Good Cot, but better customer service
Cot has some design issues. Namely the taught canvas on mine required inhuman strength to manhandle the support bar on. Even with a 14 inch breaker bar for leverage. Now imagine the stored energy in this cross bar that requires a breaker bar to get it over the pegs. The issue is the pegs are made of relatively thin plastic on the end caps. The plastic held up first night, second time was set up the plastic end cap gave. End caps should really be metal to hold that kind of stored energy. However, quick talks with customer support and they are honoring warranty.

2 out of 3 broke first use.
A couple of us at camp have these cots, and these could be a really great cot. But they aren't, and here's why. 2 out of the 3 cots are now unusable after the little plastic button on the end bar that holds it in place snapped off. And mind you, these cots were well under weight capacity, that was NOT the issue. Coleman of course does not offer just the plastic button by itself, or any replacement parts for these, so the only option is to throw the cot into a landfill and buy another cot (of a different brand, of course). Coleman might warranty it, but that would just be another cot in the landfill. So no, I do not recommend this cot based on the several examples that I've seen.

Fabric ripped after only using it twice!
Says it has a 300# capacity but I only weigh 180? I always take care of my equipment and expect a cot that costs $50+ would not leave me on the ground. Frame seems sturdy but useless without the cot. Hoping Colman will replace?!?

Poor material
I got this cot to get off of a air mattress after 2 camping trips a total of 3 nights the fabric ripped along the stitching. Coleman will not replace the cot nor do they sell a replacement parts. I have bought a lot of Coleman equipment and they just keep getting crappier I will never buy anything else from them again.

Solid cot
This cot is built solid - it's on the heavy side, and takes a little muscle to pull tight, but the metal frame and tight canvas construction make it supportive and durable. Comfortable for one person only. I'm 5'4" and its plenty long and comfortable for me to stretch out on. Bed-comparable comfort for single guests at home, or for camping, though it would be too heavy and cumbersome to lug around to distant camp sites. It's nice to be off the ground and feel supported, with no slack or deflation like air mattresses can have.
My favorite camping use: comfortable for two people to sit across feom one another playing cards :)

Great Cots at Icredible Price
We just bought three of these. The negative reviews here which complain of tearing fabric or other failures seem very hard. If these cots ever had those issues Coleman has listened to the feedback and improved the stitching or material. These cots are incredibly strong and I just cant imagine someone twice my weight ever causing a failure. They are so strong in fact, they are on the heavy side. Heavy steel and canvas. If the carry weight is a concern, spend extra money for aluminum frames cots. But for the price, there is just no better cot with great long life potential. Thanks Coleman for giving my family the ability to camp with great gear at very good prices.

Comfy but heavy
I honestly didn't know what to expect from a military cot, but this is way better than most sofa beds I've slept on. It's kind of like a comfortable hammock opposed to a cot. It was super easy to set up, but it was on the heavier side. I'm not sure if it'd be feasible to camp with this unless it was a site you could pull your car up to. However, I plan to use it as a spare bed when I have guests in my small apartment. I'm 5'3 and the length is great for me, but I feel like a tall person might need a longer cot. The material is the waterproof kind that most camp chairs are made of - it seems heavy duty! I would recommend this for multi-use, not exclusively camping.

Impossible assembly
We just ordered 2 of these cots. They look sturdy. Stitching is even and solid. However, we can not get the end bar pulled into place. Several people have tried to help and it is simply not possible, no matter how strong. Is there a secret we are missing? Would love to use them, but can not get them together.

Worst Camp Cot I've Ever Owned
We bought this cot back in May of this year. Bought it because of the brand, the width, and for the way it folds up and packs into a bag. On the 4th trip, approximately the 10th night of use it failed on epic proportions. I was sitting near the end of the cot to untie my boots when the foot bent. I fell in the direction of the end of the cot and ripped off the bar on my way down. As if that wasn't enough, I knocked over the camp table and all of our food that was on it. It was like I was on some slapstick comedy, except I wasn't laughing, I was actually hurt and I spent the next 3 nights sleeping on the tent floor... in November no less. We were in the wilderness, about 2 hours from any outdoor outfitter, so no way to replace it for the remainder of our trip.

Seems to have a clear weakness in manufacturing
Purchased this for camping and I wish I would have seen the reviews on here first. I had the same result that I've seen others report. It rips at the side seam. Only used 1 time so I can't speak for the sturdiness of the frame. I am hoping to get a replacement with hopefully a stronger cloth material.

Never going back to air mattresses!
I purchased this cot for a camping trip and will never go back to air mattresses. This cot was extremely easy to assemble and took under 5 minutes. It is the perfect size. It does not take up too much space in a tent, definitely less space than an air mattress. Additionally, you don't have to worry about it deflating throughout your trip like you would with an air mattress. It is also very comfortable! It comes in a bag similar to a folding lawn chair, making it very easy to store and pack along for trips. We have actually started bringing this with us as an extra bed in hotels! I absolutely love this product!

Coleman cot crossbar solution
Use the handle of a claw foot hammer to leverage the crossbar nipple into the hole. Then the claw if you need to move the bar a little. Then tap into place. I had tried everything till the hammer.

Needs improvement but it’s useful
I personally own three of these. One a guestroom in my townhouse, and I topped it with a twin memory foam topper and use it as an impromptu guest bed when people come over. I have one at work in case I get stuck at work and I have another that I use when I go camping. out of three one of them ripped at the seams. I don’t think it’s supposed to do that and if they made it out of a better quality material or improve their stitching technique, this wouldn’t happen. You can fold them up there enough for you to carry it which is the reason why I purchased them but I wish they made them a little bit better quality and I don’t mind paying the higher price because I do like the product.

