I USED to tell everyone about your mugs....
The snap and seal was "ok" for about 2-3 weeks. But the seal in the lid stretch out. Very disappointed In my choice of coffee mug. I bragged about your company since 2015, when I got 2 auto seal mugs. Stays hot for hours. Est 8 hours. AMAZING, PERFECT. I went on vacation took my mug with me and gave one to my friend I was visiting. Unfortunately i forgot mine. My friend loves them both. SHE WON'T SEND MINE BACK. Needed a new mug. Wrong choice. Auto seal is the way to go!

Leaks a lot
I'm very disappointed. The gasket wears out fast and there are no replacement parts! they leak because gaskets wear out, hard to open snap seal with arthritis. The auto seal top is hard to clean and gets gross inside. You can do better! The tumbler part is great but the lids are awful!

Sipping hot beverage painful to upper lip
I dont like my ContigoByron 20-Oz. SnapSeal Travel Mug. The drinking spout I do not feel is properly designed for hot beverages. Drinking a cold beverage from this container is perfect but, drinking a hot beverage is nearly impossible. It burns my upper lip. I have to wait at least 30 minutes before the beverage is cool enough to drink (other travel mugs I own do not present me with the same problem). With that in mind, this cup is not a hot and cold cup. If you don't want to wait, it is only a cold beverage cup and yes, it does hold hot and cold tempered beverages for quite a while. Too bad about the drinking spout. This cup is almost perfect.

Need to be able to purchase replacement lids
I want to give this rating 5 stars. I have been using this style for years. I love that it keeps my coffe hot and it is 100% leak proof until the lid breaks or the seal goes in the lid. The tumbler seems indestructible however the lids dont have the same longevity. My complaint is that you cannot buy just a replacement lid. You have to buy a new mug. I now have 3 tumblers with no lids. I hate to throw them out but have no use for them without lids.

Lid seal doesn’t last
I bought 1 20oz and 2 16oz mugs. I loved them but! 2 of the lid seals are no good. Only had these mugs about 2 months.

Worst lid design ever!
I now have five of these mugs at home (which defeats the purpose of a reusable mug). Three which I purchased and two replacements, all with defective lids/o-rings. As a result, morning coffees have spilled within our backpack/purse. The Warranty process was easy enough to navigate but receiving replacement mugs which also failed (within the month!) is very frustrating. We take care in hand washing and we wait 10 minutes to seal the mugs, as the instructions note. We have one Autoseal mug which has outlasted all of these and is still going strong. Do not waste your money or sanity on this product.

Terrible for leaks
I was looking forward to this product. However it leaks when I walk with it. I have two car seats stained with coffee because it leaked. Highly disappointed and I’m usually always happy with my Contigo products. I’m throwing this out !

Great Travel Coffee Mug
Excellent heat retention! I wake up around 0430 in the morning to workout and cannot drink my coffee until I have breakfast so this mug is great for that! Over 6 hours later and my coffee is piping hot just like it came straight from the coffee maker! The seal is awesome, I can mix my sweetener and creamer in when I'm ready to drink! Contigo's Lifetime Guarantee makes this even better in case years down the road, my mug is not performing as well as it does now! Thanks for the great travel mug Contigo!

Not enough insulation!
I had 2 of the 20oz travel mugs, and loved them - I could leave them out, no lid, with ice and tea all night, and they would retain most of the ice until the next morning. I have since bought the Byron 24 oz cup, and the insulation is terrible! Left uncovered in the refrigerator, with ice and tea, it loses almost all the ice (and this is in the fridge all night!). In other words, it loses more in the fridge than my 20oz lost sitting out at room temp! I am SO disappointed! The snap lid and all the rest of the cup is great, but it really doesn't hold the temp well at all, hot or cold. Am I doing something wrong? Please advise...

Contigo lids are trash
This is the 3rd one I've had (my wife bought this one without me knowing). After a gentle cleaning the O-ring came out of the lid...again. Spend the extra money and buy a Yeti. All Contigos quickly become bothersome dribble cups.

