We LOVE the new 8-person tent we bought really just for the 2 of us, but wanted to be able to fit our Queen Air bed in there with a couple of chairs and a table and be able to stand up. It does all that! Worked out great! Only reason I marked it down 1 star is that you have to purchase the rainfly seperately which I think should be included. Living and camping in Virginia,you have to be PREPARED for RAIN!!! Also, don't like that you basically have to use 2 hands to zip and unzip the door cuz there is nothing to anchor it too. Poor design especially compared to our old Coleman tent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dupin from Nicely done I am in general pleased with this tent. First night out...a couple of summers ago, we had a deluge and had no leaks. However, this last Christmastime camping, a storm did cause a few drips. I had bought the rain fly, but hadn't used it, so put it on for the spring break camping. As expected, 8 people would be real cozy, though having doors at each end helps. I haven't had more than 4 people, and it's been quite spacious for that, even with 3 cots. Note that for full structural integrity in a strong wind, the guy lines are definitely needed. It is self-standing, but is wobbly in the wind without those.

Rated 3 out of 5 by 392Scout2 from Windows DO NOT fully zip These are really great tents. The recent advertising pictures you will find show the OLD superior version of this tent. (instant 8) the new version does not have the small triangular vent flaps at the roof center. The new tent (2020 version) windows, the two largest windows, are not fully zipped up. The sides of the window zip but the top is open. Rain will not come in at all but if you are planning to use in a dusty situation you really want the windows to fully zip. This is still a great tent, sturdy and easy to set up on a relatively flat surface. The support legs and fabric cut tolerances are best for a flat ground setup.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Romanjrey from Leaking severely This tent is awesome. Love mostly everything about it except for the leaking through the front door. I’ve taken it camping twice since opening the box last week and each time I went it was raining lightly all through the day and night. Both times I woke up to wet items on the floor of the tent. I’m very disappointed and frustrated to say the least. Nothing worse then being 3 hours from civilization and all of your clothes are soaking wet. I thought the first incident was my fault for maybe not closing the door all the way, turns out it was 100% the tents fault. I wouldn’t recommend this tent for camping in the rain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MarkW from Great 'glamping' tent My wife and I have had ours for about 5 years and slept in it dozens of nights with no problems. Nothing has bent or broken. We've actually figured out how to cinch it down small enough to take on an airplane without paying oversize luggage charges and have taken it all over the country that way. I see some people have run into problems with poles that don't want to extend -- that happens to us occasionally, but I find that a little twist frees things up to slide easily. We also always extend and lock the roof poles first before raising the side poles.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Vtpatman from A good luxury size shelter. I have been using my instant tent for 4 years now. 3 to 4 times a year for a week each time. As described it goes up in an instant. The floor and body are solid. The tent seals up tight or nearly entirely vents also. Great in hot and cold weather. Plenty of room for a queen sized bed table and chair when being used as extra space for guests. Or queen air bed and cots when camping. Rain will cascade right on to the door making it impossible to go in and out without getting tent and self entirely soaked so you need to buy the available fly and incorporate a tarp or canopy system. I raised my point Loma to cover 1/2 of the tent and have a covered porch. Fantastic combo.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Sink from Great at first... We’ve had this tent for a little over 2 years and have used 6-8 times. This was a replacement tent for one that was purchased in 2017 and replaced under warranty. Our current tent had 2 corner roof poles go bad. The clips to lock them into place broke so the tent was very unstable and caused the tent to leak when it rained. (The tent had never leaked in the past and handled rain very well in the past.) The last 2 days I have been trying to find the replacement part, but the part has been discontinued and no one carries it. (Part # 5010000829) The only suggestion Coleman’s customer service could offer was trying to replace it with a side roof pole which wasn’t close to being the same size. Now I’m stuck buying a new tent instead of spending $10-15 on replacement parts.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kinkat from Not a happy camper! This is my first time camping in this tent and probably my last. The poles would not extend to full length and lock. It took 2 strong men to finally extend enough to make it work. 3 of the top extension poles had this problem. The poles were assembled backwards. My camping trip is over tomorrow and I am dreading breaking it down. I will comment on how that works out. I am disappointed that Coleman sold such faulty tent. I will be contacting customer service when I return home. I hear others did not have much luck with them. Coleman should stand by their products if they want to have loyal , happy customers.

Regarding the roof poles, all of the roof poles should extend fully to provide the proper structure for the tent. It sounds like you might be experiencing an issue with the side poles not reaching the ground without bending the top poles.
Please ensure that:

1- All Poles Are Fully Extended: Double-check that all roof poles are completely extended. Sometimes they can appear extended but might need an extra push to lock into place.
2- Correct Setup: Follow the step-by-step instructions provided in the manual. If you did not see extenders on the roof side for the two poles, there might be a step missed or an extender that needs to be fully engaged.
3- Tent Orientation: Ensure the tent is oriented correctly on flat, level ground. An uneven setup can sometimes cause poles to appear misaligned.
If after trying these steps the issue persists, there might be a defect with the tent. In that case, please contact us for further assistance.
