's a chance of rain. The zippers are smaller than i expected but they all work properly. Every seem is sealed with seem tape and applied perfectly to cover the stitching but in a few cases it was up to the zipper. After using the zippers a few times they were quite a bit smoother than the first 2 or 3 times. The floor is thick and sturdy but we still used a ground tarp under the tent to he cautious. We also bought nicer tent stakes before we used it the first time but the stakes that come with it are pretty nice. Thicker than you would expect and we used those. This tent is an excellent pick for value, build quality, and brand recognition. We set the tent up in less than 2 minutes (including putting stakes in the ground) every time weve used it. It also packs into the bag without expanding the bag but the original bag is expandable if you want to put other stuff in it (we store a small hammer, the rain fly, and extra stakes in the tent bag. It holds a light in the center of the canopy or a light/fan combo and has personal belonging pouches in opposite corners of the tent. We have been very happy with the set up and function of everything so far!

Took it out for its first trip outdoors and got caught in a rain storm right when we finished setting up . Water leaked in through the seams and there was water puddled in the tent. Even had the rain fly on the tent. Says weather proof but definitely not weatherproof. It is super easy to setup and take down I will say which is why it got two stars.

We set it up in the woods around spring and leave it up till fall. I do have a tarp over it to protect it from falling branches and heavy rain. Even though I bought a new one, I'm still using the old one since its already set up. Never had any issues, until this year the zipper portion is starting to give in. But again, I use it constantly from spring to fall for 4 years. This is an awesome tent. It's ridiculously easy to set up and knock down. I can do it by myself in about 2 minutes. The interior is really roomy. I have a king size mattress inside and still have about 2 feet on the side and 1 foot on the other. Worth every penny! I do recommend buying the tent fly for rain

I have owned a dozen tents. I get a new tent everyear and set it up on my property and my grandkids come every weekend and we sleep in the tent. The tent remained up for 1 year to the day. It went through hard rain, hail, ice storms, high winds, Texas heat and cold. Finally a 40 mile an hour wind shredded the seam where the the wall meets the floor. Otherwise it would be intact. I do use rebarb for the stakes which is the key because the stakes all tents come with will not withstand. I am buying another one this year. Also I added the additional rainfly which is a necessity if you really want no leaking and you plan on using it year round.

I was a bit worried since it doesn't have a separate rainfly like the previous model did, but it failed very well. Combined with the Coleman canopy, and placing it over the entrance to the tent gave me an incredible amount of space to be out of the rain and still enjoy being outside. After heavy rains the water does pool up at the top and when I push up from inside the tent to push it off, the water does drip through, so maybe a light broom to sweep off water. But for being in very heavy people rain for 4 days straight, it was surprisingly dry inside. I love that they changed to a single door, and split windows on the door. The rooftop vents are great and don't leak in heavy rain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Shelley and Mike from Highly recommend We bought this tent in 2021for a trip to Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks. The packaging is small and easy to transport. It takes two people literally five minutes to raise the tent and maybe 5-10 more minutes after that to stake everything down. Putting the tent back into the bag is a little more challenging. It comes down easily and folds up, but it’s a lot of material. We use 4 straps to cinch the tent before putting in the carrying case. Since that trip, we have used it once a year and have never had any problems with it. The one issue we had last weekend was our own fault. We never resealed the seams on the tent and had a thunderstorm and lots of rain during our trip to Cumberland Island, Georgia. The sides of the tent did leak a little. We moved everything to the middle of the tent, and it was ok, but we definitely plan to seal the scenes before we take it out again. I would highly recommend this tent.

There were puddles on the ground even. We had our 6 month old so were disappointed about it saying waterproof but it not being. They need to make a cover for this. When it’s not raining this tent is amazing and would get 5 stars. It’s sturdy and big. We love that we can stand up in it and it is very fast to set up and take down. We would recommend this tent for anyone that won’t be in rain.

Water leaked in through the seams which met the bottom tub and there was water soaked the seams of the pockets which then dropped into the tent soaking all contents, mattresses, pillows clothes. There was not much air allowed to flow through so the condensation was lining the interior of the tent.

