However, I can say that I am quite dissatisfied with my purchase. For one, out of the box the grill doesn't work very well. The temperature on the grilling surface is very uneven, meaning that.. for example if you are cooking hamburgers, one burger will be perfectly cooked the other will be basically raw. Also in just one years use the regulator for the propane has already stopped working. So do yourself a favor and buy a different grill.

Its compact design and wheels enhance portability, making it easy to transport for camping or tailgating. In terms of cooking performance, it heats up quickly and delivers consistent results, while the temperature control allows for even cooking across the surface. However, this disadvantage is that it is difficult to clean , food often sticks to the grates, and the drip tray design makes cleanup more time-consuming than expected.

Keep it stored outside in the weather and use it at least once a week in the spring, fall and summer months. Maybe once or twice a month in the winter. It still grills like a champ. Just started to get a little rust on the lid but I'd expect that from all the use and sitting in the PNW weather. For me, this little grill has been a workhorse.

Put new 16oz porpane can on and it clicks when turning dial so no longer safe. Scrubbed it clean but still won't light correctly. Bought it last year at ACE hardware end of summer sale. Now it is Father's day an can not grill. Disappointing in the product. I see another review had same issue. I thought coleman made good products but this one failed. Has 3 year warranty did not last one.

The latch to keep the grill in portable position won't latch. I also wish the wheeled leg front actually locked into place not just slid into position.

It leaks gas if left connected to bottle through the CLOSED valve when not in use. When rolling across ground (parking lot, campsite etc) it rattles so loud that its just embarrassing. If you have to go up/down a curb - forget it, the legs/rails catch and scrape on the curb lip.The grease from cooking burgers has nowhere to go and collects inside the housing, making what my family calls a "Giant Grease Life-Ring". Its a disgrace that this thing EVER made it to market.

My Inlaws have a Coleman Roadtrip LXE 2 Burner stove and I can cook on that just fine but the sportster is just way too low.

I've looked for a replacement, but cannot find one without spending $75+ on ebay. Seemed like a good deal when I got it, but ended up being a total waste. The grill did an adequate job for about one year, and then quit working.

It’s the perfect size for portability, whether I’m camping, tailgating, or just wanting something easy to move around the yard. Despite its compact design, it feels very durable and built to last. Assembly was quick and straightforward, which I really appreciated since I didn’t have to spend much time putting it together. Cleaning has also been simple—the design makes it easy to wipe down and keep in good shape after use. What surprised me most is how well it handles temperature control. It heats up quickly and stays consistent, making it easy to cook everything from burgers to veggies without burning or undercooking. Overall, it’s a dependable little grill that’s easy to take anywhere without sacrificing quality.

First attempt was a month ago with no response. Second attempt was today and now the warranty claim form won’t submit. Frustrated.

I went back to Coleman on their warranty and they sent me a second one as a warranty replacement. That unit hasn't worked right from the beginning. The regulator on this one doesn't work either. It's always on high. This one will go to the road also. At this point, I'm buying her something different that will actually work. Not sure what's happened to Coleman, but their quality control sucks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by MisterBob from Lousy Regulator A lady friend asked me to check out this grill for her. She bought it 4 years ago but only used it a handful of times. I started it up and got a weak yellow flame. I cleaned out the burner tube and the end of the regulator. Doing that got me a perfect blue flame. But, the regulator gives effectively no adjustment. There is no low setting. It’s really hot, or extremely hot. I contacted Coleman to see about getting a new regulator. They don’t sell one. Even though this grill is 4 years old, Coleman is still selling the exact same model today. From what I read in these comments, it is with the same lousy regulator. Here, they have a know defective regulator, but continue to sell it. It’s impossible to cook on this grill because it just burns everything. It’s going in the garbage.

We have the 9955 series roadtrip sportster and love it. But the gas control knob broke on the regulator and i figured might as well replace the whole thing instead of just a knob that 'might' fit. However, virtually impossible to find. Any help would be appreciated. Im not looking for a free replacement but to be pointed in the right direction. Thanks

Does a great job grilling food like hotdogs and burgers. Perfect for our camping trips. It's fairly easy to clean after use and offers various temperature controls to get food cooked/grilled to perfection. It is quite durable as well due to the fact that it's being moved around quite a bit for our various camping trips. It's a great grill option for any occasion.

I have purchased many Coleman products this is by far the worst Coleman I have ever owned. Trying to assemble it was a complete joke, terrible instructions. When it was finally put together it's completely crooked , the grease tray slot is all bent and you can't even fold it up to be pulled on the wheels because it doesn't lock in place. Complete waste of my money.

I have submitted a warranty return on the website and have heard nothing back after almost a month. I am currently on hold for at least 10 minutes because call volume is high....RIGHT! It is unusable as is. I will now go and buy a grill from someone else, as I like to cook with a grill. I think I can use this old one as a camper jack support or possible to tie off the end a hammock. Quick update, Customer Service did answer and apologized for the long wait, they have many claims they are processing. I can see why!. They will send an email requiring me to take a picture of the model number and mfg date. They can then process my claim. I think they may decline it because I did not save my receipt. no matter what happens, I do not recommend buying one these.

It's the perfect size to feed all of our family and the heat distributes evenly so we can fit a lot of meat on it!! We actually needed to buy a grill, then on my walk one day my neighbor had a near brand new grill out front giving it away for free because they were moving. because it turned out being the best world we've ever had! The gas lasts a long time and is cheap and easy to use. I really recommend this grill.

Rated 1 out of 5 by BLN1 from Paint flakes off Grates and only one temp The paint flaked off the grates. I've used this grill only a few times and the paint is flaking off the grates. I do not clean them with any type of metal scrubbers. I clean with a soft sponge. So disappointed. I would not waste my money on this grill. No matter what temperature I set the grill to it is always on high. Low is high, medium is high and the food gets burned. I've never had problems like this with other grills.

But it would not make any difference it’s always at the same heat range(HIGH) all the time. Way to hot to really cook on it’s just too hot. Only one burner so you can’t move from one side to another to obtain indirect heat. Ok for hot dogs/hamburgers and not much more. Probably two stars is 1/2 a star is too much. Would not buy again or recommend.

I think it needs a smaller gas flow orfice . Working with Coleman to correct the issue. Ive NEVER used anything but the lowest setting and still have a difficult time not burning whatever I am cooking. Thick meat is impossible to not char.

The Road Trip Sportster&reg; Propane Gas Grill has a Regulator w/ Control Knob with different control settings. It has a LOW BAS, MED MOY., and HIGH HUT indicator on it.

Therefore, you can adjust the flame with the regulator valve on low heat by Pushing and turning the control knob clockwise to the &ldquo;LOW&rdquo; position.
