We use it ever summer for beach vacations and camping. We have probably opened and closed it well over 100 times. This thing has been borrowed by friends and left out as shade for weeks at a time in 100 plus degree weather. Yea it’s faded and yea it’s got some tears in the canopy but for the price it’s lasted longer than any other brand canopy I’ve had. The frame and all the plastics joints are still going strong. Looking at replacing the canopy at this point because a football decided to add an air vent.

The fabric came apart at the seams and it is tearing in places where there are no seams!! It is basically disintegrating ! The frame is in perfect condition but if the canopy doesn’t look good in the first season used it is a terrible purchase and product. There is no replacement canopy available at all. Maybe if one was offered at a reasonable price It would make this a little more palatable. I thought Coleman stood behind their products but they do not!! I have purchased Coleman for years and this is very disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rosco from Tent 13 x 13 instant eve We bought 2 for outdoor shade at our cabin which is 5400 ft south facing and very windy . Fastened the tie downs to 4 heavy pier blocks and spiked the legs. Survived a week of sun and heavy winds no issue . Easy to setup but for best result takes 2 to do it to unfold the cover. Nice looking as well. Open sides help to let wind through so good for heavy wind areas. Also setup for parking lot event on asphalt used 5 gal. Buckets on tie downs , legs free. Worked fine. Thanks Coleman, FYI. My old 15’ Coleman canoe Still going strong after 30 years. Keep building products durable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Shelbs69 from Not suitable in gusty winds! We loved this canopy for the first two hours we had it set up. We tried to use one of Coleman's Instant Canopy Sunwalls to protect from wind gusts, but it didn't fit the 10x10 frame even though the wall was sized for that. We are experienced campers and had the canopy staked and tied down to large rocks at our campsite. /However, a gust came under the canopy and pull two of the legs off the ground and it broke in a couple of places. We're very disappointed after all the money we spent on it. The overhanging eaves, while great for additional shading, is particularly susceptible to becoming a sail. It needs a side wall that can be attached to protect it from being pulled off the ground and broken as ours was.

I had to get a new canopy (same model) because within 5 minutes after assembly the zig-zag frame collapses on itself. Two rods broke because to much weight or pressure was on one leg, it was in our backyard with no wind or rain. The ground was slightly sloped with a 5 degree angle. Now one of the upper clamps is either broken or jammed. Assembly was perfect, but when a tornado warning was in effect I was hasty to disassemble it to find that it won’t close, After ONE use. This product broke twice and both times after limited use. Like I said the fabric is a godsend and the metal frame is a giant pile of back crawler. I would like help on how to fix the upper clamp. It won’t push the pin out of the way to allow the fold.

The shelter offers good shade, good height and the frame is well made and light enough to move locations when erected. Our fabric canopy has failed after two years despite the fact that I ALWAYS spray such products (umbrellas, child shelters etc.) with waterproofing and UV protectant compound at least twice a year. Last year we left the shade up at our property and the sun destroyed the fabric and it is now more duct tape than canopy. I'd love to buy a new top but Coleman doesn't seem to offer one. If you buy this product, take good care of it and do not, I repeat, do not, leave it up for extended periods in the sun

There are stress fractures in several of the plastic locking handles and the tent cover completely shredded after 2 years of intermittent use (1-4 times a year). DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT if you plan to use it to keep the sun off of you. The sun destroys the tent cover making it useless and ready for the garbage dump.

Great looks, a lot of shade, the vent on top keeps heat build-up to a minimum, I am able to put up and take down by myself in minutes. 3rd season in HHI, and would buy again. The life of anything in the salty air is not long-lasting, but this tent is exceeding my expectations.

I see several customers, like me, came here looking for a replacement, which they would have purchased the day they wrote their reviews. But instead, because you don't make one available, they went to a competitors site to buy a full replacement hoping it'll last longer. You are just losing customers because you don't provide replacements, not to mention your decisions increase waste. The marketing team needs to understand how poorly this reflects on the Coleman brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TexasPreston from Well worth the extra dime I bought one of these 3+ years ago and have used it about 30 times and it still works like new. Last outting I sprayed it with waterproofing solution as it has been put through its paces and developed a few leaks. It does require care when putting up and down as you are dealing with plastic and fabric but if all helpers are on the same page when putting it up it will last a long time. Something I do to make camping with one of these even better is zip-tie a 4 foot led work light under it, lights up the entire camp and makes cooking dinner in the dark a thing of the past!

