Rated 4 out of 5 by James35 from Durable just wish setup was quicker I love how far tents have come that the poles are already attached and you don't have to worry about where what poles go where. This says a 1 minute setup but unfortunately the first time took a good 30 minutes trying to figure it out and 2 people doing it but I'm sure the more times we set it up we will get faster. I do like how the instructions are attached to the bag and this way they won't get lost. The poles themselves extend and it states to slide it out 1 or 2 times and you will hear it click to make sure it's in place. Once set up it is nice and spacious and as stated can fit 2 queen air beds. Plenty of windows and I love how you can take the screen off as well to get extra air. It is also tall so I can actually stand up inside of it in the middle. Take down is simple and I love the bag where you lay it out and put the flaps over the tent to make for storing it actually practical. Overall it is a well made tent that will be used for lots of adventures this summer.

Makes it convenient when I dont have to spend over a hour on just putting my tent up when i am camping. Very spacious inside, fits my whole family of four inside.

I put it up by myself and it only took minutes because of the snap poles. It was perfect for our little camping trip. Easy to take down and pack away also.

One of the poles snapped. Mind you, this was our very first use. Very disappointing considering it was brand new.

We had significant difficulty getting the poles to lock into position during setup, and release during takedown. This is not as easy as advertised.

We tried it out in the backyard just to test it out before our big camping trip in June! It happened to rain and it is definitely water proof!

Everyone fit in so comfortably and it was so easy to set up! My children want to use it in the backyard and pretend that we are camping! Great tent!

It’s been used 4 times and sits in an air control room the rest of the time. Completely disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Foxtrots from Super easy set up, durable and nice ventilation! I purchased the Skylodge instant 8 person tent. I am an under 5 foot 5 inch women and was able to set this up all by myself. It was a breeze to do and I’ve never seen such a large tent that was also such a smooth process to put up. Granted, I haven’t had to purchase a new tent in over 10 years because my previous tents were also Coleman (some are still going strong!). It’s rained, it’s been windy, it’s been sunny and the tent has held strong, dry and cool. Such amazing ventilation on this tent particularly. Coleman is a reputable brand that I knew dropping money on would be a good idea when my previous tent of a slightly smaller size finally needed to be replaced. As someone who is a frequent tent camper and has used many brands, Coleman has been reliable and with care their tents last well over a decade, which to me makes the price point very much worth it. With the new tent set up and designs being so much easier as well, also worth it! I hope to get years worth of outdoor enjoyment out of this tent! (One tent I have by Coleman that’s smaller is over 20 years old and still amazing!)

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from A decent tent but still room for improvement While the tent is indeed spacious and fairly quick to setup (certainly not a minute for most of us average users), the tarp flooring could use more strengthening. An easy solution would be to have the tent sit on top of another tarp. The most disappointing feature is the plastic joint between poles 1 and 2. While I understand that plastic joints can reduce its production cost, the joint split too easily with the metal screw that's inside it. Don't know if there's a sturdier plastic material available or if it's better to have a metallic joint altogether. Not saying this isn't a good product, but it certainly has room for improvement. The last thing is the carrying bag. It's somewhat strong, but it didn't make it after 1 day for me. After the first day, there were a few small tears in it. Likely possible from rubbing against a rock or something. With that said, a heavier denier nylon or other fabric is warranted. To improve the longevity of ownership, owners might want to consider reinforcing each joint between pole 1 and 2 with a high speed (duct) tape like military high speed tape. Owners should also lay the tent on a tarp that is larger than the tent itself. Would've given this a 3-star rating but the customer service was just top notch and therefore raised this to a 4-star rating.

Most details were very thoughtful with the goal in mind of fast and stress-free set up, easily completed by one person. The top below the canopy is entirely mesh, so while it would probably be very breathable during the summer, you must put the canopy up for privacy and for the slightest chance of rain. However, there are two features that keep this from being a five-star tent. I had a few problems with the door: the zipper gets caught continuously. I did not have a single perfect open/close of the door. 100% fail rate. I really loved the bendable poles that went in the Evanston (my previous tent) door, they made it open almost like a hinge. That is the perfect feature for kids that run in and out a lot (let's face it, camping is exciting!) There are also no inside ties for the main door. Obviously, you want it closed most of the time for bugs, but the times you need it to stay open and tied down are crucial, like load-in. You don't want to snag or trip on the door while carrying things. There is a weird pocket on the floor of the front wall, presumably for the door, but it's completely inconsequential. Speaking of pockets, that is my only other complaint about this tent. All of the personal belonging pockets are located toward the rear of the tent. If you use the curtain to separate the inside into two rooms, there are no pockets at all in the front room.
