I'm so sorry Contigo, I'm only able to give this travel mug 3 stars and as much as I loved, really loved this mug I would not be able to recommend it to others... A week after I purchased the mug, I was so happy with it that I wrote a review on the website of the store I purchased it from...I gave it 5 stars and said that if I were Oprah this mug would be on my favorite things list... There was nothing I didn't like about it...I've had a lot of travel mugs in my life, but none ever came close to this mug... I truly could go on and on about the features, but just read the company's description it's all true... BUT, it's the same old problem lots of other reviewers have had with it, that dang gone lid...What's up with that lid? It broke after 1 month...I went and bought a 2nd mug, but it also didn't work after about 6 weeks... I'm disappointed that reviewers have had this same issue for a very long time and Contigo hasn't found a fix for it... Again, Contigo, I love this cup, but I can't keep buying it if it's not going to work so soon after buying it...

Absolutely loved this mug until...This was the best mug I ever had, until Coffee stopped flowing when the button was pressed. I believe the rubber gaskets on the two prongs have expanded over time. Remove the rubber gaskets off the two prongs and coffee will again flow when the button is pressed. I suggest engineering should review the rubber material being used. I also suggest offering the rubber gaskets for sale on the website. Good for a year, but gaskets expand and go bad after a year. Coffee stops flowing when the button is pressed. Remove the rubber gaskets and coffee flows again. But with gaskets removed it is no longer spill-proof. I don't see how to purchase the gaskets. If able to purchase the gaskets, this would get a higher review.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Nimer from I submitted claims for 3 Contigo Auto Seal mugs. Coffee remained hot for several hours. After a period of time coffee came out as a dribble or less. CS replaced the mugs. In a short time 2 of the replacements did the same thing. They were also replaced. (Reluctantly.) once again they have gone down to a dribble. I will not go thru the trouble of submitting a claim. I see I am not alone with this problem. This would be a great mug if not for the for mentioned problem with lids. Byers beware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Strider Farm from I really appreciate this travel mug!!! I have had mine for 5+ years and it is still my go-to travel mug. It consistently keeps my coffee hot even on very cold winter days while cleaning the (unheated!) barn. Fun fact: If you leave it in the hot sun with a hot drink, again even in winter, your drink will even gain warmth. I love my old style press-with-your-thumb locking /unlocking button to prevent any accidental spills and secure warmth. The only sad problem is that after a thousand washes in the dishwasher, the plastic and rubber components are more susceptible to picking up an after taste from the dishwasher tabs. Simple solution: I don't wash it in the diswasher anymore! I abuse travel mugs because they go to the barn, on the tractor, spend hours on a zero turn mower, etc. and I can say this one is my absolute favorite.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Barb H from Doesn't Last LOVE these.... until they don't work. I have severe nerve damage so I can't feel my hands and I shake a lot so I need a sealed mug. These work Very Well plus the handle helps keep the mug from slipping out of my hand when I shake. I now have 6 of them.... but NONE of them work now!!! They are so expensive I'm not sure if they are worth buying due to the failure rate. If you don't need to use it often, they might last, but with pretty much continuous use, they will NOT hold up!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Contigo Handled Autoseal Vacuum-Insulated Stainless Steel Travel Mug with Easy-Clean Lid is the best mug I have ever had! It keeps everything cold all day long and my coffee hot for 6 hours or more. I love it and need like 6 more of them. The lid is super cool because it doesn't leak and is easy to clean. I would recommend this mug to anyone looking for a bottle or mug that will keep things cold and hot for long periods of time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ShelbiD from Usually love Contigo. But... My husband and I are constantly drinking coffee. All day, every day. And we have used the old locking Contigo Mugs for years. Both of ours were finally getting pretty awful looking, so we decided to upgrade to these. We were both super excited about the handle, the lock, and the fact that you can drink out of either side. But, we have had them for all of 2 months, and both of the thumb buttons have stopped working. Ridiculous! I never wash them in the dishwasher (even though the lids are supposedly dishwasher safe) they've never been dropped or anything. We have both went back to our old ugly cups because neither of us can stand the slow, almost absent trickle that these ones have now. If this is the new technology Contigo is going to be using, we unfortunately are going to have to find another brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Charms240 from Keeps Very Cold [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Contigo Stainless steel travel mug with autoseal vacuum is one of the best travel mugs we have owned its great I love it with my cold coffee any cold drinks Since my Ice last quite a while and does not melt for a very long time and when it does melt it keeps it very cold. The hot drinks also keep them for long as well just as its decribed, my husband has to rise and shine very early in the am and he it maintains his coffee hot for a couple hours that makes him very happy He does not need to buy store coffee. Its also a great feature the vacuum seal it keeps the lid closed with the lock feature it comes with to avoid spilling, especially helpful if your running to work or you work on the road like my husband And get to enjoy your coffee or hot drink when you get a chance. The mug itself is very sturdy make sure you close cap very good to avoid any spilling for not twisting cap correctly. It stands any dropping its stainless steel so if you use as described it will last for a very long time. Just follow instructions to care for the cap and wash it good and should be a very long lasting mug.

Doesn't leak no matter what, keeps it cold here in Fl., I can lock the lid so grandkids can't sneak a drink, accessable from both sides, easy to clean and i can't think of enough things to say about it. Not only does it have the same quality I expect from Contigo, but it keeps my hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold for much longer than I expected. I love filling it in the morning and knowing that by the time I reach my destination, my drink will still be perfect and the auto seal assures me that I'll keep my drink right where I want it and not on my car seats!

They have a nice handle, don't spill if tipped over, and the locking mechanism allows me to throw it in a bag and not worry about it spilling. BUT! I have had to purchase 6 because every single lid/handle system has broken. Eventually the push down quits working and you can't get any liquid out. I now just have 5 mugs with no lids. I would purchase the lids only if that was available but it isn't.

It also has auto-seal technology, so you can avoid spills and leaks of your liquid of choice. The lid is easy to clean or put in the dishwasher. However, the mug itself is hand wash only. For me it is a little awkward to hold, since the handle doesn't attach to the mug at the bottom. Love the green color of this mug.

Purchased a new one about a year ago and now the thumb button on top of the handle wont push the two hole stoppers down far enough to let any coffee out. Sound like from other reviews I have read on here, you can’t purchase a replacement lid for it either. So I hope my original one stays working as this new one is worthless now.

Namely, the spring action in the lid that allows for drinking, has failed. All 3 of these mugs (one purchased for a gift) have been set aside because of the malfunctioning lids. Is it possible to purchase 3 new lids? Has the design issue been addressed for further purchases? We really want to continue to use these mugs. Thank you. Ellen
