Awesome!
Great tent with lots of room for the family. He set up was really easy to follow with the instructions seen into the storage bag. The rain fly was also easy to install. It made through a night of rain with no leaks at all. This tent was actually pretty easy to get folded back up and back in it’s carrying bag without too much issues. Great product!

Good Ventilation, decent durability
We used our Sundome for 6 camping seasons before the floor started to delaminate and a torn seam in the top of the rain fly started to leak on us. We camp 4-6 times per year with two kids.
What we loved:
Easy to set-up
Reasonably spacious - good head height for a dome tent
Very good ventalation made it great for summer and humid weather camping - we especially miss this since replacing this tent with a kelty whose rain fly is too form fitted to allow a breeze
Decent years of service for the price (purchased on sale, not MSRP)
The single pole fly design makes it easy to have it ready in case of rain and throw it over quickly if needed
What could be better:
Shock cording failed about 2 years in
The door shape was hard to zip/unzip if the tension was even slightly uneven
Whole tent was showing significant signs of wear about 5 years in, hard to trust at 6 years (so we replaced it)
This was a good, basic family tent for intermittent car camping.

Barely fit
We thought this would be great for our family of 4 with room to spare. We set it up, which was easy and simple to follow the directions. When we went in to set up it all changed. We had room for the 4 of us to sleep, but no where to put our things. We ended up keeping our bags in the car. This may be better for a couple so you can put your things in as well. The construction of the tent was well made and the zipper worked well, even after it got wet from the rain. No leaks and even better, no condensation on the inside.

Shoddy Zipper
After seven camping trips, this tent is rendered useless by a cheap plastic zipper. A tent is no longer waterproof or can keep out insects, if the zipper won't stay together.

Nice size tent, not water resistant!
This is great in the summer, but if you are going to get fog or sprinkles, be prepared for water in the tent. It didn’t come through the door or windows, it came in through the sides and even the rain fly. Nothing was against the sides of the tent, so that wasn’t the issue. Waking up wet, not fun!
I do love the height so you can stand up. Easy enough to set up, even with “helpful” cub scouts.
Velcro for the poles is already starting to tear after very few uses.

Love this tent!!
My family and I finally went camping and this tent was absolutely perfect for us. We easily fit 2 twin blow up mattresses in this tent with so much room to spare. The tent itself was extremely easy to put up, it only took my husband and I about 30 minutes. When you got inside the tent it didn’t feel stuffy like other tents do. This is the perfect tent for any camping plans you have. We will definitely be going more often now that we found this tent that easily fits my family of three. I will highly recommend to my friends and family that love camping as much as my family.

Classic tent
We took this tent out for a long weekend and were so impressed by the space inside; it comfortably fits the whole family and our gear without feeling cramped. The ventilation is a huge plus—the large windows and ground vent kept the air moving so it never got stuffy.
The durability is classic Coleman quality. We faced some unexpected wind, and the protection it provided was top-notch. It held up perfectly against the weather, keeping us bone-dry and secure. Setup was a breeze, too. Highly recommend for anyone needing a dependable, roomy tent for their next adventure!

I like it, it's quick to assemble.
One of the things I like about this tent is that it's easy to assemble. It's spacious; a double or queen inflatable mattress fits, but 6 people would be very uncomfortable.It feels like good quality, as is generally the case with products from this brand. It has large windows that allow for ventilation. It is relatively lightweight for transport. I recommend storing it in a cool place to preserve the tent materials. You should keep in mind that if it rains moderately, it will filter the water.This is a common problem with tents due to their design and construction.

Coleman is a name you can trust!!
I would give this 10 stars if I had the option! I have owned several tents over the years and have always trusted the Coleman name. This particular tents exceeds my expectations and I would highly recommend to anyone. In fact, I already have recommended to two friends looking to purchase a new tent. It goes up effortlessly, you really can't mess up, even if you don't have much experience with tents. The quality is what I have come to expect from the company, absolutely wonderful. This is a nice, roomy tent with more than adequate air flow. And most importantly, the inside is very well protected from the elements, absolutely no water in the tent even through two storms. Look no further if you shopping for a tent!

Nice but problems after 2nd use
Setups easy but it rained, and not heavy, and there was water in the tent. I’m an Eagle Scout who camped regularly when active and had a Coleman tent on those trips 20yrs ago. Todays quality just isn’t the same.

I got exactly one night of use out of this tent before a gust of wind (maybe 20mph) snapped BOTH poles. They say it is wind tested up to 35mph. There is no way that is true.

I have only used the tent twice, but so far I like the tent. One night it rained very hard and I am happy to say my tent stayed dry. It is pretty easy to set up by myself. Not super happy with the clips that attach to the poles. Hard to clip on and take off. My concern is they will break after time. Hopefully I am wrong. Also I will the pole for the rainfly I wish was not in the middle. I am fairly tall and have to watch so I don't hit my head. I am happy with the tent and am glad I bought it despite my minor comments.

Hard for one person to set up
I spent hour and a half trying to set this up and couldn't do it. I called a 23 yr old friend over and he set it up in 20 minutes. So if your a little older or a bit handicapped buy another tent. I wish I'd checked out the Instant cabin tents. Because of knee surgery I can't get on my knees and need one I can walk into. I haven't even used it yet but will try again this summer. I'm having a 20 something over to "teach" me how to do this.

