Many instant tents dont have a back window this one I thought was perfect but it does NOT an an AC port or E-port so no way to run power unless you run it under the door. If I saw this before buying it I wouldnt of bought it. I thought all modern tents had them nowadays. I dont think the tent will leak running it in the door just makes it look bad and a tripping hazard also easier for bugs.

The tent kept me dry and warm. I used a Mister Heater before going to bed and during wakeup to take the chill out of the air to dress. I used Camp Dry to seal the tent prior to my trip. Never had a problem. Best tent I have ever used. Instant Cabin Tent 6P. Only buy Coleman.

Rated 3 out of 5 by taliasabine from Tight Fit For Six I cheated and watched as my husband set this up, but he didn't appear to struggle with it. Trust me. He'd let me know if he struggled. His first response would be, "Please don't ever make me go through that again." We live in western NY, so we haven't been able to test it out, but it looked sturdy enough. I can't answer whether it would be good in inclement weather, but for a quick summer trip, it looked fine. It had plenty of zipup windows with mesh screening. The only downside that I can really observe without having actually used it is that it would be a really snug fit for six people. We actually have four children ages 6-17 and it probably wouldn't even be roomy or comfortable enough for them, let alone all six of us. But, I'm super grateful to be gifted this to try and look forward to using it once it warms up. Or, at least the kids. Their backs are younger.

The only thing that I do not like is how small the tent bag is. Trying to pack up this tent it a chore to get it in the bag! Come on Coleman, would it be that difficult to provide a bag that would fit this tent without having to force things and take the chance of separating to zipper or ripping the bag?!

It did take about 30 minutes, only because I did not read the instructions closely, just skimmed. Don't do that! Read them! Or better yet, let someone do it for you! It is very spacious with so much room! It appears to be rain proof and sturdy. Great quality in a tent! I love it!

The thing that I don't like about it is the joints are plastic. We have had ours for 4 years and one of the plastic joints broke and it is useless without a new part. The problem is there is no place to order a replacement part from. I will suggest buying this but treat it carefully when putting it up and taking it down.

Very light rain on and off early evening, EVERY seam and window leaked - so miserable with small puddles of water on the floor - we were soaked by morning. The ONLY plus is how easy it pops up. Have not had problems before with Coleman products - but not so sure anymore. It would cost more to ship it back than to buy another tent -

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kabc from Extremely happy with our choice, up in minutes!! Reasons for purchase were: 1. Wanted a tent that was easy to put up and we could stand up in. 2. Wanted one without the whole top being mesh so we could use with a portable air conditioner and try to keep the cold air in the tent. We purchased the 6 person for two people and though it says you do not need a rain tarp, we are old school and bought one anyway. We put a tarp under our tent. It’s is super easy to put up as described, only like a minute or two. Takes longer to put in the stakes or anchor down the tent ropes. Taking down is a little longer trying to get the air out, my husband does good at getting back into the original bag. Hook at top perfect for a hanging light!! First camping trip it poured rain the last night and then had light showers the entire next morning when we were making breakfast and packing up. Tent held up and there were no leaks. Out of the 4 times we have used the tent, 3 times we brought the portable air conditioner. Found out quickly we needed to unzip a few windows a few inches or else the tent walls were being sucked in. We already owned the air conditioner or we could used a smaller one. Is a bit large for the tent but works great! Since the tent is dark, it heats up quickly if the sun is shining directly on the tent. Obviously we camp where we have electricity so the one time we camped in the cold, we used electric blankets. Fits queen sized air mattress, a small table, our bags and a small stool with some extra bstanding room. Unless you are using small sleeping pads, maybe even cots, in my opinion it would be a tight fit for a family of 4. It is perfect for the two of us!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kelli M. from Sturdy tent, would buy again Took these camping at Lake Powell for 5 nights and they did awesome. Withstood steady rain (not a downpour) and kept us dry. First night we had them up they survived some pretty strong wind (20-30mph gusts). We did have them stake with 2 foot rebar stakes. We were super impressed and pleased also that the tent didn't let any sand in during the wind. Something we've had problems with with other tents.

I have had my instant cabin 6 person for 4 years now and it has gone thrugh some exstreme weather in Iceland. Where other tents were collapsing and flying over the whole camsite and some becoming airborn hovering like ufo's, the instant cabin 6p stayed strong on top of the hill like a king. This tent has strong skeliton that is far superior from any other tent ive ever seen. I will buy this again if mine ever breaks. The only thing i can complain about is if its heavy rain, (like in the shower) the sems for the support stings have dripped inside. But thats expected in 40mps in monsoon like conditions. Its so nice to be able to open all 4 sides of the tent and let the fresh breeze in on hot summer days. Cold air in, flyes stay out becouse of the flynet. masterpeace of a tent.

I know I’ll love it as much as the 4 person tent. So so easy to set up. Haven’t experienced any wind or rain yet, so can’t comment on that part. Someone in the comments said they sprayed theirs with a water repellent. Sounded like a good idea…..I did the same. Looking forward to using it.

I could stand in it comfortably and we fit two blow up mattress in there! It’s completely waterproof and snow proof (we tested it during the snow fall because we wanted to see how well it held up) it fit my family of three perfectly with so much room!

I use this tent for Beach camping every summer for two weeks and it has been perfect. I love the windows on every wall and the ease of setting up and taking down. I can put it up and take down in a minute If I could make one suggestion...bring back the tent in the color blue!

