We love how simple this tent is to put up and down, with plenty of space inside! We don't get much rain here, so we haven't had a problem until now. We had a little rain last weekend and woke up to water dripping on our faces, our blankets were wet and a few puddles on the ground. It's unfortunate as we have trusted coleman camping products for years and we love the design of this tent, but it's definately not weather proof

Rated 1 out of 5 by kate8 from DO NOT BUY. ZERO STARS. LEAKS HORRIBLY. Do not under any circumstance buy this tent, it is a profound waste of money. I am a lifelong camper and have always had a brand loyalty to Coleman, as it’s what I grew up on. I’ll never buy a Coleman tent again. We’re on a month long trip through the Dakotas, Wyoming, Montana etc, and it’s BARELY SPRINKLING on our third night and water seeps through every square inch of the walls. Thank god it’s not raining harder, as my pillow and sleeping bag are already damp. I can’t stress enough, do not buy this tent.

At least I was on a cot so that I did not have to sleep in the puddles that collected before I could get a canopy set up over the tent.

Do NOT recommend this tent unless it is nothing but sun in the forecast. We even bought the rain fly/canopy for it and it still leaked.

It took me 2 minutes to set-up and that was only because my kids "helped" it would have been quicker.with just an adult. It has.so much space inside, zipper screened windows, and anchor cords for stability. I am so excited for camping season!!! It is just as easy to take down and fits nicely in the bag. The tend itselfis lightweight but looks like it will withstand some weather if the need arises.

Water ran down the side and entered through windows. Water pooled up on the floor soaking everything in the tent.

I bought this tent and only was able to use it a couple of times this year since the purchase and the door zippers are not closing and broke during the third camping trip. Very disappointed! I wonder if customer service offers repairs!

My 13 year old daughter can set tent in less than 3 mins. You can fit 2 queen mattress in and have plenty room to move and stand unless you like me and over 6ft. The only issue is that you need to spray some silicone or drap a tarp over them. Unfortunately I not got to use this tent or set it up due to the snow and weather we having in Appalachian mountains. But spring time we sure will he using the tent.

However, you can't use this tent, with even a small amount of rain. I put a tarp underneath and purchased the extra rain fly and still with slight rain, it drains off into the windows and you will see all your walls sweating down with rain and puddling inside. Was really hoping this wouldn't be the case, but tried twice with the same result. Hard to justify having a tent for only dry weather.

There is room for 2 queen sized mattresses and it sleeps 6 people. . Great screened in windows, doors and vents. It’s wind proof and water resistant. Set up and takedown is quick and easy and it stores in easy to carry zipper duffle bag. I love that there aren’t any random pieces everything is attached to the tent. Well done Coleman! An amazing product!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kim Berly from NOT WEATHERPROOF AT ALL I would not recommend this tent when raining. During a recent camping trip to mammoth lakes we used our tent with the optional rainfly. The tent seemed to leak at almost every seam. This is not waterproof nor weather resistant as claimed in the description. We had puddles of water all over the inside. We had to use bowls to bail water out of our tent. It was not fun at night in 34 degree weather with our wet gear in the tent. This is not what I expected from a Coleman product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Camping Fever from Old vs New This is my families 5 instant cabin tent, we love them a lot. When the tent is fully zipped up they are pretty air tight and in the spring and fall of the year you can put a small heater in them and they hold the heat really well. However, this new one I purchased says it is a 6 person tent but its side walls height is built different than the older ones. I have an older 6 person cabin tent from Coleman and it has more room as the walls stand more up right giving more head space.

The tent is still in good shape, still waterproof with regular water proofing. Like most tents wind driven rain can find its way in. When staked out in strong winds, its held up. Coleman dod a great job with this tent. I usually sleep myself on solo hunting and fishing trips or hords of kids and grand kids on weekends. After 16 years the floor has gotten thin in areas. I going to buy another one for sure.

There wasn't a drop of water inside the tent after the rain. That made me very happy. I let it dry and packed it back in the bag. Today I am taking it out for its first lake adventure. I am so excited for the first camping trip of the season and for my new home away from home. I am a 77 year old woman and camp solo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by valerieirene from Nice and spacious just for me and my bf! This tent comes in an awesome storage and travel bag, making it so much easier to travel with. Unfortunately, this tent was sent in the middle of New England winter…so I have not yet had the time or space to open the tent up and try it out. I look forward to using it this summer! While it sleeps 6, I prefer these tents for a giant air mattress for just me and my bf so that we have enough room for glamping! And I can’t wait to see how well the instant set up works!

Waterproofed tent and rainfly at the seams with tent water proofing at REI and some scotchgard. That was good for 24hrs of steady heavy rain. Did not chance it the second night and rigged a tarp over tent. Not one drop in tent. I am 6' tall and can stand in tent comfortably. Overall a good tent and VERY EASY to set up. I give this tent 4 stars for the value. You get what you pay for.

