Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tent for the price! I have owned this tent for about 5 years, it has been on numerous camping and hunting trips and it has been a great tent for me. I am now in the process of looking for a new tent as this one is getting some wear on it and the zipper on the door is getting harder to zip since it is failing due to my dog pushing through it once in the middle of the night. The door now stays partially open when the dog comes camping to not have this happen again. There are so many options for tents out there that it is hard to chose what to get. First thing to keep in mind is this tent is not designed to keep you warm, but more to keep you dry and keep the bugs off of you. My advice for anyone that buys this tent is to go and buy a cheap blue tarp to put over the top of it if you really want to expand the capabilities of this tent. The storage bag is big enough to hold the tarp and the tent and you would be amazed as to what that extra layer does. I have had this tent with the tarp over it, with almost a foot of snow fall during elk season and with the addition of my Mr. Heater, I stayed comfortably warm at night. This is a $125 tent and although that can be a lot to some people, it is a good price for a tent of this size and with the addition of a $25 tarp you are going to have a decent tent for most. Another trick to limit air flow into the tent is leave the pole out of the rain fly that is provided and secure the ground ties on the backside of the rain fly as close to the base of the tent as possible. This will keep that big gaping hole on the back of the tent that is just mesh, covered for the most part. I do like the screened porch as it helps keep you from tracking dirt, mud and snow into the main part of the tent and it allows an extra layer to keep the mosquitoes and other flying bugs out in the summer. You can sit under it to keep the sun off or bugs away from you, but it won’t do much as far as keeping you real dry if it is snowing or raining. This tent sets up very quickly once you do it a couple of times and it can be done with one person. Tear down is simple and like I stated above, everything fits easily back into the bag. This tent is somewhat heavy so I wouldn’t suggest taking it to far away from you vehicle if you don’t have too. This is a 6 man tent, but I like things to be roomy and comfortable. I have two sleeping arrangements that I go with and that is either two cots or one air mattress. My suggestion for a family of four would be to get a bigger tent if possible. When I take my two kids camping and they don’t have a family members camper to sleep in, I take my 10 man tent so we aren’t piled on top of each other. Besides the addition of the tarp over the tent for cooler weather and climates, I would also suggest getting bigger tent stakes which is with a lot of tents. This will help secure things better and the rain fly on this tent could be like a parachute if the wind came in from the right direction. Good luck in your search for a tent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tent!!! I would buy it again. I have had this tent for 8 years and I use it every year. I am a very short woman and I can put it up by myself in about 10 minutes. It has great space and has always stayed dry, through heavy rain and high winds. I agree with the review that says it should also have a fly to cover the screened porch. I love it and I will buy another if I need to replace it in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommend this tent This tent kept us dry during heavy rain and snow and held up against 30mph wind gusts like a champ! After the first two set ups, assembly has been a breeze! It takes us about 20 minutes total including laying out the tarp to go underneath. This is a very spacious tent. With the 6 person there’s plenty of room for my husband and I, our dog, queen mattress, table, chairs, cooler, and multiple bags. Last camping trip we had ants on our rain fly, but they never made it inside our tent! Did a great job of keeping out mosquitoes as well. It can be a little difficult fitting the tent back in the bag, but if you’re really diligent about folding it up neatly to the size of the poles, then it will fit no problem!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not very well built After two days of mild weather camping the floor to wall seam split hallway the length of the tent