You just unfold, pop it into place and secure it to the ground in case of wind. There is so much space! You can use it for up to 6 people or have lots of extra space with less campers. The ease of use is honestly insane and the price point is amazing! I highly recommend this tent for new campers!

Rated 4 out of 5 by CampingFam from Great tent We have this tent for about two years and it really works great, the only complaint I have is that we are a family of 4 and even thou this is a 6 person tent we barely fit, thinking in upgrade to a 8 person. About the rain, we have zero problems with it. Living in South Florida, rain will mees up your camping trip at any time, this tent went through light and heavy rain with no problem.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Roland from Great Tent, Needs Fine Tuning Pretty good first time out. Some of the waterproof tape is already peeling back and the door zippers keep getting stuck. Additionally, the tent stakes are extremely cheap and bend easy. Otherwise, I like the tent, easy to set up and if it wasn't for those minor issues, this could easily be a five star tent. Also, the dimensions are clearly stated but this is at most a 4 person tent.

The tent NEEDS a rainfly, but of course, Coleman does not make one that fits this tent. Their rainfly accessory only fits the "instant tent" NOT the "instant cabin". Do not attempt to use this tent if there's even a chance of rain in the forecast, as it is not remotely waterproof. Even dew will leak in.

The only reason I gave it two stars is because it does only take 60 seconds to build. However, I am literally getting soaked as I try and sleep through a light to moderate rain storm in my first night in the tent. Whatever weather technology they claim is in this tent is non-existent. Please do not buy.

Its roomy and lightweight making it easy to carry and store. It also has the quickest and easiest assemble time my 9 year old and 2 of his friends were able to do it. On our first night trying it out it rained and water dripped from the top and all the seams . I don’t know if we’re the chosen ones that got the bad tent or if anyone else had the same problem, but now we just cary an extra tarp to cover the tent just in case it rains.

It is quick and easy to set up only takes a few minutes. I recommend getting the rain fly so you can have the windows open in the rain to keep it dry. It is very large inside, I am 6‘4“ and able to stand up inside of it. Great choice if you’re camping out of a vehicle.

Why not just make an adequate rainfly and either include it or sell as an accessory. I would buy one as i really need one now that i bought the tent. I didnt even look at it until i opened it. Why would your sell a tent without one. Makes zero sense.

The material on the first one just finally gave up after years of desert wind and blowing sand. Our new tent is identical, however the hinges seem weaker. I broke three of them already. I had to drill out the hinges to accept through bolts and locknuts. Took five minutes to fix. This is a fantastic tent which I'm sure will last ten years just like the last one. And, yes, it goes up in 60 seconds easily. People we camp with are truly amazed how quickly it goes up and just how roomy it is. What's frustrating is I can get this thing up in 60 seconds and then I've got to wait for everyone else to get ready... Got to be patient if you own this tent. Can't say anything about it being waterproof. We used it in the rain a few times, no problems but we sleep on cots off the floor so we don't really care if the floor gets wet and really never noticed any water.

The very first time I camped in it, I couldn't get one of my poles to collapse. The mechanism inside was not functional, so I ended up sending my first tent back. I received a replacement tent and have not had any issues with the polls, but I've camped in it two times and both times I woke up to pools of water in the corners of the tent, even though I had a tarp underneath. The seams are extremely leaky. Another issue I've experienced is no matter how carefully I fold the tent back and put it in its bag, I always end up with a new small puncture somewhere. I'm very mindful of putting the stakes back in its bag and making sure I fold back neatly. I have no idea how the punctures are occurring. I'm guessing it's a design flaw. If you're looking for a tent that's quick and easy to set up you don't mind a damp tent and mysterious holes, I recommend the six person instant tent.

This definitely checks that box, everything snaps into place within five minutes. However, the ventilation is a disaster. Even with all the windows open and only two people inside, the roof is dripping with condensation on a cold morning. As for rain, it leaks a little bit everywhere.

And despite leaving all of the windows open, there was so much condensation on the inside of the tent that it it dripped on me all night. All that being said, the tent really is very easy to set up and it is spacious. I really wanted to like this tent.

It's not raining but water is seeping in everywhere from the dew. This tent is not water proof nor water resistant! There's a tiny hole in the tent. We'll have to cut our camping short because dew water from top of tent are dropping on our faces.

I used it on four different trips to sturgis and never had any issues. It held up in the extreme weather changes in the Black Hills! Torrential downpours, hail, high heat, severe wind, etc. You name it, we experienced it. But the experience was perfect! We stayed dry and safe in the tent.

Fits two Easy Step cots parallel with plenty of room in the middle. Center height is just at 6’ and makes for easy movement in the tent as well as getting in and out. Plenty of ventilation with big windows and canopy vent.

If your tent is new and has not been exposed to a lot of UV rays, you should not have to waterproof it! When setting up your new tent, please be sure to stake the tent out well, use all your guy lines and all the Velcro straps when you put on the rain fly. Those few things are critical when it comes to the performance of our tent in rainy or windy conditions. Attaching all the Velcro when putting on the rain fly will insure a good, sturdy and wind resistant overall structure of the tent. Using all your guy lines will help to guide the water away from seams and windows if it does rain. The basic rule for setting guy lines on a tent is to stake them out tight at a 45&deg; angle. The stake would normally be about 5 to 6 feet from the tent's main body, depending on the size of your tent.
