Rated 1 out of 5 by Heavenscent from Rips; safety hazard; no warranty I used this for less than a season. It ripped in two places so I threw it away because it posed a safety hazard to people (especially children) who might fall through. Coleman customer service refused to honor my warranty. Not standing by the warranty implies knowledge of and/or denial of a defective product. A complaint about these cots is being made with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. There is ample information in various feedback forums about these cots ripping. I am surprised Coleman is looking to perpetuate the problem rather than satisfying customers. Please spread the word about this potential safety hazard.

Rated 1 out of 5 by atomich from More ripped fabric sling complaints. It is absurd for Coleman not to even offer a replacement fabric sling as a replacement part. Their supplier has to make them for the normal production runs, so why couldn't they order and stock a few thousand extras? It would greatly increase the good will with the buyers of these cots. By not doing so, the cot is reduced to 30 pounds of scrap steel that someone has to recycle. What a huge waste. The disposable mentality is pervasive in manufacturing, sales, and many corporate business models. Ironically, it runs counter to the mentality of many users of these cots who would like to repair their broken ones, and continue using them. I am asking Coleman to do the right thing for the environment, and its customers, and make replacement fabric slings available as spare parts. It is a reasonable thing to do, and extremely easy for them to implement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cot camper from Very well made, easy to set up, and comfy Surprised to read other reviews with problems of ripping, etc. I've used mine for about 4 years, probably at least 20 to 30 nights each year, so about 100 nights in all, and it is still in perfect shape. I am careful with my things though, and certainly don't bounce on it. I clean it each time I get home. Like it because very easy to set up and take down in literally a few seconds. Packs fairly small. Heavy - but it's for car camping so that's fine. Have used other cots - Coleman and other companies - and this is the best by far. I weigh about 200 and am well over 6 feet. Only problem I've had with it is the carrying case has started to come apart at the seams after many re-packings - but that's not a big deal. The cot itself is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by chris5744 from Let’s be fair about this cot I’ve had two of these now and yes each one has eventually ripped but only after about 7 months and 200 straight nights. That’s with babying it but also sometimes sitting on it which it’s not really designed for. It will last over 10 years for the person who only camps about 20 times a year but if you’re getting this for a daily guest bed, etc. be prepared to replace it every 6 to 7 months or so, depending on how it’s treated. After my first one ripped, I tried it again and was really careful with how I got out and into it with the new one. Careful with not bouncing too hard on it and being careful getting out of it. That extended the life about 2 months. I’m not sure a stronger 600-lb cot would last much longer either because it might be the same problem of the fabric sagging and then ripping. Logically I suppose thicker fabric would equal longer life but again that too is going to stretch out. Regardless, it’s a really nice cot and I have learned to view it as something I’ll have to replace every 7 months or so, just as I do a shirt that’s worn out or a messenger bag I use daily. At the price it’s not a huge expense to replace it every 7 months or so. I definitely recommend it for casual camping but the people who are saying it rips are probably the ones using it daily month after month or who accidentally ripped it by not being conscious of the force applied.

Loved the Cot before the material ripped one day for no apparent reason. Really disappointing that Coleman does not stand behind their products for what appears to be an clear design/material flaw. Will NOT be buying another Coleman cot to replace it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Luke68 from Canvas rips apart. The material made on this cavas rips apart. It lasted less than one year. I weight 165lbs and used this pack-away cot indoor only as home use. I used this bed to take afternoon nap. First I noticed a small thread stretched along the sewn line. Then it's get bigger and bigger as I continued slept on it. I think this bed is suitable for kids under 5 years old.

Rated 4 out of 5 by APSmitty from Lasted for just over a year of Daily Usage Originally this cot was intended to be used for Trips but ended up being used for a little over 2 years and nearly daily. I twas able to support my weight that was just over the 250 lbs mark during that time. Unfortunately like many other posters the canvas bedding seemed to just separate one night on the upper body part of the cot and I nearly fell thru the cot itself while sleeping on it. Wishing there was some sort of replacement canvas bedding options available but I think it's time to locate a new camping cot.