Hard to clean seals! No replacement parts!!!
I have loved my contigo snap seal cups for a long time. As others have said the seals and stopper are hard to clean, and eventually break down. Since there are no manufacturer-replacement seals, nor are there any replacement lids available, this company is depending on selling entire new cups just to replace damaged parts. The inconvenience for customers is one thing, but rendering an otherwise great cup as garbage just because replacement parts aren't offered is a demonstration in designed obsolescence and an example of why our entire system of consumption is so terrible, both for the consumer and the earth. Please offer replacement parts for the good of the people, and the good of this planet!!
This is my 3rd cup/lid combination and I am sick of building up a cup graveyard for a stupid little seal.
Fix the problem!!! Offer replacements!!!

It keeps liquids nice and warm, but ...
I have two complaints:
1) The hole where the liquid comes out is right where your upper lip normally goes when drinking. I find when drinking hot liquids it burns my upper lip, and there is no way to avoid this. I have had other mugs, and this is the first one that has done this. It is because of this that I give it a 2 rather than a 5 rating.
2) It is just too tall to slide under a Keurig coffee maker. You have to lift the coffee maker up to get it to fit.
I like the design, and purchased it because of that. And it does keep liquids warm as advertised.

Bottle lid
I really love Contigo's bottles, they keep my drinks cold almost all day. I parchase the snapseal 24 oz black matte bottle, but i got really annoying surprise with the diferente between the snapseal and the autoseal, the second one is more easy to use and doesn't splash you when you open it. To solve it, I wanted to buy a autoseal lid, but SURPRISE it doesn't fit the upper side of the snapseal bottle. You should start selling autoseal lids that fit the snapseal bottles, to give us the option of not needing to buy an entire freaking bottle just because we didn't like the lid system.

Took a Whippin', Never started Drippin'
I've had this for a little over 3 and a half years now. Used it every Monday-Friday for all 156+ weeks. Never had an issue. Cleaning is slightly inconvenient but, the gaskets and seal is what help it stay leak resistant.
I work in a fabrication shop and have hit this thing with a forklift, knocked off a table probably a hundred times, dropped steel and aluminum on top of it a hundred more. I ABUSE this thing. I throw it around and on top of products (laying sideways, WITH NO LEAKS) when I can't hold it in my hand. It goes with me all over the the company compound. I've melted the edge of it (the drinking side) with welding slag (lightly sanded the edge back smooth to make it usable). Spilt solvent paints and chemicals on it. Threw it in the dishwasher (I know I'm not supposed to but, things happen) and just this morning hit it with an angle grinder on accident. THIS THING WILL NOT GIVE UP!!! Highly recommend. I've left outside in the BITTER Colorado cold and was still sipping hot coffee throughout the day. Won't be buying another one anytime soon because it works just like it did on the first day.
Definitely worth the money it costs. Recommend for all NON-OFFICE related work, where durability, convenience and reliability are important.

Could be the best but...
I've been using this type for years now and love it.
Never used anything else since.
Never had any real issues other than a leak when the sealing ring was too old.
Even bought the replacement ring and stopper kit.
I try to wash thoroughly after every use.
Last year I was in Target and they were on clearance so I bought 4 of the same.
The only thing I wish they put more effort into was the middle part that snaps shut, it gets pretty nasty in there over time, at that point I just throw it way and use a newer mug.

The ring that makes the lid leakproof always fails
I love the shape, size, and style of this Snapseal Byron mug. I love the one-handed use and its ability to keep my drink hot for a few hours. But, I've owned three and the ring that is in the lid to keep it leakproof fails consistently ... it stretches and falls out, and unless one is careful, leaks are common. In addition, the rubber band on the outside to provide grip also stretches and slips over time. I could live with the outer grip ring issues, but the leaky lid is problematic. A better ring design or some feature in the lid that does not allow it to fall out is required for this to be the perfect mug.