Easy to put up, the vent at the top helps the wind blow through. Last night first night of rain since we got it, came out this morning and there is a rip at the top just from the rain. Was so excited and now so disappointed.

By the end of summer, large rips began when gentle winds stirred. Canopy was completely destroyed by September. Unable to locate just the canopy replacement!

I had no problem until a fast 35 mph wind and hard rain came bearing at my one corner pushing it down while the other three held their ground. The weather did damage several trusses which I was able to repair and am noticing the truss that took the brunt of the wind is bent. I would like to replace the bolts as I think I can straighten the trusses themselves. Meanwhile I am still using it. FYI - definitely use the tethers and weights on the legs. I don't think anything could have saved me... unless I had a quick canopy removal. After researching what is currently available, I did buy the same thing for backup. One person can put it up; just takes patience. I've seen other canopies at outdoor shows that were not as durable.

There are not any spare parts to replace them. This is used when we go to the beach for a week and is then stored for the rest of the year. I have called coleman and they say available onamazon. none of the parts I need are on amazon. Bought at Costco. Coleman does not provide customer support on this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DanOrbis from Making this one right The 13x13 Canopy Sun Shelter, Khaki is a lovely product, well designed and handsomely equipped with a quality storage bag with wheels. The two "tent" vent works well. Problem is, the nylon canopy is significantly weakened by the sun's rays. Leaving it up for the season will find it so weakened that the fall's winds will leave it in shreds. The website does not identify a means to order a replacement nylon canopy, nor a replacement bag. I'd like to buy one, because the design is good, and I'll be sure not to leave it up in the sun for weeks next time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Iowadave from Nice design; poor execution I like the overall design and set up of the canopy. However, those little ‘silver buttons’ that the latches click into do not hold. I have to have someone hold the latch to the top of the leg and put electrical tape under the latch to keep it at the top. I filled out the form on Coleman.com - if I get any resolution I will update this post. But as it sits now, extremely disappointed. Spent a lot of money on something that doesn’t work.

Rated 2 out of 5 by No longer a Coleman fan from Coleman does not care Have owned two of these. First one lasted for years. Replaced it with a new one November 2022. Canopy material feels thinner and the frame felt wobbly. Set it up at thanksgiving and a gust of wind picked it up and tossed it across the backyard. Landed on the concrete and scrubbed holes in the canopy. While the wind is not Coleman’s fault it is their fault that they haven’t made the canopy available as a replacement item. They have been making this tent for years and people have been begging for replacement canopy for years. There is zero reason I should throw a brand new frame in the landfill when Coleman could just sell me a new canopy and I could continue to use this tent. THIS WILL DEFINITELY BE THE LAST COLEMAN TENT I PURCHASE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by YvesKnows from Durable I was very surprised this canopy received such low ratings. We have 2 tents that we purchased approximately 4 years ago. We left our tents up during the summer and fall. Unfortunately, a squirrel ripped one canopy to shreds, which we replaced this year, (2020). Otherwise, we love the shade it provides in our backyard. We've never had any issues with leaks when it rains. The tents have withstood very very strong winds. More importantly, with the tents up the entire ambiance of the backyard feels transposed to a far away peaceful relaxing place.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Everardo from Canopy top is not durable. We bought our canopy this year 2021 through Costco. We thought it was going to be the greatest canopy because of the size13x13. And because Coleman products are of good quality. We setup our canopy in the back yard. This October, when I came home form work. The canopy completely shredded into pieces. Like Freddy Krueger and Edward Scissorhands were playing with it. This Coleman canopy was in my backyard only 2 months at tops. Adding more money to something we only had for a short period of time. Now we are looking for a canopy top replacement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by James62 from Clip broke after three uses. My three girls purchased this tent for me on April 15, 2020. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we have used the canopy three times. On the third time, the upper clip that allows the tent to collapse and allow it to fold in would not disengage. Then I have to sit on hold for 20 minutes and speak to someone who could not understand my problem and could not help me. Had to call back and got an agent who was much more helpful.
