The only reason I replaced them was because the paint would wear off. It came time to replace it and unfortunately, there is this new model. My husband was able to use it for a couple of months. It no longer seals and leaks. I wish they hadn't updated this mug. It was great the way it was.

Rated 3 out of 5 by DallasSteve from Great Mug... understand the limited lifespan If you read the reviews, you will find many that say this is the best mug ever. I was in that camp and replaced 7 Randolph models (used on my Motorcycle mug holder) with 4 of these. I LOVE them... right up until the button quits dispensing coffee. It is a slow process that occurs over time. You get less and less flow until finally you run the risk of tilting the mug up so high that the coffee spills over the hole on the other side. The result is hot coffee all over your face and shirt. Also... when you do get coffee... the little part that is left in the lid does not drain back into the cup. It pools and causes coffee drips to splash around. There is some piece that needs to be re-engineered in the lid. If Contigo could solve this problem.... it WOULD be the best mug ever! BTW... I'm writing this eval because I was on the site looking for replacement lids. It does not look like they sell replacements for this model.

And it worked just fine - but when I changed jobs I cleaned and stored it for future use. When I took this mug out of storage I found that the inside was not really stainless steel - IT WAS COMPLETELY CORRODED INSIDE!!!

The mug has a therma-lock that locks everything in tightly and leaves no leakage once locked. The mug is easy to assemble. With the therma-lock I can hold a cold beverage for fifteen hours or more and the ice hardly melts once in the mug! The hot drinks hold heat for about five hours. Every sip tastes fresh after several hours without losing any flavors. The mug is stylish, comfortable with a sturdy handle. You can sit it out in the sun for hours and your drink is still cold or hot depending on the beverage. Also, the mug is easy to clean and dries fast. The handle on this mug makes it the best thing ever because it makes it so easy to hold on to while traveling. This mug is everything you need. I am grateful to have one and have been telling all of my friends how amazing it is

Contigo is my favorite mug and I recently got rid of all other containers. Nothing competes with their non-spill lid or their long-term maintaining of your desired temperature. You will LOVE it, too! The flexible rubber seals inside no longer fully open to allow me to drink from it. I tried soaking it and wiping it gently while pressing the lever. Only an uneven trickle came out. At this point, I guess I just need a new lid which the stores do no stock.

I thought this design was a great improvement over the snap lids as the rubber gasket kept messing up that seal so I don't' know if I'll go contigo for any other mugs which is disappointing.

However, after the second one, I ended up buying a different brand. The problem was that the release button would not fully open after about six months which meant that drinking was difficult. Sorry, I hope you fix for the future.

Now one of the replacement’s lid has again stopped opening, after 2 months. Sounds like a design flaw. As much as I like the handled travel mug, I’m going back to the handle-less Contigo travel mug.

There is no longer any flow when the handle is pushed, but everything appears to be in working order when opening up the lid. It would be nice if there were a replacement lid for this model.

I've purchased several mugs and I have the same issues, the handles keep falling off. Overall it's a good product, keeps drinks cold even overnight. Are you aware of issues with the handle and have you taken steps to fix the problem?

Loved them for nearly a year and then, like so many other comments, the lever no longer opens it so you can drink from it. I never put them through the dishwasher but cleaned it regularly. The product was great originally, but I expected a longer life.

Last time I was able to find the older version when hers needed replacing. But now all I see is this Version. The previous version’s button was easy to use and was better design and weighed less. They've broken in such a way, that they can't be fixed. The little plastic piece that privots the piece to open anc close the sip holes broken. It okay I guess though, at lease it's broken closed

Why in the world would you make the centre bridge in the lid higher in the middle? I have had this older version for over 7 years and is still works great. I have accidentally topped it over and never a spill.

I've had two lids now stop working when the button on the handle is pressed. The mechanism stops working and the seals don't open, such that I tend to tip my drink further and end up with coffee leaking out the vent.

The handle is comfortable, it’s small enough to fit in cup holders, keeps my coffee hot for hours, love that you can drink out of either side. The first one I purchased lasted over a year and then nothing would pour out the lid so I bought another one but it only lasted a few months before the same problem of not pourong out the lid appeared. very frustrating for a cup this expensive.

I hsvr have tried to see what the problem is to no avail. Is there any way to get a replacement lid? I did buy another style but I would rather have the handled one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by daveh from Just wish the lid would last I love Contigo products, not only do I have several but I have bought several as gifts. I love this mug and the way it works. I had multiple Randolph versions before this and this mug is definitely an improvement. The lid is much easier to clean than the Randolph and the seal works great, at first. Unfortunately, like many others, I have found that the trigger mechanism wears out very fast. I use this literally every day. I have had mine for less than a year and now the seal won't open, and I stained a shirt from coffee spilling out of the vent and opposite drinking hole. I thought it was something I had done to it, but after reading the reviews I realize it is a common failing. Too bad, if it wasn't for that this would be almost perfect. I like it so much, I have still ordered another to replace it, but I am hoping they have fixed this issue or I may need to find a different product if this one wears out as quickly. I love the mug, but I consider this a quality issue, which is disappointing.

Reading the reviews I see this is a common problem for Contigo. If it was an isolated issue I would buy another, since it is not I will be purchasing a different brand.

Pushing the button on the handle no longer releases the liquid. Discouraging because the mug is otherwise still in excellent condition.

My third one of these and the thumb button wears out, the drink hole doesn't open enough so you're forced to tip the mug too far and liquid spills out of the air hole, down your cheek and onto your shirt!

Unfortunately the trigger opening mechanism has worn on two of them to the point where they do not open and as such are useless. I contacted Contigo two years after purchasing the last one regarding the warranty and did not hear back.

I noticed that it was not letting as much drink out a few weeks ago. It finally just quit opening all together. On the search for a new coffee mug now.

Unfortunately this model is similar to the previous where the spring wears out in a year and the hot coffee ends hp on your lap. Very disappointed that this costs as much as it does and won’t last longer than a year.