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best tent I've ever owned Bought this tent when my daughter was only 3 yrs old and now she is 9. I still have the tent and use it every year. If I could give it a 10 star, I would because it held through a rain storm with wind guss of 30-35 mph. Once in awhile I will get water inside the tent through seems but nothing much to worry about. All i had to do was apply some water resistant on it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Tent, Lots of Space This was used for my son's first cub scout camping trip and I love the amount of space. I can almost stand up right (I'm 6 ft), which is something that surprised me a lot. I love the little front porch and and set up is easy with two people. It's a little tricky trying to thread the poles with one person. When we got home to set it up to air out, a cord in one of the poles came dislodged and I was able to rig it for now, but plan to call customer service to see about a replacement since it was on my first use. Fingers crossed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Can’t tell - arrived damaged I think this will be a good tent for my beginning camping - that is once I get it either repaired or replaced. Corner webbed tab connection to floor pulled off when the pole was inserted. Looking at one of the other tabs it too is poorly sewn in place. Trying to connect for fix is a runaround at the moment. I’ve had the tent for less than 24 hours and was unable to fully set up due to the failure in stitching, so have no idea of durability, or the quality of features such as material suitability or overall design.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from tent poles broken after 1 year do not recommend. it rained on first use and the screened portion was full of water due to the angle of the screen and the lip of the top of the screen. used 1 time. then went to use a 2nd time and the inner cord from the poles was broken in multiple locations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tent I really like the tent. It keep you dry when it rains hard. Plenty of room. the only thing that I'm disappointed about is no rain fly for the screen room. It rain in the screen room then you track the water into the main part of the tent. I have camped in the Adirondacks Mountains and Prince William Forrest in VA both times pouring down rain kept dry except the screen room.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Roomy but terrible quality This was supposed to be for weekend getaways and backyard camping with my kiddos. We set it up to test it and by day 3 the fly is completely falling apart from wind and rain. The rainfall doesn't stop rain from getting in through the giant "window/wall" on the back of the tent. Woke up getting poured on from the thunderstorm through the window. Now because the rainfly is completely falling apart/ torn in so many places it definitely won't be keeping anyone dry... also the front corner seem started separating completely. Glad we tested it first. This would not have stood up to the windy camping in Wyoming or Nebraska! It's a very roomy tent and would have been great if not for all the issues. I usually love coleman products but I guess that was when companies made quality products to last and not just throw together items to be the next best thing. Only to have said items fall apart quicker so they need replaced sooner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what I was looking for Plenty of room for myself and gear. It took longer than preferred to set up by myself, but not impossible. LOVE the front “porch”. Other reviews state that it gets wet with wet weather, well duh, that’s because the fly doesn’t extend very far over. My remedy was a pop up over the front. I was still able to access the porch area, stay dry and had extra sunshade.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice for car camping The wife wanted a bigger tent. This is bigger than we need, but works fine. A design flaw is that the "screen porch" is not protected from rain or snow, and when the wind blows it acts as a wind sock. Generally, we only car camp when the weather is good, so usually no problems. One night, though, the whole tent nearly blew away with us in it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Essential Porch Screen Tent Pole I have enjoyed the tent up until the pole for the screened in porch broke. I can't seem to find a way to buy a replacement pole. The website lists the diameter of replacement poles but I don't see the length of poles anywhere. Any help would be appreciated since I would like to keep this tent, but without this pole it is rendered useless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such a great tent! I love this tent! I’ve had it for years now and it’s held up well against so much. Lots of rain and wind and I never felt worried or had any leaks. It’s easy to carry around and gets good air with the screen placement. It is hard to set up unless you have at least 2 people, but I’m really short so I always struggle

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent family tent Decent family tent. Sleeps 4 very comfortably with room to spare. Have only tested it in the backyard but have set it up and broken it down twice. Setup is easy enough as a one person operation. Second person is nice to have just to make sure the poles are staying where you want them, but not required

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great tent, easy to assemble and disassemble! A good tent with a relatively small weight (and this is important in hikes). We took it for festivals, on the last day there was a 3-4 hour downpour, the awning withstood it perfectly, nothing inside got wet. very easy to assemble I recommend it! A great tent, easy to assemble and disassemble!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s good but not the best. Ventilation is very good even here in Florida. Durability is amazing, with 2 dogs and a toddler. It’s kinda weather resistant, if it’s raining and blowing sideways you will have water inside of tent. There is enough space inside of the tent for storage capacity.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tent had a defect / open seam. I love this tent. I just bought a second one as my first had to be retired. Unfortunately, on my first trip I discovered an open seam. Not torn but missing the stitching. I’m disappointed. I will have to return it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love! The screened in porch area is lovely to have the kids take their shoes off and not drag mud and dirt into the tent. There’s plenty of room for our 4 person family.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from easy set up, tent stayed dry I liked the tent, the screen room is great but only if it doesnt rain. During the rain, it collects puddles, a good option would be for a rain cover attachment