Of course it is Saturday and no one is answering the Coleman 800 number, so we are hosed. We also noticed on our first camping trip that one of the canvas straps that holds the frame to the tent was not sewn to the tent. This is not the quality we expected from Coleman. We are at a national park in the West and cannot leave the tent door open all night!

Rated 2 out of 5 by THughes from Good tent but leaks I bought this tent last year. The first time I used it rained during the night. I awoke to find a small puddle underneath the back window. I noticed I small trail of water coming from the seam from around the window. I kept saying that I would try to put some type of sealant on it but never found the time. This past weekend I had the opportunity to use it again. I came a torrential rainfall for several hours. I awoke again to find the same leak as well as many more. So much more that I had to make sure nothing was in the floor that would hurt to get wet. I will say this, spend the money on the rain fly. That is the only thing that didn't leak. I bought this tent because it looked easy to put up. That part didn't fail me. Love the room this six person tent gives me. Leaking like this for it to be only a little over a year is unacceptable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Shels from Poor quality zippers. Won't hold up. This tent is used for camping in the mountains. It is the perfect size for our needs and fits a queen sized cot nicely. Unfortunately, the door/window zippers are weak and don't hold up. I used my tent 3 times and the door zipper started to split behind the zipper tab. I was able to get it to work for a while, now it locks up and won't open. Almost couldn't get my stuff out to put it away. Teeth came out of the zipper, making it unusable.

I love that its not that heavy and it can be easily carried around. Plus major factor is how easy it is to build up. Just 3 steps! Putting it down is okay and not complicated like others, but I think I need to find out the best way to put this away! Haha! The insides have some small holders for your stuffs! This is a great tent for the great outdoors!

The tent is very well-made as all products from Coleman are. We have bought Coleman products our entire life. They are the best! The tent was easy to set up and take down. The instructions were very well put together. We had tons of room and we will highly recommend this tent to our friends and family that love to camp.

Leaked a little the 2nd year after a steady 8hr rain BUT after spraying it with weather proofing spray twice, it no longer leaks. Its still like new... except... A week ago, I had this tent sent up in my yard for my daughter and I to enjoy for Labor Day weekend. We couldn't go anywhere so I figured why not?? Well, a drunk driver ran into this tent (not going fast) with us in it. It ripped the spikes out of the ground on all 3 spots in the front of the tent. Can I tell you what damage was done to my tent?! A small rip in the left corner. That's it! The car stopped 2" from my 9yo daughters head. Almost ran us both over (as we were laying on the air mattress inside our tent). I can confirm that this tent will hold up against rain, wind, and drunk drivers!!!

Set up and take down was incredibly easy but it did not withstand any rain. It was a slow, on and off rain, not any major storm. All mattresses and items were away from walls. Rain came in all seams and even directly through the material. Not fun trying to sleep and getting dripped on. It was too late to return it. I've had coleman tents before with no issues but was very disappointed in this tent. Not needing a separate rainfly was too good to be true. I shouldn't have to put a sealer on it either. She plans to use it again so I have ordered a separate rain fly to see if that works. But at this point, it would have been cheaper to rent a tent last summer. I'm hoping the rain fly works if she experiences rain.

It comes with me into the mountains elk hunting and trout fishing in the Northern Midwest. I'll admit there are a few holes in it now that are taped up, but i don't plan on replacing it soon. It's spacious enough for multiple people on short trips, or 1 person for a few weeks. The setup and take down is so easy. It's basically a portable, easy to use, wall tent.

I don't know if mine was defective, but I wouldn't use this tent for any camping experience that involves unpredictable weather. It's WeatherTec insignia is a bit misleading. It's is not a survivalist. tent by any means. It was very easy for a light rain to penetrate and soak the internals of the tent And it does not come with a rain cover. Good for summer fair weather excursions only. Bring a large tarp in case if you decide to buy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by rjmorg from Solid tent. Been using it for a while now. It is easy to put up, has plenty of room, and is lasting well. I got a little bit of leaking at first. Spraying around the seems with rain repellant took care of that problem. Angle of walls lets rain in if you have to open the door. The extra rainfly does not solve this problem, but it does provide extra support for the wind. Would be great if the rainfly did a better job at covering the whole tent.

If your tent is new and has not been exposed to a lot of UV rays, you should not have to waterproof it! When setting up your new tent, please be sure to stake the tent out well, use all your guy lines and all the Velcro straps when you put on the rain fly. Those few things are critical when it comes to the performance of our tent in rainy or windy conditions. Attaching all the Velcro when putting on the rain fly will insure a good, sturdy and wind resistant overall structure of the tent. Using all your guy lines will help to guide the water away from seams and windows if it does rain. The basic rule for setting guy lines on a tent is to stake them out tight at a 45&deg; angle. The stake would normally be about 5 to 6 feet from the tent's main body, depending on the size of your tent.
