The third time I took it camping, 2 of the poles broke apart, making the tent useless..While putting it up, suddenly two of the plastic pole joints just broke and snapped apart, bending the bolts in the process. It cost way too much money to only have it last for 2 camping trips, which were only 3 days each.. There was no way to fold the tent back up to put back in the bag, so it was carted off by state park employees, since there was no way for me to get it back home in the mangled mess it became trying to "fix' it. I had to borrow a tent from someone else for my 5 day camping trip. I contacted coleman and was offered 25% off my next purchase plus free shipping, which is what they are offering EVERYONE that orders from their website. Obviously, they do not stand behind their products. My replacement tent will NOT be a coleman!!!!

Looking for replacement parts is not easy, so I will try to figure out on my own how to resolve my problem. I already contacted the company and received no response.

When opening the tent the rain was coming through every sealed window and the roof. Our pillows, sleeping bags, clothes, and air mattresses were soaked completely through. Puddles were in every corner of the tent as well as the center. This was our second time using the tent! Had to throw it out and had two very disappointed and wet children. I have been camping for 19 years and have never had such a negative experience. DO NOT BUY THIS TENT IT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!!!! please see pictures, windows are open to attempt to air out the tent**

We has the same problem as Not a Happy Camper; 3 poles would not extend. This was the first time we used it. Again, we are very familiar on how to pitch the other Coleman instant tents, so this poor engineering and manufacturing was extremely disappointing. Because 3 poles wouldn't extent, we pitched a unbalanced tent that put pressure on two other poles, bending them out of shape. We had to throw the tent out! What a waste.

This text was very expensive to only last for 2 years I’ve had other tents now for 10+ years (not Colman). I called coleman and was offered only 15% off my next purchase but online the have a code for 20% for every one. Obviously, they do not stand behind their products! I will no longer be purchasing from Colman any longer !

Rated 5 out of 5 by John P from Great Tent I have had this tent for 8 years now and it works great. We have used it probably 20 times for an estimated total of 60 days. I can't say anything negative about it. It goes up easy and is quite roomy. The only downside is I wish that it had a fly.

I Had the coleman rainfly placed, which helped, however the bottom layer of fabric did not hold up. Rainwater seeped through the fabric and created flooding inside the tent. The happened throughout the entire bottom layer of fabric. I wish I could return this tent but unfortunately it is outside the return period.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ScottT from Manufacture defect in one pole Worst experience with this tent. I camp at least twice every year and got this tent in my wedding registry. Thought it would be good quality as you would expect from Coleman, but was dead wrong. Pole was flipped upside down (manf defect), a plastic ring that clips to the pole snapped, and so did the leg as the bracket was put on upside down as well. Coleman did nothing when I called twice to return, so beware if this happens to you. My wife picked the tent out, should have read the reviews first. Lots of similar issues I've found.

We used it less than ten times and we loved it,but then the roof pole, which was manufacturerd wrong, broke. It was assembled twisted so it eventually got stuck and couldn't be fixed or replaced bc the part was discontinued. Tons of other people have had the same problem. It makes me sick that I can't fix this and have to throw it away.

We have had this tent for 2 years and so far have had two replacement tents, and if I felt like it was worth it, I would be contacting Coleman again for a third tent. First, it says it takes 60 seconds to put up and has limited directions. It may take 60 seconds to put up if all the poles lined up correctly. One time they do and then the next time, they have sifted due to screws being lose or some other malfunction. Last night, we could not get one pole to slide down so we had a lopsided tent. Luckily no rain or other weather conditions. The main difficulty we have had is the poles break easily during take down. You think you are closing it properly and then suddenly you hear the snap of a broken pole. We are always careful, but having had the tent poles break twice, we do not think it is us being too hasty to take down. Also, the tent is heavy and cumbersome, but we expected that. It is roomy and would have been perfect for our family of 5, but we just cannot love or even Like this tent. I should also say that we have had Coleman tents in the past and have be pleased with the quality for the price. If we were to purchase another Coleman tent it would definitely not be within this Instant tent line again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hosannah from Best tent I have ever had! I have been camping since I was a toddler. I have backpacked, been in SAR in Alaska, camped and hiked all over the western states. I have owned such a wide variety of tents but this tent is amazing. I am 70 yo and now usually camp alone. I can set my camp up easily and be ready to enjoy my time in the outdoors. If I am riding my motorcycle (has a sidecar) and it's raining, there is room in the tent for my bike too. I can recommend the entire line of Instant tents and shelters (I have an Instant dining canopy tent also). You can get as many people in as you need to. Always room for one more.

There are screws missing in the center connection along with extendible arm poles that do not extend. We need a whole new pole system which is not available. It is now useless and a waste of money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Colemansucks! from Don't buy this tent - NO GOOD in the RAIN!!!! This tent was great the two times we took it on camping trips when it did NOT rain. When we took it to Pennsylvania two weeks ago, it poured and the tent leaked EVERYWHERE. The floor was quickly filled with puddles and despite putting a tarp over the tent the next night, it was flooded again. Rain was coming in from the sides of the tent, the roof, and the floor. We left it in the woods as a donation to whoever wants a tent that is of no use in the rain. Don't buy this product. It is pure garbage.

