Rated 5 out of 5 by Campcrazy from A great canopy for it's intended use. Coleman makes Camping gear and things intended to be used intermttantly. I have had mine for over 5 years. It has gone on numerous multi day camp trips and picnics. I use pop up weights on the legs, and the guy lines. It has withstood monsoon rains just file. Just this weekend we were camping and it was pretty windy. The item held up great. Have reasonable expectations and you won't be disappointed. My only wish is that there were removable side panels.

We've had three of these eaved canopies use across two properties and are very happy with them as the venting is great and shade coverage is best in the business for the weight. However we use them for extended periods and the canopy canvas naturally wears out since it's lightweight tent material. Would be 5-star if you sold replacement canopy so we didn't have the buy the full product or throw away old frames. Simple solution, please consider offering!!!

Loved it so much we purchased another after having the first one for two years. We use one for over our kitchen area and one for our sitting area around the camp fire. I.m not sure why there are so many bad reviews, but from what i’ve read it seems like most people are using them for permanant shelters. I don’t believe they are ment to be permanant. You probably need to just build a structure over whatever it is you need one over. Like I said, we’ve had one for 4 years and one for 2 years and we use them all weekend, about 20 weekends a year. They have stood through 20 plus mph winds, rain, and 100 degree sun. I would definatly recomend this product. The only thing that didn’t hold up was the zipper on the bag, but nothing a little rope couldn’t fix.

My prior canopy looked identical and was a wonderful product - lasted for five years through the same repeated usage we planned for the new canopy, which is why we bought another. However, on the third use, it completely failed, crumbled, and had to be tossed out. We are now using our five year old canopy again that has tape on one tear in the fabric but is otherwise fine. Big disappointment!

Rated 1 out of 5 by No BS from Not durable Purchased canopy and did not use it until fall. Followed instructions and assembled it. Had it staked down with stakes in poles and string tie downs secured. a small breeze came up and strings broke, tent tipped over and stakes came out. one of the knuckle pieces that holds the canopy top rails broke in half. took back to store they would not refund me for the tent. Can not find out from anyone if that part can be purchased or am I out $165.00?

The new one didn't even last two days at the beach! First gust of wind and one of the side trusses bent and broke and another one bent. It looked cheaply built compared to the previous model,so disappointed. Coleman products usually have quality construction, but not this version of this canopy.

After 3 years of sun exposure, the canvas has thinned and cracks appeared. Last night, the canvas ripped in the wind. I cannot find a replacement online. It seems wasteful to discard the whole shelter and start over. I will be sure, when researching a new shelter that replacement canvas is available. Coleman should consider this going forward.

We purchased it on July 3rd, put it up, a wind caught the canopy, even with it secured, and blew it into the side yard. All the metal arms that hold the canopy sheared in half. It's totally irreparable. We paid extra for the Coleman instead of the generic brand thinking it would be better quality. Now we're out $150. and there's been no response from Coleman.

I am very dissatisfied and sad with the quality of the product, after a visit to the beaches of Tampa on August 02, where the breeze was not very strong but if I rain and move the awning, this one departed and was useless. There's some way they can help me solve this problem. The truth I have always considered that Coleman products are of superior quality and I never imagined that this could happen.

Bought this at BJ’s in June 2020 saw it ripping by August took it down put away I figured I can live with a little rip I spent $220 for this and to only get three months is sad I always bought Coleman products when I started camping when I was 16 years old now I’m 53 and the quality of their products went straight down I could not believe for the price that I paid the canopy would be so thin and cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hotlead67 from Does not collect water, used mostly in wet weather I have owned several other brands that collected so much water over night that you could fill several bath tubs. A friend set up one of these and it took four inches of snow twice in one trip plus rain storms with no problems. Rain sheds right off. Very good design. I bought two, and have had no problems in the rain or wind. I do not expect it to handle a heavy blow. I bought sides to use with a propane firepit to keep my wife toasty warm. I use two ratchet tie downs on each corner and spike the legs. So far, no leaks, no cracks, nothing broken with 2 years of service. Treat it gently and take it down if it gets to windy. It is not designed as a permanent shelter. I now have many friends that saw mine and bought them, and I have heard no complaints. I was very surprised by the poor ratings here. Replacement parts would be a very good thing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Berzerker from Big Disappointment Bought this shelter with high hopes. Erected it once in the years to test it and get a feel of how to put it up before doing camping. Upon trying to take it down 2 of the release buttons won’t work to collapse the frame. No idea what I’m supposed to do now as I can’t even get closed. It’s the weekend so I guess I’ll wait until tomorrow to call and see what they say. The size of the shelter is great I hope there is an easy solution.

