Rated 4 out of 5 by Tenter52 from Extremely durable - one major design flaw. I've used this tent for 8 years, 3-4 trips per year. It is EXTREMELY durable. Haven't had a single zipper, guy line, tent peg loop, clip, pole break - nothing. Nothing is peeling or showing signs of wear. The light colour has meant no sun fading. The reinforced bottom keeps the floor inside the sleeping section totally dry, even in a downpour. The design is spacious, the height is perfect. However, there is one design flaw that in poor conditions just totally shows they didn't test it. The front vestibule angles out from the fly. Water goes through the mesh and literally pools in the vestibule. Thankfully, the main tent is so waterproof on the bottom that it doesn't affect your sleeping area, but the vestibule is a complete mess if you don't have an additional tarp over you. They needed to either extend the fly to cover the angle or have the mesh angle 90degrees to avoid catching the rain. Other than this one issue, I love this tent and it is showing virtually no signs of wear after many years of use.

The tent is very cool looking, great price, the screened in porch is nice to have, the actual tent portion is spacious, but I have a couple reservations. Here they are: 1.) The tent is not fitting two queen sized air mattresses as advertised. Unless you put one in the porch area. 2.) The screened in porch area while being nice to have is exposed to the elements. There is a mesh part of the floor where the water is to drain, but it's near the door of the tent, so in order for it to drain you would have had to pitch your tent on an angle towards the door(which you don't do). Took it out for the first time, had a good rain, the porch was flooded. I had to physically brush all the water out the door(which was a lot) and let it sit to dry. Why they wouldn't just continue the rain fly to cover the entire area is beyond me. 3.) As I mentioned we had some rain first time out, well the corners didn't hold up. The seams of the two back corners are more exposed to the elements than the front two and water seeped in. I just put a towel in each corner so the water wouldn't go any further. If we had more than a day of rain it may have posed more of an issue. When we got home I bought seam sealant, sealed all the corners, so will see how that holds up if we get rain with the tent again. 4.) The added material to tie off the front screened in porch and the top of the tent to their respective poles holds, but seems like it may rip over time. Possibly some type of more durable clip system would have been better. Otherwise it is a nice tent for the price and looks cool, so I can still recommend the tent. Just may have to invest in an additional rain fly or pop up canopy to cover the screened porch area.

We bought the 12 person version of this tent after our wedding last year and I recently had the pleasure of finally testing out this amazing camping tent, and I couldn't be more impressed. Not only did it stand strong against harsh winds and heavy rain, but it also provided ample space for my family of 2 adults, 2 kids, and 2 dogs. With space for separate beds for everyone and enough room to store both food and gear, this tent truly exceeded all expectations. I highly recommend this tent to anyone looking for a reliable and spacious shelter for their outdoor adventures.

We had one clip break the first time we set it up. I think 6 people would be tight in the main area. The screened-in porch is perfect for dirty shoes, etc. We purchased through Home Depot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JinNJ from The porch is a useful feature We’ve used this tent for a few car camping trips now and we’re very happy with it. It goes up quickly. My kids can help with it. The front porch is a really useful feature. It allows us to keep gear out of the sleeping area but also out of the rain and nearby. I marked it down to 4 stars because the rain fly is frustrating. It would really help to have markings on it indicating the front and back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by fantom from Great tent overall Great tent for most weather. Haven't been through any rain yet. I put it up alone the first time in about 15 minutes. The directions are minimal. Pay attention to how the tent is folded. I staked the rear end of the tent to act as a second set of hands. Then staked the rest of the tent after it was up and the clips were all attached. Make sure the tension on the clips are the even all the way around. The stakes are a joke. Get a real set of metal tent stakes.The poles make for a sturdy frame. The tie lines are attached from the factory. The rain fly is easy to install as well and fits nicely. I loosely tied the pole to the underside of the rain fly pole to use as a handle. The "lantern" logos are the sides. There is a little triangle sewn to the back of the fly, which covers the back window fairly well. I do recommend a tarp to protect the bottom of the tent. The screen room is really nice. The floor has a mesh drain by the main door. Also comes with a rectangular piece to use as a "porch" for the screen room entrance. Best to put a welcome mat over it. It's a nice touch. The main poles attach to a 4 way center hub which is only tied to the top of the tent. I untied the poles and placed in one of the bags to repack the tent. Since I was alone, Take down is really easy. Everything fit in the storage bag easily, nice and snug. You MUST remove the white strip on the bottom. It allows the bag to expand.

One thing to note is the porch isn't waterproof so anything left in it will get wet in the rain. I've slept in torrential rains and thunderstorms twice now and the inside if the tent was completely dry. Fantastic tent

Well needless to say that several of the black plastic clips (that hold the tent to the poles) broke during the setup. So very disappointed & this has turned into so much hassle.