I was quite impressed at firs but now that it’s crummy plastic hinge is broken and they don’t offer it I’m probably going throw it out vs repair it like my grandfather would have done with his Coleman equipment. The reviews were good when this was new. Not so much anymore

I just decided to set it up again today to camp out with the kids but it rained and water got inside the tent. Luckily we didn’t get everything setup inside the tent. Rated 5 out of 5 by Weinstein from Hubba, Hubba, Bubba I don't get it. The poles on my 8 person are designed different than in the photo, actually has 2 hubs. Been very satisfied with mine so far, but just used it a few times. I am VERY picky about how I fold and repack the tent making certain that no parts of the hubs come in contact with fabric more than necessary. I use a couple small pieces of cardboard to protect the junctions. I also use compression straps to keep things snug and then have the additional room in the bag for the just slightly undersized ground cloth to protect the tent from mother earth. DO NOT PACK TENT WET! If you do then first chance you get; reset, dry thoroughly and repack. I have my original Coleman 2 burner deluxe gas stove and it is still works great! 46 years later!

It is the first tent that hasn't leaked through many rain storms. The best part is that it takes 2 minutes to setup or take down. For all the people complaining about the poles... Read the instructions. I would guess they tried opening them before extending the poles which does not work. They then probably forced the poles into position and bent them. I will buy another one of them when this one finally dies, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

We found this 8-10 person instant cabin tent. The first use was perfect. Having used it once a year for about 6 years tops. It gradually started to leak. Making what we never thought would be our last camping trip. It stormed! Everything leaked even with the umbrella on it. I see you make a better one now, supposedly more waterproof. After reading this, will you consider replacing ours with your newer one? So we can again camp comfortably but dry.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Master Chief X from Major Disappointment – Fabric Leaks in Light Rain I'm currently camping in this 8-person Coleman tent and unfortunately it's not holding up. It's been raining moderately — not heavy storms — and the tent is already leaking through the fabric itself, not just the seams. We're worried that if the rain picks up, the inside will be completely soaked. The product description made it seem like no additional rain fly was necessary, but that’s clearly not true. Meanwhile, the smaller 4-person Coleman tent we also brought is handling the rain just fine. It's frustrating that the larger, more expensive model actually performs worse in the same conditions. I’ll most likely be returning it after this trip. If you’re considering this tent, know that it absolutely needs additional waterproofing, and even then it may not hold up. I’d recommend looking at other options if you want something reliable for real-world camping.

You do need to be careful and easy on the poles to not get them jammed or brake a knuckle where they bend. The first two times I used the tent the experience was great. Roomy. Set up cots inside. Felt like glamping. The next three times I’ve encountered rain. Like others the floor gets soaked and water appears to be coming through sides and seems. I have additional rain fly and that dues not help. Between the first time in rain and the next two times I have seem sealed and weather sprayed the entire tent twice. I have slowed down leakage but floor still gets wet. Very very disappointed and frustrated. I won’t be using the tent again as I can’t risk it raining while camping and having everything get wet. An expensive lesson. Dint buy unless you can guarantee you’ll be camping in dry weather.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Davidd from I wish I could say I like it I really like the layout of this tent and how easy it is to setup and take down. However, it is NOT weather proof. The first time I used it it worked great; it rained for several hours over night and there wasn't a drop of water in the tent the next morning. But the next time I took it out it started leaking like a sieve and now the tent won't even keep the dew out. I wish I could recommend this tent because there are things I really like about it. But when I pay $300 for a tent that has a "built in rainfly" I expect it to work more than once.

Purchased the tent and rain fly which is a must! and it has stood up to 30-35 mph wind gust that blew for hours late in the evening and night, heavy rains no leaks in the tent lots of room inside, and very easy to set up i did it by myself took me about 7-10 min at the most, Temp got down in the 36-39 stayed warm with a small heater great tent to buy.

Called for replacement part they said they don't make them. So in the trash it goes. Also bought a camping grill guess what the regulator went out of it. It was designed where the regulator was not removable. So there advice was buy a new one. I will never buy another Colman product again.

The others appear to have been installed upside down or backwards. From reading other reviews it appears that this is not an isolated problem. Coleman, you need to fix this! I returned this tent for a refund and will try buying from another company. No more Coleman tents for me!

Regarding the roof poles, all of the roof poles should extend fully to provide the proper structure for the tent. It sounds like you might be experiencing an issue with the side poles not reaching the ground without bending the top poles.
Please ensure that:

1- All Poles Are Fully Extended: Double-check that all roof poles are completely extended. Sometimes they can appear extended but might need an extra push to lock into place.
2- Correct Setup: Follow the step-by-step instructions provided in the manual. If you did not see extenders on the roof side for the two poles, there might be a step missed or an extender that needs to be fully engaged.
3- Tent Orientation: Ensure the tent is oriented correctly on flat, level ground. An uneven setup can sometimes cause poles to appear misaligned.
