Rated 3 out of 5 by Cecilia from I read the reviews and bought it anyways.... We bought this cot to have more space in our new Coleman blackout tent. Being off the ground and the ability to store stuff underneath is amazing!! The reviews were iffy but figured we would be fine. The mattress deflated all three nights during our first trip. We kept filling it up a few hours before bed. We have a toddler so we couldn't use the pump right before laying down. The pump that came with the system wasn't powerful enough to make the mattress firm anyways. There's a note on that mattress about air mattresses STRETCHing but there was no way the same amount of air was in the mattress from the night before. We bought a plug-in air pump for our second trip. It seemed to help initially. The mattress was firm at the beginning of the night but deflated every night. Finally on night 4, we decided to just use the cot. The cot is great. We can store items underneath and there's better air flow without the mattress in it. Although it was still loud when moving in bed. We backpack camped before our kid came along. We don't have expensive gear so spending a couple extra bucks on this luxury was a big deal to us. We will continue to use the cot since it's perfectly fine and better than an air mattress. My knocks on the cot are that it's loud when moving around, the frame doesn't lock and the bar down the middle of the bed (hit a head or back on that) Those items may not be an issue with a functional air mattress.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Hack2nite from Queen air bed I have 2 of these and a friend who I have gone camping several times who has one also and these beds are the best thing out there but needs some tweeks to make it perfect. We had one matress come defective from coleman, ( it happens, what can you do) The seal on the port where you inflate was not heat sealed correctly,so it leaks from sides of port, so much for factory tested, seems this one slip through. Now as for the bed itself it does make alot of noise, it think it comes from the material at the base of the cot. Solution is to put a breathable matress cover on matress. Things needed to make better is allow the built in cover to be removable so it can be washed, camping can get messy. A lock to the metal frame once open will help as it tends to want to fold back up when setting up and in a tent can be challenging and also can punture the tent floor. The pump that comes with the bed is horrible, I have 2 and they were weak and dont inflate fully the mattress. My friends is older and that pump is better, i thought it was the batteries but no it was the pump, its just weak. Overall the bed is great, it was comfortable for my kids and my wife. We have a large tent and was nice. But they really need to improve the sound issue, better pump, and allow cover to be removable for cleaning, and lock for base will make this bed a superstar and 5 stars all day long. With that said, if you know these things and can manage, this is a great additon to camping that will make you more comfortable when sleeping. If you fix these thing and make other improvement would love to test them out :)

Rated 3 out of 5 by Maybe from Middle Bar! Great idea, and with some modifications, it would be great in practice. The middle bar and the ease of collapse are a major problem both in comfort and practicality. I've tied rope to keep the middle bar as low as possible and without that it essentially makes it impossible to sleep over the middle. The cot would be for two people sleeping in parralel only otherwise. This just fits in my tent so the notion of adjusting it when it partially collapses is annoying at minimum, again, strapping the middle bar to the feet fixes this. Noise is the other issue and someone wrote a review using moleskin to fix that issue. Coleman should consider providing moleskin-like stickers that we could use for the noise spots and straps to lock in the middle bar. Easy and cheapish solutions that would move this from 3 stars to 5. And perhaps some consideration to changing the design so that the middle bar is truly flat because even tying it down, it still isn't flat. Then again, sliding towards the middle is a common complaint as air mattresses deflate through the night so maybe this was designed with purpose but it's overcompensating to the point of preventing ever being in the middle. Anyone complaining about leaky mattresses needs to understand how ever present that problem is across all inflatable mattresses. If it came with leaks, exchange it. If you put a hole it in, patch it or replace it. Hard to blame the manufacturer unless the products are arriving with holes. Inflatables are fragile ya'll. And inflating before bed is almost always required as the material stretches and air expands or shrinks from temperature changes. Coleman, send me 3 nylon webbing straps with buckles to keep the middle bar down and a small roll of fabric-faced tape for the noise and consider adding this to your product.