Terrible instructions, especially for the rain fly, but you'll figure it out, and feel good about yourself. It's a great rain fly once you put it on though, kept us dry in heavy rain and wind. But didn't keep us warm! This tent has a mesh wall and top, which is great in warm or mild weather. But in the cold ... well it's cold. The "porch" is real nice, but only half-covered by the fly. It will get wet in there. And it adds 5 feet to the width of the tent. In a lot of our campgrounds that makes it difficult to find enough level space. The sides slope inward quite a bit, so I couldn't fit my cot across the short dimension of the tent, had to go side to side, and then there's really only room for one. Oh well, my sons can sleep on the floor. It's a great tent, especially for the money, but it's not all things to all folks. I'm going to try a taller one with straighter sides, more depth, and no porch.

Rated 1 out of 5 by darknessajj from Do not buy!! I purchased a Coleman 8 Person Fast Pitch Steel Creek Tent. The rain fly to snapped, the rain fly also grew mold at the seam and started to leak. The pole foot on the front left ripped right off. This tent was used only 3 times, packed properly, stored indoors, and dried properly. Coleman said warranty was only for 1 year so did nothing.

I loved the screen porch, as did my dog. Unfortunately, my garage was broken into this wknd and the tent was stolen, so I won't have it for my trip next wknd, but I'll definitely look at getting another!

The rest of the tent was comfortable and dry. Putting up the tent was not easy. I had to ask a person nearby to help me. It took a while to get it up even with help since there were no written directions included. Also, the bag is too small to store the tent in as tent bags always are.

The set up was a breeze for me like the fast pitch. The screen house with flooring is perfect especially since at the time I was camping with a toddler. Great place for her to play with her toys. Still to this day it’s my favorite tent! Only downside is a couple of the clips did break.

With our two cots, it’s a little tight when facing then from the door to the back of the tent. This tent gives an additional two feet that way, an additional one foot side to side, and an additional foot on the porch. This makes a world of difference. The tent is easy to setup, and has plenty of guy lines to tie off with. Overall it’s a great tent.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Alex from Failed to keep us warm I purchased this tent to replace my old 6-person dome made by Coleman. Overall, I think highly of this brand. I always thought that having a small porch or screen room would be a good idea to store different item and yet keep them outside of the sleeping area. Finally a few days ago I got a chance to take this tent camping for a few days. I was excited and my 7 year old son was excited too. Overall, the size of the tent and the design of the screen room were fine, exactly what was I expected. However, this tent failed one of the basic expectation, to keep us warm at night time. Let me tell you, I don't get cold easily, and I always come prepare for the worse. On this particular day, the temperature dropped from 75 degree during the day time to 39 degrees around 5am. Usually I would be wearing just some underwear and sleep inside of my sleeping bag. On this night, I had, underwear, fleece jacket, another jacket, and my sleeping bag of course. Still I was shaking, could not even fall asleep. The reason why this tent could not keep us warm, is that the back wall of the tent is made out of mash, and no option of zipping it with a nylon cover. It is like sleeping with a door wide open. I called the Coleman company and asked why there is no option of 'sealing' that back panel. The answer that I receive was that the company is gearing towards 3-season tents, with more ventilation. That is crazy, all what this tent needs is another piece of nylon that covers this wall just like they cover all the other windows. Sorry, but I will not going to carry multiple tents and then, depending on the weather condition select which one to use. I expect all the option to be available. I just can't believe that a tent can't keep you warm due to design issue. On that day both my son and I came home sick. Very sad experience. I wish the company would emphasize that this tent is only designed for a warm summer like weather.

However, one of the rods broke the second time we set-up the tent. Now I've had to spend money to purchase a replacement rod kit and hope we can fix the pole. It is on a main hub that connects all four main poles and there is no option to purchase the entire part.

It has a screen so that you can see outside while you’re inside. It does block the noise a little bit so it’s perfect. For naps and for sleeping at night. It’s an olive green color with bright green accents.

I used my tent the day it was delivered and it was really disappointing that it immediately broke. I had to use a tie to keep the pole connected otherwise the front was pulling downward too hard. I really enjoyed every other aspect of this tent but am so very unhappy.

A helpful tip is to make sure the tent is fully dry and tightly folded into long, even sections before rolling it up as tightly as possible, pushing out excess air as you go. Starting from the opposite end of the bag opening can also make it easier to fit back in. It can take a bit of practice, but these steps usually help it pack down more efficiently.

Thank you for your question. Please be advised that Coleman's MINIMUM hydrostatic head rating for the fabrics in this tent is 450mm. During batch and periodic quality testing we find most of the materials test at a much higher rating. Waterproof materials do not 100% translate to a waterproof tent. The waterproofing of the tent is measured by our rain testing, which simulates a 6&quot; per hour rain. To make our tents as waterproof as possible we tape all of the rainfly seams, use our WeatherTec inverted seams in other area, and use a patented welding process. We also enhance storm worthiness by our rainfly designs. Specifically our rainfly's extend in such a way that runoff or dripping water is unlikely to fall on a door or window area when the tent is properly setup and guyed. Last we use polyester tent bodies and rainfly's, which adds inherent waterproofing as polyester is a hydrophilic (water-fearing/shedding/repelling) material. Also, this tent has protected seams inverted floor seams dramatically increase weather resistance by hiding needle holes inside the tent, away from the elements.
