Rated 5 out of 5 by from Affordable and durable Bought a basic model similar to this model while my white gas Coleman was getting a new generator. Mine has bigger knobs on either side. Propane version is my go to, especially with larger groups. The consistency of both burners is more helpful with a large griddle. Noticed comment about not being able to get a low simmer flame-recommend putting pan off to side or buying the newer, more expensive Coleman's. They have both, more power and much lower simmer. Better simmer than most house stoves. Both stoves, tents, and half a dozen latterns are pre-internet by decades! Did the same as my dad and scout leaders--bought Coleman!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I am pretty happy but .... This stove has worked well for a very long time. I have been using it since at least 2005. It has never failed. But I too struggle with getting it to turn down to a simmer. I have to bump the knob until it goes out then relight it. Sometimes I have to do that twice. It only takes a very slight wind to blow it out at that level because there are no baffles around the flame. The regulator has plugged up a couple of time. I just unscrewed the sintered bronze filter from the end that screws into the stove and boiled it in water for 20 minutes. Then I blew through it backwards with compressed air. It works fine for a few more years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Boil or off. Had this stove for a few years. First stove I’ve had. The knobs are very touchy. Move it “3 clock minutes” or a very slight turn any it goes from full heat to off. I could twistbthe knob very slowly to get the setting I want then I let go and it springs back and goes to closer to the last setting. It’s like there is too much friction with a rubber washer or something. Now I try tapping it to move it slightly but the lowest I can get it set is still a light boil... It should be like a big BBQ where you have 270 degrees of a circle to go from full to min. It does boil fast though. I would not recommend this stove.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Heat Control I am a huge fan of Coleman products but not this one. The overall fit and finish is pretty decent. What I dislike is how poorly the valves work. It is basically a flamethrower or off. It is very difficult to cook on a low heat as all of the action happens in less than a 1/4 turn. I bought this because my 413 needed a part. I am very dissapointed that they didn't refine the valve controls to be useable. I collect Coleman products and always recommend them however I can't in good conscience recommend this stove to anyone who wants to do more than boil water for coffee or pasta. Please fix this issue Coleman.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hard to get a low heat setting I replaced old Coleman stove when it failed during a camping trip and looked forward to going with the propane version, but I've been exasperated with the inability to set a low flame. Coleman seems to think that everyone wants a high flame, but unless you're boiling water, you will be frustrated with the inability to keep it lit if you turn it down. it can be tricky to get the regulator screwed into place as well. I think I need to replace the pump assembly on my old stove

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Life Saver My 35 year old Coleman stove had served me very well. The only reason it was replaced was due to natural disaster causing a lack of time to wait for a replacement gas connection hose. Hurricane Irma left us without power for a week. Things would have been alot rougher without this stove. Not only did it provide us with hot meals and the very necessary hot morning coffee, it also provided a means to heat water for hot bathes. We were needless to say very grateful to have it. Coleman is a brand Ive always trusted for quality and rightly so. You can depend on the quality of every Coleman product. Im very pleased with my new stove and am sure it wil last as long if not longer than my previous one. I still have my 35 year old Coleman tent and a lantern that is just as old and both are still working and in fantastic condition. Thank you Coleman for all your quality products. Whether Im deep woods camping or surviving natural distasters I can always count on Coleman. Im not only pleased with your products but truly grateful. Thank you and may God bless you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only been able to use it once but... I have only been able to use this stove one time ( today actually) and it ran great. I was able to adjust the burners as needed, contrary to some of the reviews I have read. Maybe there is an inconsistency in the regulator's? I bought mine at a Coleman store and it was the display model, no boxed stoves were available. It had a couple of scratches but it is in fine working condition. Over all I am pleased and look forward to taking this somewhere my cell phone wont work! P.S. I copied the parts names and their part numbers on the depression in the bottom of the the stove's exterior. May seem ridiculous but given I know I wouldn't keep up with the books, it might come in handy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible stove We bought this stove to replace a 25 year old coleman thinking that maybe a newer one would be a little more up to date. I wish we never had bought this one. There is no way to regulate the burner, you either have full on or off. The sound that it makes when you light it is like a burner on a jet. I am really disappointed with this stove. Unfortunately we can not return it as it is past the one year stage. We need a stove for our next camping adventure and we will be not using this one.