A bit disappointed
I own many Contigo items and love them all. The Byron is the perfect size. I love the contoured shape of the bottle. I'm disappointed that this bottle doesn't keep drinks cold like the other ones I own. It only stays cold for about 5-6 hours and that's with ice in it. Other models keep my drinks cold for 20-24 hours with ice. I've kept them in a warm car and outside and the ice doesn't melt.
When Byron came out I jumped at the opportunity and bought it right away. Seeing the Thermaseal logo I felt confident that the quality was the same as the others I own.

Rubber grip came loose and mold developed under it
I purchased two of these this size. The rubber grip came loose on these. I also have the same problems with the two 16 oz. cups I have. It then get water u see it and mold developes. I have to now let air dry for a day and the water still is under the grip which then creates mold which is disgusting. I hand wash these as I do not have a dishwasher. I hope contigo can do something about this. I hate having this issue as I like the way the cups keep my drinks hot and cold. I usually have something cold in one and keep it by my bed at night. I fill the 16 oz with coffee and the 24 oz. I believe it is with cold drink when I sub at the school. It is difficult to open but I like that feature as the smaller kids can’t get in my drink.

Its still a good Contigo, but the West Loop 3.0 C
I really like Contigo mugs, they. are extremely durable.. but I dont care for this snap lid one. I prefer the west loop auto close style. I bought this one because it was a bit cheaper, but its not drop proof per say like the west loop. So I donated it. The west loop i dropped down an entire flight of stairs and it never spilled.a drop! Sure, it has dents, and the paint has peeled because I dont follow dishwasher directions, but I still love it! This snap close one, you have to remember to manually snap closed and falling right, it will open it. I also dont like having to open and close it with the flip lid. For the extra dollars, the west loop 3.0 will forever be my mug!

Nice tumbler!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this tumbler and brand. I own several Contigo tumblers and use every one of them. I like the size of this one the most. It is skinny so it fits into my car cupholder perfectly and holds the perfect amount. It keeps my drinks cold for hours. My husband uses one just like it for his coffee in the mornings and it keeps it hot for a pretty long time. I love the silicone grip around the tumbler as well. I tend to drop things a lot, but so far have not dropped this one once, lol. I highly recommend this tumbler and the Contigo brand, I love them.

Leaky seal
This snap lid travel mug keeps liquids hot for a long while, but after 1.5 months it started leaking, I noticed that seal was out of place, wrinkled up, so i removed, dried and replaced, this was good until the next time, same thing.
I would take it home, remove, clean, dry and replace and it would be fine for a few days, today after coffee leaking out onto my shirt for the 4th time it's going into the garbage. Not happy at all with this issue. I have other Contigo travel mugs that work great, but not a fan of the snap seal lid and seal.

Good design, iffy vacuum, dishwasher safe-ish
I've been using the Byron 2.0 24oz and its predecessor for years. I really like the drinking lip on the lids, and the general design. The ring gaskets can be a pain, but I can properly reinsert them when they dislodge or for cleaning. I get them as gifts from my daughter and wife.
My problem is twofold - the back flap of the lid latch is a rubber that will soften and crack in dishwasher soap(minor), and the latest 2.0 models have a serious vacuum retention problem(major). Two of my latest four have lost their ability to keep liquids either hot or cold out of the blue, without drop or mishap. I have one so old all the paint fell off in the dishwasher, but it holds temperatures like new.

Lid hits your nose when you drink
Tumbler is durable, and it keeps coffee hot for about 4 hours. A minor irritation is the lid hits your nose when drinking. The paint scratches and wears off after awhile, but that is true for any painted item, and the scratches make it _yours_. They make a stainless version if you are concerned about that. Overall I really like my Byron, it's one of the best vacuum sealed drink tumblers, cheaper than the Yeti and works just as well. Mine gets a lot use. I'd consider buying another if they redesign the lid to make more room for your nose.