Rated 4 out of 5 by rbrwrj from Successful for two summers in full sun and rain. We have only erected this item about 5 times, as it is mainly used as a summer shade and rain cover on our deck. It lasted two years with no problems at all, but now is ripping and leaking in year 3, but considering the number of days it has been up in all weather, I think this is reasonable. I'm hoping a replacement cover will fit, although the reviews aren't promising. There are no issues with the frame after this much use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by nancygregrusty from Spacious, Durable After reading the other reviews, I felt I had to add mine. We have had this shelter for at least 2 years - we use it in Florida and Vermont. No problems with leaking. A tree branch fell on it and caused a tear - we patched it with clear Gorilla tape and it is fine. It is secure enough that we rarely use the tie-down lines. The reason I was looking at the site today, was to find a side to attach to it for a sun/wind break.

I initially bought it to use at the racetrack, as my race car fits perfectly beneath the generous coverage, which can be lowered at night and secured to the car’s wheels with bungees. The design was changed around 2019. The top fits the frame better, the corner “wings” slide into position better than before and the guy lines can more easily be removed versus the previous model. The peak vent works great at preventing pressure to build up and send the canopy airborne. It has been covering our patio from May to September for the last few years with no issues. I use 30# bungeed to each corner to keep it in place and it has weathered many strong storms. All I need now is to order new fabric, as it tends to stretch and become loose after months outside. Looking for a part number for the top alone, as the frame is just fine.

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of buying a new pop up shelter last Spring. This winter, mice chewed holes in it in my shed. I would love to get a replacement canopy, but they still don't seem to be available. Why? I now have two perfectly good frames that I would love to get canopies for and can't.

The only negative, as with all pop-ups - for some reason the original manufacturers do NOT offer replacement fabric. So i guess we're suppose to fill our local landfills with the perfectly good frames and buy entirely new units. Really??? PLEASE Coleman - respond with some environmental solution - i/e.: = offering replacement fabric canopies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tanner from 2 years service, still great. We have used the Instant Eaved Shelter for 2 years with no issues. We leave it up at least 4 Ohio months of the year over our patio. We use hooks to secure the corner cords to the holes at the bottoms of the legs and use weight on the feet. This method stabilizes the unit during wind gusts. We partially collapse and remove the main canopy when high winds are forcast. Overall, it has proved to be sturdy and durable.

I bought this canopy thinking the brand was reliable, but I was greatly surprised when, upon using it for the third time, I discovered that all the plastic parts had dried out and were breaking apart. I filed a warranty claim with Coleman, but they did not take responsibility. All the plastic parts need to be replaced, and together they’re very expensive. In short, I do NOT recommend buying it because it’s junk.

I've seen other folks tents like ours (different brands) get mangled while our may flap like crazy - but holds and doesn't buckle. I do use a different "Peg" for the four ropes that I bought at the Coleman store. They are an orange plastic that screw into the sand. I use the regular pegs that come with the tent for regular ground at the house.

The frame did not withstand a gust of wind which twisted it beyond repair. I cannot find a repacement frame for the canopy which is still in good shape

It hasn't even been a year since purchase. The top has ripped and is no longer useable. Disappointed in Coleman, it used to be a quality brand. Now it's just cheaply made and not dependable. I feel like I just wasted my money, because this is JUNK! I will upload photos later this week of the damages when I am off

Charlotte from Not a good choice for the beach I have used Coleman products over the years and was excited to find this sun shade because I’ve had to limit my sun exposure recently. The shelter snapped in two places after its third use. Like other reviews we had issues with sand in the joints - this is definitely not a good choice for beach use. I’m disappointed that there’s no sreplacement parts. Wish Coleman had labels for beach versus picnic, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Oldsoldier from Best Product Available I use this When camping with my trailer. I am always told that this is the nicest canopy people have seen. It sheds water beautifully and the roof does not puddle like most 10x10 canopies. The frame is sturdy and it does well in medium winds. A needed improvement would be factory seam sealing as it will leak a tiny bit in heavy rain. It does take some practice to set it up and take it down though.

Grad parties, anniversary parties, dance parties, camp trips, cook outs, baby showers. You name it, we’ve used it. We’ve loaned it out numerous times. We have never had an issue with it. That being said, we are careful with it if it’s windy. Also, we would love Coleman to make a shade wall for it. Please! Please! Please!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Red12 from Best investment for a party outdoors We bought one of this model at a local camping store a few years ago to be sure our party wouldn't be cancelled due to rain... we've used it many times since and bought one for a friend... Best ever! We string lights in it and it makes it a real party out there! We only leave it up for a few days at a time, so we are not experiencing the shredded fabric others have run into... that's a bummer.