I've had it for about 10 years, and there is only very minor stretching of the fabric. I've seen reviews where rain is a factor. ALWAYS with a tent(any tent) put a TARP over it that has 2' of overhang over each side. A tarp under it is also a good idea, have this exactly the same size as the floor, otherwise it will collect water and run the water under the tent. The tub floor styling of this tent is excellent design for not letting ground water penetrate through a bottom seam. I put the fly over it, and a tarp. I stayed dry through hours of thunderstorms with this setup. Other great features are the loop for hanging a lantern, top vent, and the two wall pockets for valuables.

The instructions were really simple . Taking it down was just as easy , it is really big inside , I fit a queen size air mattress and we still had room for the rest of our stuff , the material is very durable , I would say the only downside is that it was raining and the angle of the door made it so that when we entered the door end the rain would fall directly into the the tent .

We have been waiting to review it to see if we had enough time to go actually camping between all of my kids activities but we don't so we put it up in the backyard. It was so simple to throw up and didn't take much time to close back up either. It is a great size. I can see it fitting 6 comfortably. It has a net "window" opening on each side that you can zip up completely or unzip and keep the bugs out while getting some sun and air. The material is very strong and seems like it last through some times.

Easy setup and plenty of room. I expect to get years of use out of this tent with proper care and annual or semi-annual waterproofing. Use vapor barrier underneath for added protection.

The appeal was the time savings and ease of use that the "instant cabin" promised and it has delivered and then some. It is spacious for sleep and storing gear and has ample windows for airflow. It packs well, is easy to set up and take down. As seen in other reviews, this is not the tent for wet conditions, even a light mist will penetrate the walls and anything touching them. We typically use a tarp to keep debris off the tent and this helps but if you encounter true rain, know that your tent will be wet. I still gave this 4 stars because it's a well made product with great features but I couldn't give it higher as it allows moisture on the walls when most wouldn't unless in heavier rain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by emerald_moon from Good Enough, Survived Burning Man 3 times This tent is beginner friendly, good for car camping but too bulky and heavy if you're hiking a multi day trail. It pops up in just a couple of minutes, and it's surprisingly roomy. If you're short you'll be able to stand up straight inside which is nice. I took this tent to burning man 3 times and it did fine placed between more robust structures or nested inside a carport to protect against wind (I did not go in 2023 when it rained though; this tent would not have done well in that situation.) It has mesh covers over windows and every opening so it's pretty good in a dusty environment but you definitely need to get the rain fly or a tarp to protect it in the rain. Water comes in through the sides even though I sprayed it with water repellent every couple of years.

The setup was quick and easy even with kids pitching in, we had it ready in about 10 minutes, which made getting settled stress-free. Inside, the tent felt roomy enough for two adults and three kids, with enough space for sleeping bags and some gear, and the high ceiling made it easy to move around comfortably. It also performed well overnight, keeping us dry during a light rain and maintaining good airflow so it didn’t feel stuffy. While it may be a tight squeeze for six people with large air mattresses, it works wonderfully for families with kids or lighter packing. Overall, it’s a convenient, comfortable, and reliable option for family camping trips.

We understand that you want to know how much liquid seam sealer is required to put in the seam of Coleman 6-Person Instant Cabin. We would appreciate the opportunity to check on your inquiry. Please be advised that the waterproofing of a tent usually becomes necessary after a few years of using it. If your tent is new and has not been exposed to a lot of UV rays, you should not have to waterproof it! When setting up your new tent, please be sure to stake the tent out well, use all your guy lines and all the Velcro straps when you put on the rain fly. Those few things are critical when it comes to the performance of our tent in rainy or windy conditions. Attaching all the Velcro when putting on the rain fly will insure a good, sturdy and wind resistant overall structure of the tent. Using all your guy lines will help to guide the water away from seams and windows if it does rain. The basic rule for setting guy lines on a tent is to stake them out tight at a 45&deg; angle. The stake would normally be about 5 to 6 feet from the tent's main body, depending on the size of your tent.