Comfy!
The best thing about the cot is how sturdy it feels and how tight the canvass is while laying on it. I'd say it's pretty comfortable to sleep on for short term. But what makes it so tight is what makes it difficult to assemble and break down. It was easy to set up but a little hard to take down. The cot itself is pretty long and wide and is definitely sturdy. I can't wait to use it at the cabin to sleep more guest or even take it camping. The weight of the cot is decently heavy. I also assembled it with no instructions until I realized the instructions were located/attached inside the bag.

Sleep Well on This Cot!
After reading many reviews from multiple sites, purchased this cot. Only hesitation was reports of difficult assembly. First setup took some muscle and leverage to get tension bars at head and foot locked in. After the initial stretch, assembly was easier and took considerably less effort. You must be mindful that it a saggy cot is uncomfortable, so the tension is important.
Solid cot with great support provided good rest. Easier to get up from the ground, and more reliable than an airbed. Frame and materials are sturdy. Folding design and leg configuration make sense. Plastic feet have rounded edges that didn't tear-up or scuff tent floor. Fits back in durable, handled storage bag well. I expect to use for many years of camping adventures, and maybe for houseguests instead of couch!

Easy to set up!
When I received this in the mail, I noticed how compact the cot was which will make it easy to transport and carry. This was super easy to set up although the poles for the head and feet are a little hard because you need to stretch the fabric really tight. I set this up in my living room as it’s not quite camping weather here in Buffalo. I had my fiancé lay on the is to see how the length and comfort level was for him (he’s such a trooper isn’t he?). As a 6ft guy, he fit on this perfectly. He also said that the cot was firm and comfortable both on his back and on his side. I laid on it too and I definitely agree. I would recommend this Coleman cot because of the quick set up, comfort and durability it brings.

Extremely difficult to assemble!
This cot is terribly difficult to assemble. Similar to other reviews, it is near impossible to get the last crossbar connected. The bed material is too tight. I was finally able to assemble just for the cross bars to bend and the end legs to pull up. Also, the nuts on the frame tore the seams of the material. Really bad build. It’s a shame given that I purposely purchased a steel frame and in hopes of sacrificing portability for durability.

Affordable but don't expect a long life.
Bought this cot to use car camping. Not off to a real good start. Instructions attached to storage bag mostly useless. Cot unfolds easily and it becomes obvious very early on that the main thing providing structural rigidity are the two cross bars which go at each end. The first was fairly easy to attach to both side bars. At that point the material comes up about an inch to two inches short and does not want to stretch to allow the second cross bar to be attached. I finally got it together by using a "big" screw driver as a pry bar. The tension on the side rails is obvious. They are both slightly bent due to the stress. Also, the end caps, which have protrusions to snap the cross bars onto, are plastic suggesting that the stress I see now will probably cause them to fail real soon. I have one week before I will use, or attempt to use this product. I now have the assembly outside in the heat (I live in Tucson, AZ. 100 degrees today) to see if the cloth will stretch out enough to make realistic assembly possible. If not, I will be discussing the issue with Coleman customer service.

Sturdy
This was a great addition to add to our outdoor trips! My husband is 250 pounds and he had no problem laying on this as it was sturdy and surprisingly sturdy! We have used this for a multiple purposes. We have used it at the beach and at the racetrack! You can never go wrong with Coleman as their products are durable and purposeful. The cot folds up to be compact and easy to store and transport. I would definitely recommend this item for those who do a lot of activities outdoors and not just camping as it can be used really at any outdoor outing! 10/10

Great for camping and house guests
This cot is heavy duty and super sturdy! The length is perfect for my husband who is just under 6 foot tall and my son who’s 5’9”. It will be great for our camping trips when the weather warms up, but it’s also going to be handy to have for when an out of town guest pops by.
During assembly, the last bar was a little tricky until I stood the cot upright and then stepped on the crossbar. That freed up both hands to put the frame into the right spot. It was much easier to assemble after figuring that out.
If you’re looking for a solid cot, this is it!

STURDY & COMFY
I’m actually impressed! As an avid hiker and camper, I never spend my penny on Coleman products because usually they’re cheap and break within one use.
This cot has exceeded my expectations.
It’s super wide making it easy if you toss and turn in the night.
This cot is really comfortable because the support bars at the end hold the fabric tight and keeps it sturdy.
It’s also long enough for me being 5’4”, the max height is 6’2, but I think it would be fine if you’re a taller side sleeper.
It also makes a great inexpensive additional bed for a guest. I actually wouldn’t feel bad making someone sleep on this cot because it’s so nice.
Also, get this: IT FITS BACK IN THE CARRYING BAG!
I definitely recommend this cot at such a great low price of $50-$60.

Not durable.
I go on 2 camping trips a year and purchased this Cot for them in the fall of '17. This past weekend 6/21 the Cot has failed. It was a very sturdy cot until the seams decided to separate. With a 1 year warranty for the Cot and minimal use I suggest not buying this one. Further research on the Cot has confirmed this issue for it.

Weak design ruined a solid cot
I actually haven't had any issues with the material ripping (yet), but there's a pretty big design flaw that rendered my otherwise functioning cot useless. The ends of the side bars have little plastic knobs that fit into holes on the end bars, holding them in place so you can pull it tight. Unfortunately, they're quite weak and because of the way it's designed, they stick out when it's folded up, which means any bumps can easily pop the plastic knob right through (in my case, setting it down on its end to get the bag off), which is made worse by the fact that it's fairly heavy. This means I can't stretch the cot tight anymore, even though the frame and canvas are in fine shape. If the plastic end cap were much thicker or designed better, I'd still have a great cot. It would also help if replacement parts were available, which is a pretty significant flaw in and of itself in a modular product like this one (and leads to a bunch of otherwise serviceable equipment ending up in landfills and polluting the Earth).