Poor quality and it will not be durable
I have an older Coleman Instant tent and really love it. I camp between 10-20 times a year and it's been with me for 5 years. Great tent.
This instant tent is not worth it. It is not durable and poles are going to be a problem. I am going back to buy the older tent style.

oved The Coleman Hooligan 3 Person back parking tent From the Coleman Brand. It is a super Practical tent, Light and easy to assemble, perfect for any outdoor adventure. The material feels resistant and of good quality, in addition to protecting very Well against wind and rain. It has the ideal space for 3 people without feeling tight, and the ventilation is excellent, Which makes the experience much more comfortable. Camping is intense / in tents.
Had a previous version made for poles into the door to make it rigid. I liked that and wished this model had that. I like the ventilation through the sides under the rain tarp. It would be nice if that could zip closed from the inside like the other screen windows for the cooler nights when someone might want to trap more heat into the tent. Otherwise I like the tent a lot and it is very simple to set up. I can set it up on my own and even with a 3-year old who wants to help.

Rain proof performance is great; shock poles weak
I typically camp (no campgrounds) 6-9 nights a year. This tent has performed perfectly in heavy rains on numerous occasions which is vital and impressive for an inexpensive tent. The bottom/bath has been great.
My only complaint is a splintered tent pole section (fiberglass) in the 3rd year (about 18 nights of use) which occurred during regular setup. For comparison, my previous Coleman 6 person tent lasted 14 years with no broken poles before the waterproofing gave out.

Durable and Easy to set up!
We were looking for fun ways our boys could enjoy the outdoors while we still enjoyed the comfort of our air conditioning and cozy bed and I knew this would be the thing! They don’t like bugs too much so I thought why not set this up on the back balcony and that way they’re protected from creepy crawly bugs on the ground and they can easily come inside if they get too cold or too hot at night. The boys loved it. It actually started raining as soon as we said goodnight and tucked them in on their air mattresses. Surprisingly though not a drop of water got into the tent. Set up was simple and break down was just as simple. We’ve now made this a Friday night thing. The tent is made of a thick durable material. The boys got a restful nights sleep and had fun and I didn’t have to go lay on the ground! This mama is happy!

Great roomy, easy to set up tent!
This is everything you could want in a tent. It's easy to set up so you aren't wasting time trying to figure out what poles go where and it's just as easy to put away and store. The bag it comes in has a tag like fabric across the bottom that you remove to allow the bottom of the bag to extend so you aren't trying to force everything back in it's initial rectangular shape.
The floor vents are a nice addition to keep air flowing without letting in bugs for when it's a little stuffy inside the tent and it seems to hold up well to a bit of wind (we didn't test it in anything crazy). There's also a rainfly accessory to keep you dry. The zippers are sturdy. Overall the tent is great quality for all your camping needs. Plus it's roomy. Who doesn't want some extra room when you're sleeping in a tent? Great product as expected from Coleman.

Easy install!

Great for camping
I got this great 6 person sundome tent through the tryit sampling community . I think this a great tent to have for camping out in the woods to just putting it up in your backyard. This tent was as easy to put up ad it was to take down . It was great to have a tent that blocked some of the sun with the dome on top . I think all in all this is a great tent and my family of 4 slept very comfortable in it with no issues at all .

Nice tent - worth the money
We got a chance to camp at San Bernardino last week. The tent looked sturdy enough and it was easy to set up/take down. Few inches smaller than advertised, so plan your bed size accordingly - we were able to fit in one queen and one full air mattresses (18 inches). Two pockets were very helpful. Luckily it didn't rain, but it was quite cold in the night and there's no option to even partially close the ventilation windows.

We only used this tent twice and the string holding the pole together snapped. We bought through Amazon but they have a no return on this item and we are now patiently waiting for Coleman customer service response hoping they will send us a new pole. 🙏🏻

Bombproof reliable.
This is a pretty durable tent. It's not the fanciest or most lightweight tent, but it's solid. The water proof tarp floor is very durable, and it's pretty spacious for a three man tent. I don't take it backpacking, but it's perfect for car camping. I also like that the bag it comes in expands, it's not hard to fit back in the bag. It has good ventilation, but also can be zipped up to keep out rain and wind.

Easy to set up and compact when folded correctly.
Love this tent. Owned a few now and can get it up in about 5 mins. Fold into 1/4's, roll the poles in the center, and you'll always have extra room in the bag for tarps and such. Let friend have my old one. He treats it poorly, but it's still holding up fine! Think he used it as a smoke blind and the goof sat up in his back yard for 7 months though the winter. Snow, freezing rain, It Handled them well.

However, for extended or frequent use, we recommend checking and resealing once you notice any signs of wear or leakage, rather than after a specific number of days. Here are some helpful waterproofing tips: Before use: 1. Inspect seams and apply a seam sealer if needed. 2. Use a ground tarp (footprint) under the tent (slightly smaller than the base). 3. Apply a waterproofing spray to the rainfly if expecting heavy rain. During use: 1. Ensure the rainfly is properly secured and tensioned. 2. Avoid touching the inside walls during rain, as this can allow moisture through. 3. Set up on slightly elevated ground to prevent water pooling. After use: 1. Hello, thank you for your inquiry. Yes, you can set the Coleman Sundome 6-Person Camping Tent on a wood platform or deck, but it&rsquo;s not what it&rsquo;s designed for or recommended. It&rsquo;s made to be staked into the ground, so on a deck, you will run into a few issues: You can&rsquo;t stake it down, so it may be less stable in the wind. The floor can wear faster on rough wood, and water can behave differently underneath it. If you do use a deck, put a tarp or footprint under it for protection Use weights or tie-downs instead of stakes and make sure there are no sharp edges or screws on the deck. It might work on a platform, but it performs best on dirt or grass, where it can be properly staked and tensioned.
